ED'S going to ask you a question? Do you think United will sign anyone in January and if so who do you think it is most likely to be?

Jasper {Ed007's Note - Personally I don't think there will be any January signings and if there is it will be youngsters.}

Believable9 Unbelievable3

Personally I think that there will be more action than normal as there is work to be done. I'm still sticking with my prediction of Fisher and Stootman in and Nani, Macheda and King out.

Fresh!

Doubt strootman will be in January if anything I think summer, won't he be champions league tied? Same with Fischer? I think nani and macheda out and possibly a couple of youngsters brought in

Munkydunc

Agree1 Disagree0

I think Strootman will definitely be considered to be a summer addition. The fact he was captaining Holland the other night show he has leader qualities not to mention his overall ability in the middle of the field. What is he 22? Dutch as well and if the recent signings of Buttner and RvP are to go by then Strootman is highly likely.

I think there will be quite a few going out but no big signings coming in until the summer. Nani and Macheda will definitely go IMO. Petrucci and King might go as well.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

There will be no signing in Jan. Do agree there maybe some leaving, but all incoming will be done in the summer.

I know it's a rumours site, but getting sick of seeing all these posts clammering to bring in 7 new players international players in January/summer.

Get real! Or support Citeh/Chelski.

We only need an addition or two to complement our youth.... Evolution not revolution... The Utd way.

I could see maybe a mid in Jan window... (Probably would have got one in summer but for the chance of getting RVP) maybe a young player -Ince is flavour of the month.

DodgyBanter {Ed007's Note - Ince is not just flavour of the month at Utd, he is a bit more highly regarded than that. As I usually say, if you don't want to read the posts then don't.}

Guys, do you think that Ferdinand will be offered a new contract or will he be allowed to leave on a free? Thoughts? I think he will but there is always the chance that he won't be here next year.

Fresh! {Ed007's Note - I am sticking by my MLS prediction for him. I said it would have been summer '12 or '13. He will be very attracted by the exposure any move to the USA would bring IMO.}

Anyone see how highly SAF spoke of josh king after his recent form? Maybe he will get a chance.

Caolán.

Believable4 Unbelievable9

Or maybe he's just bigging him up and getting ready to sell him in January?

rpc

Agree0 Disagree0

Not convinced he's good enough, more likely Fergie was talking him up with the window 10 weeks away. we're over stocked with young strikers.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd like to see him go to molde loan and get a good run and return. Not everyone has have to of made it by 21 to be a good player.

Sanshine

Agree0 Disagree0

True but you would think he would be close, i just think he's got too big a challenge: behind Rooney, van Persie, Welbeck and Hernandez obviously.

But then there's Macheda who also has a dubious future, Will Keane out injured, Cofie, Henriquez. I'd say all those 4 are in front of King. Not to mention the kids in the u18's.

I know all the fans including me do not want the naming rights at Old Trafford being sold, and I saw Sydney talk about naming a stand, I think a better deal would be selling the naming rights to Carrington Training Ground, it has been talked about in the past and would bring in a lot of money to the club to pay off the debt and help transfers, companies like Nike would be very interested to strengthen their bond with the biggest club in the world. P.S unless united change kit sponsors soon.

Carrington should be named after Jimmy Murphy.

South Stand after Sir Matt maybe although there's already Sir Matt Busby Way.

And the Babes should have a proper statue, maybe based on the final team photo.

Perhaps with all that land being bought up around OT they could have a proper museum and memorials.

Agree0 Disagree0

No matter what they call it, it will always be old trafford to us! So i say if they can raise a shedload of money, do it!

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldnt be against re-naming either a stand or Carrington tbh, so long as we keep OT and bring in additional funds. Football has changed beyond the point where clubs can afford to overlook such opportunities

United already have a new kit sponsor (Chevrolet) lined up for the next few seasons, no?

Nani has been discussing a new deal at United, but apparently talks have ended 'over his pay demands of around £120,000-a-week'.
United apparently want around £20million for the winger, but Juve and Milan will only pay something along the lines of £12million.

Fiorentina considering making an £8million offer for Javier Hernandez.

DeLaRusso

Believable1 Unbelievable12

Nice work... you got every part of your information from a newspaper

RedKnight

Agree0 Disagree0

I can believe the first part - but if we let Hernandez go for £8 million it would be a crime.

Fresh!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol we paid 7 for him, i think we'd want more of a profit for him than that. Are the viola taking the schmeichel?

Agree1 Disagree0

£120,000 a week ?? i wouldnt pay him £120 a week at the moment !

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Nani is in denial over his own form. He knows he has talent and thinks he's shown himself worthy of a £120k per wk contract. He needs to snap back to reality because he is worthy of a top club, but he's clearly thinking too much, or got too much on his mind. He just needs to accept his position at the club then focus on putting in consistent displays.

One for the eds or any other fan..... What do you think of the latest rumours on Porto's main man Rodriguez?? All paper talk or maybe some truth in the stories??? Maybe it all depends on nani {Ed002's Note - Three clubs spoke to Porto about James Rodrigues and two bids were rejected. Neither matches Porto's valuation of the player. The bidding clubs were Manchester United and Palermo whilst Bayern Munich looking looking carefully at Rodrigues as an alternative to Dries Mertens who they are keen to move for next summer. There may well have been enquiries from other clubs including Juventus and Napoli. It may be tough to find someone to pay the sort of fee Porto would be looking for.}

Believable7 Unbelievable1

Ed002 would you happen to know the aprox amount we did bid..... please?

thanks

OXred {Ed002's Note - I really don't want to get in to the figures but Porto were looking for 40M euros for Rodriguez.}

Eds can you tell me if we have any interest in munian, because he is a cracking player who could become one of the worlds best and also do you know if we are interested in Rodriguez or is it all talk? Cheers

Caolán. {Ed002's Note - Muniain was touted around the clubs on behalf of Bilbao in January - and the two clubs in England that were approached were Chelsea and Manchester United. The asking price was 40M euros. They won't get it because I don't think clubs would risk half of that on a player who is young and has had some off field issues. If the price comes down to a reasonable level (20M euros might be an acceptable figure) I can see interest from several English clubs including Manchester United and Liverpool. Napoli and Roma interest is still there and rumours abound of Juventus and Palermo interest but perhaps an eventual move to Barcelona beckons.}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Hi Ed, I understand that at times you have to regurgitate your replies but think this one needs updating, as well as United and Chelsea, due to the Olympics arsenal, Spurs and one other showed high interest in the player but I think his petulant behavior and price tag put him in a high risk variability category {Ed002's Note - Let me know when he arrives.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Bayern Munich will be going in for Munian. Shahram
