A lot of talk coming out that we're interested in Bologna midfielder Saphir Taider, after his agent revealed we've made enquiries. Haven't seen much of him but he's supposedly good with the ball at his feet and with tackling, from what i've seen (although youtube is hardly anything to go on) he'd probably be a better shout than Fellaini, and available for around £16m too.

That being said his agent was also complaining about his current contract so it could just be another situation of using MUFC's name to get a better deal (a la Verratti). Ed (s) have you heard anything on this?

Believable12 Unbelievable28

So 5 mins on YouTube and you know he's a better deal than Fellaini. Even Bebe looks good on YouTube. We'll go for Fellaini, Baines and if not Cesc, Cabaye or Eriksen too. Whatever you think of Fellaini, he's streets better than Anderson or Cleverly
Mik

Agree3 Disagree3

Haha no need to take that tone mate I said youtube is hardly anything to go on. I have seen plenty of Fellaini though and while I don't think he's bad and would certainly be an improvement on Anderson (who should be moved on) he's not really united quality and is definitely not going to strike fear into the hearts of the European giants we should be contending against. Dunno where you got Eriksen from and I don't see how he'd fit into the team with Kagawa in that position already.

Agree3 Disagree0

News coming out that a fee of £15m has been agreed between the clubs. He is set to sign for us subject to personal terms and a medical.

He reminds me a lot of Marchisio.

Agree1 Disagree3

Read the agents comments his after an improved deal nothing more
Jred

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair to his agent he's not exactly hiding the fact that he is after a better contract for his client whether at his current club or somewhere else

Jaxer

Agree0 Disagree0

Another "emerging market" signature.

Its a good bet that the interest is serious then.

Dosent look like much of a player in honesty. I wouldn't mind gundogen, but this is disappointing.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't get the negative vibe with Felliani, who out of the rest of the people we could realistically (large emphasis on this) that we could get that would offer a serious goal threat, commitment, bite, aerial ability and he also deserves a lot more credit for his ability with the ball at his feet. he can play and put in the United side next to carrick and youll see him flourish

Agree4 Disagree1

Clearly a case of his agent using our name to scare Bologna into improving his wages. The way he talks about Saphir being 'payed as if he is worth nothing' it's an indirect message to the club he's at.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Feilaini is the biggest overrated player in the premier league!he is not the type of player utd need!we need a player whom can see a pass, play technical football, a player whom can win the ball, a player whom can read the game, see the danger and be quick off the mark. A player whom can move with the ball well also and use it to produce good football. Feilini cannot do any of this, he's like a jack in the box, he's very poor tackler, cannot track back enough, he fouls more players and gives so many free kicks
away. he may have commitment, bite and aerial ability, but that is it!you can have all that all you want but there's no point having that if you don't have pace, composure and skill and technical ability to play good football. we would be better off buying Any
Carroll and sticking him in midfield than buying feilaini. We are one of the biggest clubs in the world and so is Rm, barca and bayern and don't see them going in for him. I don't see chelsea or man s***y going in for him!why? Because he is not a top quality footballer!we are the only ones, well a lot of people seam to be linking us with him because Moyes is now our mgr!We would be extremely desperate to go in for Feilini.

Agree1 Disagree0

Not sure why any fan would be excited by Eriksen, he is hugely overrated.

Just20n

Agree1 Disagree1

No name you say Fellaini is the biggest over rated player in the prem. Have you EVEN watched cleverley "The crab" your whole arguement went right down the Sh1**er in your first sentence

Agree1 Disagree1

Pardoe, I never said anything about Cleverly?what are you on about?Whats he got to do with SijoBob Feilaini?im just stating that Feilaini isn't what we need!and isn't world class!i never said Cleverly is either but he's a very good developing squad player, when we need legs!no point buying Feilaini and sticking him on the bench aswell!we need a player that would potentially play week in week out in the premier league and make a huge difference in Europe. Feilaini is not that player!

Hearing reports that Chelsea have placed a new £37M offer for Rooney and Manchester United have tabled a £26M offer with Juventus for Claudio Marchisio.

Just20n

Believable22 Unbelievable43

Rooney seems Chelsea bound. can't see United turning that sort of money down. They won't sell him aboard because there's no interest for him from the club's that can afford him. If he stays it will just cause more problems in the dressing room.

Agree0 Disagree3

The only way he'll be allowed to go to Chelsea is in a swop for Mata. That way Mourinho and Moyes can both look like they've come up trumps.
Mik

Agree1 Disagree2

If chelsea want him that badly surely we could get mata in the deal

Dustbin

Agree4 Disagree2

Just like to say any money we get for Rooney, Everton get half. So if we do end up selling him for 40 odd million we only get 20 of it. This is why I think Rooney will not be sold, he has no sell on value for us. Especially if we don't make a big signing like Fabregas.

HinkseyRed

Agree0 Disagree6

Everton don't get half, they get a percentage of any profit above and beyond the fee we paid for him. The percentage is 25% and the final fee we paid was £27mil. Why do so many people just make stuff up?

UncleMalc

Agree3 Disagree1

Why would Chelsea put Mata in the deal if he's at least twice worth more money than Rooney. The only way it could work is if United give them Rooney plus 20-25mil as well. can't see Chelsea parting with Mata though, he's class.

Agree2 Disagree3

Mata clearly wants to leave. The thing is I don't think he'd leave for us I think he's angling for a move back to Spain. Rooney will only go to Chelsea for silly money, it would be monumentally stupid for united any other way.

Dan

Agree3 Disagree0

Mata is not better than Rooney. Rooney is indispensable to the club and there is no other centre forward in world football that has an all round game as complete as he does. He's a unique player, he's not done himself any favours off the field, granted, but there's nobody we could bring in who can match his value on the pitch.

I don't understand where this price tag of £25m has come from, he's worth double that in today's market.

Agree5 Disagree4

Mata clearly wants to leave? What planet are you on, that's your opinion based most likely on a fabricated story from weeks ago.

Agree1 Disagree0

Rooney indispensable to our club.
No one is indispensable. No one is bigger than United.
The way he has behaved means we should get rid of him end of.
I pay my money to watch players who want to wear the shirt. Be it mega star or a kid. If they do not want to play. No problem, you are on your way

I washed David Peggs car

Agree2 Disagree0

United wouldn't care, if Rooney was sulking. Remember Berbatov, we bought him for more than what Rooney was bought for. And we let him go for peanuts. We won't strengthen a direct rival. We are not Arsenal, you know.

We will run his contract down but won't let him go. Going back to Berbatov, he hardly even repaid what was paid for him whereas Rooney has been here for 8 seasons. He has more than paid his transfer fees.

We will let him go only if the club was not our direct rival, I believe.

Agree2 Disagree1

No we're putting a 40m bid for Fabregas together.

Just hearing a lot about ronaldo again, a lot of people saying the signing of bale will mean ronaldo could leave, is this information true? It's confusing me a bit as a few weeks ago I thought he was staying. So had anyone heard anything about the situation?

Trev the red

Believable32 Unbelievable21

Cant see Ronaldo leaving Madrid.

Agree3 Disagree1

If bale signs for 85 million, can you guess how much Madrid will then Value Ronaldo as
KevDarko

Agree0 Disagree1

Why have I heard quite a few times from a lot of different people that the 8th August is going to be a big day for MUFC? The sun a little while ago were saying it'll be when we announce Ronaldo? Seems a bit strange to estimate a day for that, got to be something in it?

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree1

It could be that Ronaldo has set that date for Madrid to have a given him a new contract by which they both agree on, and if it doesn't happen Then he makes mutual agreement with United to sign for free. I definitely agree with the above poster though about RM over valuing Ronaldo with 1 yr left on his contract. Just a thought!

Mabzinho

Agree1 Disagree1

8th of August is Rio's testimonial, which is why that date has been touted for something big to happen. Can't see it being anything but Rio's testimonial myself.

Agree4 Disagree1

Ronaldo is unhappy with the way he is treated in Spain. He doesn't like feeling second best to Messi and he isn't happy that his title as world record signing is under threat. If Real sign Bale, Ronaldo will leave. Probably next season though.

Agree1 Disagree0

I think rio's testimonial is on 11th not 8th.

Agree0 Disagree3

Rio's testimonial is on the 9th - the charity shield is on the 11th.

Agree2 Disagree1

11th is the community shield. The big news on the 8th is that bolt is playing at rios testimonial I thought?

Agree1 Disagree1

Your right Rios is the 9th and charity shield 11th. I must have got confused (probably old age)

Agree0 Disagree2

Rumour has it Ronaldo has told Real he won't sign a new contract and if they don't sell him to United this window he will run his contract down and leave for nothing

Lets hops that isn't just Tw****r bullsh1t

You don hear Ronaldo coming and praising Bale do you like the rest of the RM squad? I have a feeling that Ronaldo will be our new #9 next season!

KC

Believable28 Unbelievable38

IF Ronaldo joined again he would be number 7 for sure. Valencia is supposedly looking to go back to his previous number (23?)

RedDub {Ed004's Note - 25?}

Agree3 Disagree1

Surely he'd want no. 7?

Agree1 Disagree0

I have a real gut feeling the only reason we were linked with Bale for £60m recently was to push RM into making a move this summer. That could allow Ronnie to move back to OT and the interview with Calderon on TS yesterday seemed to back up that thinking.

Heres hoping.

DanW

Agree2 Disagree1

Ronaldo, Fabregas, Modric, Baines ohhhh

Agree3 Disagree2

Ronaldo has never talked up any players joining madrid

Agree2 Disagree0

Signing Ronaldo, Fab and Baines would be brilliant but I think it will only happen if we agree to sell Rooney to Chelsea. With the money for Soldado, I think Valencia will be in for Torres which would free a space for Rooney. I would love him to stay but he has kept quiet for too long and without confirming to the fans it all bull

KC

Agree2 Disagree1

They still haven't given the no. 7 to anyone?? ;)

Agree0 Disagree2

Maybe Fergie retired now because he knew Ronnie was coming back (therefore helping Moyes settle in)?

Maybe no. 7 shirt has been held back for a reason?

Maybe the announcement of Ronnie signing is delayed until after Bale signs for Madrid?

Maybe the whole Rooney saga was instigated to get him/his wages off the books. The fact Fergie started it means it doesn't tarnish Moyes in the same way (and we all agree with anythign Fergie says/does)?

Maybe there is some truth all this talk of a mega signing?

Maybe United delaying making any signings is because THIS IS THE BIG ONE?

Maybe we are all just getting a bit carried away. or are we?

I believe.

DanW

Agree5 Disagree1

Tbh if "the boy" did come back I'd hope Rooney stayed when it was Rooney ronaldo and tevez we wer unstoppable a few years back now it would b mouth watering idea if Rooney ronaldo and van persie up top nice to dream but it might have legs yet. I can still see us getting baines and Afroman as our cm if all else fails but it would still b a better squad no matter what.

Go on the boy.

Dufferz

Agree1 Disagree0

You can buy Valencia 7 shirts on ManUtd.com so what's this about 7 not been given out yet and it being kept back?

Agree3 Disagree0

DanW if you said 'maybe' one more time I think I would have turned insane.

Dufferz, I'd love to have RvP, Rooney and Ronaldo if we can afford the wages for all three of them then i'd love to keep Rooney and i'm sure he'd want to stay. Roo and Ron used to set up each others goals on a hourly basis ;)

Seems like Sly betting has Arsenal as the narrow favourites to bag Fabregas now (if he does indeed leave Barcelona)

Believable8 Unbelievable35

This is likely to be a reflection of the rumours that Fab had bought a has in London when really it was his girlfriends house with her ex that she has been granted through the divorce.

Again i'm backk with a bangg!
^WHOLE DETAIL ON CR7^. till yet
here I go :

1) In December Ronaldo called a meeting with the president at Madrid, asking for a new contract. However the president refused this.

2). Clearly stating to Ronaldo that he still has 2 years after the end of that season and there is no need to sit down right now

3) This made Ronaldo come out to the media and state he isn't "Happy" anymore. After hearing this through media outlets Perez.

4) Called Another meeting between him and Ronaldo. The meeting ended up getting very serious and words were exchange before Perez told.

5). Ronaldo if you want gone and someone pays me 85millon you can go. I'll go sign someone else! Maybe Messi!. We believe these.

6). comments were made. To which Perez told Mendes later were in the heat of the moment. But Ronaldo now feels that there is no coming back

7) MUFC hearing these rumours contacted Mendes to check what's going on. Mendes revealed Ronaldo and him were happy to meet Man Utd.

8) In May Ronaldo and Mendes met with MUFC owners Joel and Avram Glazer and also Sir Alex and outgoing chairman David Gill.

9) In this meeting MUFC clearly stated to Ronaldo that he is the guy that they want to come in and fill the void left by Sir Alex Ferguson

10) They decided at the end of the meeting they would keep tempting #Madrid with offers this summer and next. But if Ronaldo contract.

11) Ran Down. They would take him in 2015 for free but pay him and Mendes a sum of £50million. Music to Mendes ears. This was agreed BUT!

12) Ronaldo requested two months to think about it. Before giving MUFC an answer, hence now Madrid going crazy and saying they want Bale

13) And are happy to give 100million. We can reveal Ronaldo has told #Madrid no contract will be signed.

14) And either he will go to MUFC on a free in 2015 or it's up to Madrid to accept a bid now. Madrid have now reacted with Bale Bid.

15) and have told MUFC they are willing to accept a bid of £65million. Once Bale is done deal!

My last 15 Points will show you what has gone on with Ronaldo Saga. But as we understand RONALDO TO MUFC surely happen this summer.

Unbelievable story, but don't know why my heart wants to believe it. Hope you are right otherwise I will never trust you again!

Agree2 Disagree2

Oh my! you have too much free time in your hands laddie.

Agree4 Disagree0

I would just like to ask where you get your information from?

Steve

Agree1 Disagree0

Have said all along I don't think Real can have Ronaldo AND Bale. Its one or the other.

This all makes sense. Appreciating that don't mean its true lol!

I think even The Glazers know the first season post Sir Alex is of collossal importance and if we are stagnant in the transfer market we are more likely to go backwards than forwards.

I think we will bid for Ronaldo at c. £60m IF Real get Bale. Its a deal that works all ways up.

Dont forget Real have already spent £55m so another £85m+ on top of that surely needs them to balance the books?

And yes Ronnie can come home whenever he chooses but better to pay £60m now and get him in now while he's still a world-class talent.

The players we are going for, remain I believe:
Baines £18m
Fabregas £35m
Ronaldo £60m

These players would transform us into genuine Champs League contenders in my view. {Ed004's Note - I can't see that much being spent it would mean we would have to sell Rooney to balance the books}

Agree3 Disagree1

Simple then sell the scouser to balance the books!
K-stand red

Agree1 Disagree0

If all of this is true I feel the major stumbling block in signing him now would be the £50m he and Mendes would receive if they wait 2 years.

Ben

Agree0 Disagree0

If this did happen we wouldn't even need Rooney anymore and i'm sure we would sell him on. Fingers crossed, would be a perfect summer in my eyes

Agree1 Disagree0

All sounds very possible to me. I personally couldn't care less what the papers say, I have faith in Moyes and think that United are going about this in the right way. We will have 1 possibly 2 world class players by Sept 1st (fabs + 1) if its ronaldo then great, if its someone else then again I have faith in Moyes's judgement. I will do what the great man told me to do and that is to get behind our new manager regardless.

Agree4 Disagree0

This does coincide with everything I have read over the last few months on Ronaldo and "secret meetings" etc.

Agree1 Disagree0

I don't want to sound like I'm just jumping on the bandwagon here but I've read a few times from a reporter that Fabregas is being targeted as well as one marquee signing which got me thinking, if Fab isn't a marquee signing then who is? Ronaldo? Fingers and toes crossed.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

The original post sounds like a really poor soap, written by someone who plays too much FIFA. 80 million for a player who will be 29 this season is crazy money - even for the brilliant CR7. Also how are we going to pay 20 million euros a year net - that's 350,000 pounds per week net! That would mean paying him over 30 million gross per year. 80 m fee + 150 million wages on a 5 year deal = 230 million pounds. There's no way any player of 29 can justify that package.
Mik

Agree1 Disagree0

Thank you every one for replying and liking my post. will be back againg with a Bang :0 :)

_deal done_

Agree0 Disagree0

If you check the Real Madrid page the eds seem to think ronaldo is more likely to end up at city if he leaves, I really hope not but I wouldn't get too excited about him coming back.

Snakey

Agree0 Disagree2

Good post. zee:)

Agree0 Disagree1

I really think it went more like this:

1 - Ronaldo noticed he isn't getting paid as much as a load of other lesser players late last year as there were reports everywhere of the best paid players

2- he kicked off and his agent tried to turn the screw on Madrid for a better deal

3- this was rejected due to the length of current deal, (plus new tax rules in Spain would crucify them).

4- Ronaldo uses Utd, City, PSG, Chelsea, Monaco and anybody else that could feesibly afford him as bate for a new deal with Madrid. He doesn't want to leave really.

5 - We are the only ones crazy enough to show real interest - but it isn't real interest it is just to make us fans think we are still in the market for the most expensive players, but most importantly the shareholders on the stock exchange. It's just the same as BP letting a rumour get out of control about them finding an amazing Oil well prospect, they know it will come up empty but the potential keeps that share price where it needs to be whilst they think of another way to appease the investors.

Just think about it. Ronaldo's game is based on pace, he is approaching his 30's a deal now would make sense anything later we are getting a lesser player so there is no way we are paying £50mil in 2 years. If we really are prepared to break the bank we would have done so with Silva, Hazard, Nasri, Moura, Sneijder (probably loads others we haven't heard about) - but we go for £15-£25mil players on low wages. Aside from RVP who wasn't interested in Cities better offer as he chose the club rather than the cash, which is very very rare.

Ronaldo will only come if we sell Rooney and Madrid call our bluff, if we have made a bid at all that is, which I very much doubt! We fanny around too much and the better players get snapped up by the clubs that don't care about wages.

Sween

Agree2 Disagree0

He would not join city. No offence to the eds but come on! He says Fergie is like a father figure to him, and how grateful he is to United for making him who he is. You really think he'd join our biggest rival?

If he doesn't come back to United i'm 95% sure it will be to a club not in the premier league.

Ozwald {Ed007's Note - I'm with you Ozzy, I really can't see Ronaldo signing for City, I can't see him signing for anyone else if I am honest. Really it's either Madrid or Utd (Celtic don't need him just now), the French League is a bit $hit, Italian football just wouldn't suit him and I can't see him running about in the snow for a Russian team.
Which really only leaves Germany, would Bayern Munich splash out the sort of money involved in the deal? Or maybe we are kidding ourselves on and he would sign for City, Chelsea, Monaco or even LFC if they were paying him enough money, maybe he really is just a mercenary after all.}

Agree3 Disagree0

Didn't Ronaldo sell his house in Cheshire recently! Would have done this if he was coming back to Old Trafford
