a website Spanish Expert Graham Hunter has been on TALK SPORT in the past hour and once again said that Thiago's most likely destination is Manchester United. Hunter said that Thiago is meeting with his Father this weekend to discuss United's 5 year deal and wages etc and if things continue as things are he will be a Man United player.

So hope this is true. Utd need Thiago, he'l make us much better. Give him the number 10 shirt if Rooney goes as he'l go on 2b 1 of the best midfielders in the world.

There is another journo saying much the same yesterday but Barca don't want him to go, Barca been trying to sell for lower figure but having buy back clause and Utd won't have that

Delighted to say that Isco seems to have choosen Real Madrid. That's one that City have missed out on. Hopefully now we can press ahead with a move for Di Maria and not Gaitan.

If Real do get Isco they might also believe that Ronaldo is dispensible.

Fresh, use your noggin mate. Now City have probably missed out on Isco, Di Maria will move to City.

I don't get why we aren't in for him. We'd give him the first team football as he'd easily start ahead of young and zaha, probably Valencia too if he doesn't regain his form.

Why will Di Maria definitely move to City? You say it like we have no pull in the market whatsoever.

Cos DiMaria is a mercenary

Di Maria is next on City's radar after Isco. PSG have a €20m offer on the table already. City not getting Isco has made it even harder to get Di Maria now.

Probably Valencia?! Lol

Couldn't give a monkeys about Di Maria, genuinely, if we want to compete in Europe need to move away from targeting what the other giants consider not quite good enough! Yes Di Maria is a good player, has he excelled at Madrid? No, so do we want him? No! I would prefer to take a chance on a top top player who hasn't had the chance to prove it at a top club rather than a player at a top club who hasn't excelled!

Just bare in mind guys that City thought Isco was nailed on, just like we think Thingo is. Things can change really quickly these days. Don't get the comment on De Maria being a mrecenary, it seems like it's Real's idea that he goes. Of course I hope that we get our man and City don't get anyone of consequence.

To no name, there's plenty of players who for reasons unknown have not been succeeded at big clubs, moved and have become great players Henry and Vieira spring to mind and they didn't turn out bad!

Sydney! once again you're very definate in your posts and dismissive of others. is this inside knowledge or just mere assumptions?

It's worth city going in for the Maria if they don't get isco. Not too fussed if we don't get him. I think the only person worth getting and playing on The left would be bale. Regardless of other signings, him and bale would take us to another level
Agree0

J, I have been dismissive of anyone's post. City will look to Di Maria now they have missed out on Isco. That is no secret, the editor made it clear weeks ago. I haven't said he will not join us, just that it will be much harder to sign him now due to City's interest.

Players that didn't make it at big clubs but became great. Guisseppe Rossi and Gerrard Pique

Sydney! don't believe everything you read or hear. So the editor said it weeks ago! Do they really know? Who are the editors, do you know? I don't. The only people who know are the players, the clubs and the players representatives, who have a habit of putting mis-information out through certain sources for their own benefit. This is a rumour site, and a very good one, but that's all the posts are. rumours including, dare I say, yours. Here's a rumour for you. A very good friend of mine holds a position at the Bridgewater clinic. He's not a football fan, but knows that I am, so he's told me that the clinic has been put on 24 hrs notice by Utd for 2 CAT 'A' medicals. CAT 'A' apparently is a term used for the security required. Now, Sydney! do you believe me or not? Am I telling the truth or just a bit of mis-information. Great site Ed's.

J, I think Ed002 has more than proved himself to be legit and he has said that City are interested in Di Maria. Like I have said, I am not saying he will choose City over us, just saying it makes it more difficult for us that City do want him.
As for your rumour, I would give you the benefit of doubt as I have no reason to disbelieve it. I certainly wouldn't dismiss it as nonsense. However Ed002 has more than proven he is legit and does have very good sources. I have no reason to doubt him.

Sydney! Good answer. You certainly have more experience of this site than me and if you say that Ed002 has a proven track record then who am I to disagree. I'm just sceptical by nature.

Defence? Defence is fine, we need a decent winger since young is squad player quality, Valencia has been in poor form for long enough to be worrying, Zaha isn't ready for 1st choice, Nani is inconsistent as ever and Kagawa is wasted out wide. Nani at least needs replacing, maybe even Valencia too.

Rumours going round about Real Madrid are going to offer £30 million for Rooney, I'd take that, But rather use Rooney in part-ex for Ronaldo, Also on the Ronnie front there's rumours going round about a possible clause in his existing contract's final year. (TheInvisibleMan)

Would be surprised if Rooney left. Family (plus extended) settled in North West; Colleen and new baby. massive upheaval? Earning top dollar here. Nah, won't happen.

Completely untrue
Rooney wants to be the main player at a club which he hasn't been at United, he wouldn't be the main player at Madrid let alone be assured of a starting role. If he can't make the starting 11 at our club, he has no chance at Madrids.
His best bet is arsenal

Totally agree with melwing28. Although I would love to see him go. The player has talent, but no loyalty and lacks consistency.
If we can get a decent transfer fee and save £250k a week, it's a no brainer. Van Persie is worth his weekly wage as he actually scores goals, we have been robbed by Rooney. His performances recently would not justify £100k pw.

Everton get a big chunk of any transfer fee

Melwing, Rooney scores 20-30 most seasons, and has scored over 30 in three separate seasons. Also Rooney gets a lot more assists. In the past two season Van Persie has 68 goals and Rooney has 54, but Rooney has over 30 assists and Van Persie only 20. The fact is Rooney is a very good player and he can add a lot to the team that many striker could not.
Agree0

I can't remember the last time he made an impact? He doesn't score in the big games, look how many times RVP saved us last year. Is Rooney a game changer, no! Teams aren't scared of him anymore, if they seen him or RVP coming from the bench, I'd be worried to see RVP coming.
What summed it up last season was when he started behind the striker one game, Kagawa then came on in that position and Rooney moved to left mid, he then got taken off for Giggs!
There is no place for him, the team don't set up around him.
Interesting fact, end of previous season we went and got RVP and Kagawa to bring goals etc. if Rooney was that much of a threat why did we go get those two players? As I stayed previously, he has NEVER been the main man at United, and he never will be.

Who was the main man between Ronaldo leaving and RvP arriving then? Must have been watching a different team. Either that or you have a short memory.

So delivering only the Carling Cup made him the main man at United, you seem easily pleased as a fan. Yes he banged in a few goals that year of the World Cup, remind me again what happened when he played there? Biggest competition in the world, scored against those minnows did he?
Even when Chico arrived, he was preffered over Rooney.
This is the player who then asked for a transfer and robbed us for £250k a week, for us to then go an get the Premier leagues player of the year and the German league player of the year.
He was also dropped for the second game of the season last year. Surely if the main man, you wouldn't drop him for only the second game into the season?
So remind me again, at what point has he been the main man at United?
