Crystal palace believed to have made bid for Swindon winger matt ritchie, could this mean a possible in for Wilfred zaha going out!

I'm hearing, United have agreed a deal with celtic for thier midfield ace - Victor Wanyama, more on this to come out soon.

Jasper

Believable15 Unbelievable32

And your source is?

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope we have anyway! Scott....

Agree0 Disagree0

There is seemingly a gentleman's agreement that man united will not bid for Wanyama until the end of the season.
Celtic do not want anyone messing with his head, with the Scottish Treble and Juventus games coming up.
Celtic will also not entertain bids for players from midday on Wednesday because there is little time to replace the outgoing player(s).

so will hazard get a 3 match ban or longer?

JK92

Believable21 Unbelievable2

Hopefully a ban as long as cantona got. He's done the exact same thing in my opinion.

Andyp MUFC

Agree3 Disagree2

3 minimum IMO. Absolutely disgraceful what he did.

Ozzy

Agree2 Disagree1

Cantona got nine months.......oh but he played for united......FA bias hey Rafa!

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jan 2013 23:26:37
he will not get a ban, I believe there has been an apology issued and it is all settled, and also for you saying fa are biased towards united, don't be so absolutely crazy

Agree0 Disagree0

Who actually cares since he choose Chelsea? Not me one bit but I hope he has fun watching man utd v real Madrid play as he choose Chelsea because they won the champs league!!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he will get a 6 match ban maximum. He won't get the same as Cantona as there is a difference in the fact that Cantona had already been sent off before the kung fu kick where as Hazard was sent off for the kick.

Agree0 Disagree0

The ball hits the advertising board and is rolling towards Hazard. The ball boy then throws himself onto the ball, like some G.I Joe in self-sacrifice mode who throws himself onto a hand grenade to save his mates. Hazard tries to kick the ball from under him like you did when you were at school and the fat kid who was in goal laid on the ball as you claimed he didn't have two hands on it. He should have his red card chalked off, it wasn't even two-footed.

Agree0 Disagree1

The boy in question apologised to Chelsea for his actions (he had tweeted that he was told to slow play down, so Swansea might get in trouble) Hazard apologised to the boy / Swansea / Chelsea, so that is all cleared up.

A straight red = 3 match ban, I am not sure why this is even a question.

Andyp MUFC, a 9 month ban, are you serious? Did you even see the "kick"? Hazard barely touched the boy, and the kid went down, ironically like a pro footballer. A 3 match ban is all it should be.

RedDub

Agree1 Disagree0

I assume that he will automatically get a three match ban for the red card for violent conduct. Whether the FA take further action remains to be seen. The fact that he has apologised will be in his favour but will not affect the FA's decision whether to take matters further or not. His offence was not as serious as the Cantona "assault", but, in my view, still warrants a lengthy ban.
Mike B.

Agree0 Disagree0

RedDub..............Not true...The ballboy bent down to get the ball when Hazard pushed him out of the way, that's offence 1. The boy fell on the ball and tried to stop Hazard from getting it, that's offense 2. Hazard kick boy and ball. The boy made a meal of it yes, but he was still kicked..How hard doesn't matter. NOTHING gives Hazard the right to kick the ballboy, its common assault. {Ed001's Note - it is more likely to be considered battery, a much lesser offence, and it can be argued that the ballboy's own actions provoked it anyway. It is childish that people are so biased against Chelsea that they are trying to make more of a nothing incident.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed...........Don't know how you can call it a nothing incident. Retaliation has always been seen as more serious than provocation and rightly so. When Cantona got sent off and then kicked a fan, do we say the fan was asking for it? If so, what about the foul that got Cantona sent off? The guy had been kicking lumps out of Cantona for the whole game! No mention of that in the FA's report. Assault or Battery, its a violent act. Not a Chelsea hater at all, but you are almost condoning the act in saying its a nothing incident. Your attitude will just lead to it becoming a normal part of football. {Ed001's Note - like cheating is already you mean? if the lad hadn't been cheating there would be no problem. End of. It was a nothing incident blown out of proportion. Hardly violent. He didn't pin the kid down and stick the boot in, he tried to kick the ball. This is idiotic comparing it to Cantona jumping into the crowd with no ball anywhere near him. Such a childish and nonsensical comparison it is laughable. There is absolutely no comparison between the two incidents at all! That is the end of this lunacy. No more talk about this, move on.}

Sky are reporting that palace are tryin to sign a young winger matt ritchie ....... Got me thinking is this Zahas replacement an why now ........ Could it be that we wanna take zaha now an not loan him back........any of the eds smell something or anyone at all...

While writing this iv just seen hazard kick a ball boy in the ribs ............. Red card

CAIN

Believable16 Unbelievable2

Was just about to type this out, Yes I agree I think that this a huge sign that WZ is on his way to OT! Hopefully get him and Wanyama in this window and that will be a hugely successfully window! TomJP

Agree1 Disagree0

They have signed a young forward from City, and if they sign this guy also then it does point torwards him not going back there on loan.

Fresh!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ya it does seem out of the blue I heard about the other signing an know that has being going on awhile so maybe the deal is taken so long because they want a replacement before they part wit the player ........ Makes sense but we will need him in asap to bed .....by the by I'm not a fan of zaha an think we can do better wit the same type money ....

According to a website, man united are interested in wanyama and are set to make a bid by the weekend. what do you think eds? {Ed002's Note - For fear of repeating myself, both Manchester United and Arsenal both remain interested in Wanyama but are reluctant to pay the sort of figure Celtic are looking for right now. Given that Begiristain has hinted that Manchester City are considering making a bid for the player as well, one or both might look to try and tempt Celtic to sell and the player to drop his Champions League ambitions for the rest of the season.}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Eds/Syd/Shappy,

In your opinion, is Wanayama good enough to be attracting this much interest from top clubs?

TomBomb {Ed004's Note - Defensively he is brilliant. Though I do not know how good he is on the ball}

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he is good, but equally Phil Jones sat in Celtic's midfield wouldn't be bad either.

I like the idea of having a defensive midfielder that can also play as a CB. It would mean not having to replace Rio and us being able to buy a youngster like Zouma instead.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Phil Jones played that role for Blackburn, does that mean SAF doesn't know Jones best position or is he a victim of his own success playing in so many different positions?
Acker

Agree0 Disagree0

Wanyama's mainly a defensive minded player but technically very good, he's not skilful and can't dribble past players he just battles his way through players because he's a unit. Very good composed passer and has a good shot on him, 8 goals in 33 games.

Sir Alex Ferguson is after Victor Wanyama. Deal to be done at weekend

Believable19 Unbelievable15

Let's hope so he is one for the future

Agree0 Disagree0

Deal won't be done at the weekend, that's just cockiness to assume that. He won't be leaving this window, as Ed has mentioned fergie or no one else are willing to meet celtics asking price. He will probably leave in the summer possibly to man utd, but it will still take a huge offer in the summer for celtic to sell as he still has a few years on his contract and celtic don't have to sell anyone because they are financially well off just now,

Celticthomas

Agree0 Disagree0

A deal won't be done at the weekend! United haggle too much, negotiations take at least 2 weeks if the price is anything over £10m!

Zaha deal pretty much done? Great player in the making in my opinion, Wanyama should be our number 1 target if not in Jan then for the summer, as he can do a job in the midfield and has proved he can handle playing centre back, just what we need!

ed is there anything regarding the torino centre back Ogbonna? not just from united but any club. cheers.
Mickeyslim {Ed002's Note - Since last spring, PSG, Roma, AC Milan and Manchester United have all made enquiries with Torino regarding the sale of Ogbonna who at one time interested Arsenal and Lyn Oslo. The summer might be a more likely time to move.}

why would ugly spice want to move back up north? She's from outside london anyway and hated being up north. She couldn't wait to get dave away to somewhere more glamourous. The whole galaxy farce reeked of her. The only mildly entertaining thing she ever did was her dig at jordan in the players lounge.

Ed002, can I ask if it's true that Fredy Guarin isn't happy at Inter Milan and would consider a move this January?

Would Inter be happy to sell at a price?

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - Guarin is not one of the players up for sale.}

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Ed002, I didn't think Coutinho, Sneijder & Guarin would leave this month, but thought it was a question worth putting to you as you could argue that he fits the description of Strootman pretty well.

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - Sneijder, Jonathan and Alvarez looked to be the firms outs. As Alvarez will not raise too much money they might be willing to let Coutinho go if they get the right price. Ideally, now that Paulinho is out of the question for them, they wish to cover thr cost of Belhanda.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Ed002, also who is in for Alvarez?

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - River Plate and Atletico Madrid share an interest in him.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Didn't Porto let him go to Inter for just £6m or something similar? He was great for Porto haven't really seen him play for Inter must admit. Syd, you rate him?

Edd's first time poster here.
Although i'm sure that you must've answered this question before, but I still had the urge to ask,

IS it true that David De Gea's days at Old Trafford are numbered. A lot of rumours circulating around that he will be sold during the summer.

Raghav. {Ed002's Note - You need to read the posts Raghav and give the search engine a try. There has been plenty of discussion that will no doubt interest you.}

I'm an expat living in Saudi Arabia and I was watching Premier League Years earlier and they showed Utd v Southampton. It was the match where Taibi made that horrendous blunder.
Right at the start of the match, the commentator said: "Could this be the long-term replacement for Peter Schmeichel?"
Talk about the kiss of death!
This was ultimately the end of his Utd career.
Let's not also forget how Fergie ruthlessly dropped Jim Leighton for the FA Cup Final replay in 1990.
DDG should be worried.
I can see a more commanding replacement being signed this summer such as Begovic.

What are the chances of bidding for Julio Cesar from QPR.
He will help DDG and Lindegaard to develop and can provide few years of good service.
He is doing good for QPR
VDS was around the same age when we signed him {Ed002's Note - I would doubt it.}
