United were looking to get him on the cheap and (I won't say the name of the club after earlier lol) his club wanted more than double and no deal could be done. Do you think they will be able to get them down that low in price? Yes, you have it right, I am the one in mourning right now. It shows how bad we were that the texts I got off United fans were sympathetic rather than the usual gloating when we lost last night. I think that made it worse!}
If they want double what United are offering this would mean that United offered 4m and they will not budge on the 8m buy out clause, something tells me they will end up budging as he is a big United fan and 4m to Panathinaikos is a fortune to them.
Liverpool will be okay Ed, so far you have played City, Arsenal, United & Brum, they are difficult games, I must admit though i am a bit pissed off with Hodgson, he winds me up when he says Torres needs games yet rests him, why can't he just be honest and tell everyone what the problem really is, i think Torres is burnt out! {ed's note - I am not convinced Everton would let Rodwell go for anything less than £25m myself. We all know Fergie wants him and has him in mind, it really comes down to how much money he has to spend. If he has the money I think Rodwell will definitely join, Fergie has certainly been lining him up for a while. I think Fergie must have given up on Ninis though, otherwise he would have joined in the summer.}
I know for a fact United are still scouting Ninis, there is United scouts living in Greece keeping tabs on him so i do not think the deal is anywhere near over, i think United are still haggling the price, players rarely go for their buy out clause fee, United could get him for as little as 4m, De Gea would cost 10-12m and you are right Rodwell will cost around 22-25m, so 40m should be enough to nab them all.

{ed's note - sorry, my mistake, I have watched so much football this season I am getting mixed up. I have watched him play twice this season and he was top class, including against Valencia, that will teach me to check before I post! It is not even like Valencia and Atletico play in the same strips to make an excuse for the mistake. I can even remember thinking to myself how much like VDS he was then the commentator making the exact same comment just afterwards.}
I know you know your footy Ed so i knew it was a little mix-up, my source told me this last night that Fergie was scouting and using the Valencia game as a red herring, my source is adamant De Gea & Ninis will be Manchester United players by the summer, could Fergie let them stay at their clubs til the summer, like the Smalling deal?
I have a feeling United will wrap up these pair plus Jack Rodwell by the summer, although my source has not said Rodwell will be a red, although i may just be hoping for that transfer Ed? I do know Fergie likes his English talent though so i think its possible. 40m could be enough to wrap these three up, do you think the Glazers would sanction these three players? Na hes an Atletico player Ed, it was at the Valencia vs Atletico Madrid game Fergie was spotted at. Atletico Madrid tried their best to get a big money deal from the Aguero sale, they even tried to sell Forlan so they are desperate for money, as they have another great keeper in Asenjo they will have no problem letting De gea go for around 10-12m.

United were infact scouting both Valencia and David De Gea.Eric Steele our goalkeeper coach was with Fergie.killing 2 birds with 1 stone.

*I would imagine that its more likely he went to watch Valencia before their champions league game aswell as to have a good look at De Gea.

I Have heard that united did look at Mata during the summer transfer window. but valencia were reluctant to sell all of their big stars in the same window, without having suitable replacements. I Wouldnt be surprised to see a jan/summer bid for mata. (when united play valencia expect high praise from fergie in the united magazine about mata.)
Also de gea the goalkeeper he is a fantastic prospect for the future and fergie is trying to get a deal done for when van der sar retires at the end of the season, he would like akinfeev but has been priced out of a move for the russian and feels that de gea will eventually be the worlds number one goalkeeper.
Also corry evans is looking to go out on loan and hopes to follow in the footsteps of his brother Jonny and the likes of david beckham who have to go out on loan then come back to establish themselves as a first team regular.
so far this is all i have from Old Trafford any more news received and i will be sure to post.
