Giggs, Scholes, Ferdinand, Nani, Young and Evra should not be here next year. They are all either past it or not good enough. I can only hope that Giggs and Scholes take it on themselves to retire. It's getting embarrassing. And I hate that I am saying this about two legends.

G.A.G.U.S

Believable58 Unbelievable15

I disagree about rio, still think he has 1 more season left with us.

Agree3 Disagree2

I don't disagree. Out of interest G.A.G.U.S, who would you most like to bring in to replace them?

Fred

Agree0 Disagree0

Keep Rio one more season.
Did u see the way he pulled the ball down from the sky Ronaldinho esq under pressure. The whole crowd applauded. STILL QUALITY.

Smalling, Jones, M.Keane & Thorpe will all benefit from training one more season with Rio I'm sure. Plus with our bad streak of injuries at the back it's best to keep him.

It'll save on millions. Rio, Vidic, Evans, Smalling & Jones all pushing for the CB pairing next season. M.Keane & Thorpe on loan from January 2014 getting valuable experience.

TJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Fred

Hummels to replace Rio would be the most ideal scenario. Similar playing styles and I rate Hummels as the best in the world.

Rodriguez to replace Nani. Muniain was another that I like, but Rodriguez is really impressing me this season.

Powell to replace Scholes.

And I would love to see United move for Coentrao to replace Evra.

Obviously we still need a tough midfielder, perhaps Wanyama, although we should be targeting the best ie. Vidal, Bender etc.

G.A.G.U.S

Agree0 Disagree0

You can add welbeck to that list aswell.

Agree0 Disagree0

Replacements should be: Papadopolous, Alaba, Wanyama, Rodriguez and Isco. Plus Klopp in Fergie out.

We'd get around 35m from those out goings and this group would cost around 80m so it would take a transfer budget of 45m to build our next title winning team. Come on Glazers empty your pockets!

Ozzy

Agree1 Disagree3

Hummels Strootman Rodriguez and coentrauo in that would be ideal over the next two transfer windows

Agree0 Disagree0

Ferdinand and Evra still offer enough quality. Young should have never been more than a back-up. If we get a new first team winger and he is used in games against rubbish team then there is no problem.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with Hummels and Rodriguez. For me it would be:

Out:

Giggs, Scholes, Ferdinand, Evra, Nani, Macheda, Bebe, King.

In:

Baines, Hummels, Rodriguez, Bender/Wanyama/Strootman, Fischer.

Fred

Agree0 Disagree0

In my opinion we have already built our next title winning team, not too keen on coentrao or klopp

aaronaldo7

Agree0 Disagree1

Strootman is not in the mould of Wanyama and Bender. Just because he is big, people think he is the next Roy Keane when he actually plays further forward and use to actually be a number 10 before his move to PSV. I would much prefer Wanyama or Cirigliano if we buy a tough tackling midfielder. Cirigliano would be preferable for me I think he will be outstanding.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

100% Agree and most likely to happen with exception of Evra.

Rodrigues/Bale/Isco/Muniain for Nani
Baines/Contrao/French left back from Lyon can't remember his name for Evra
Hummels/Varrane for Ferdinand
Bender for Scholes

And since this is just conjecture, I would take Erikson for Giggs in midfield.

SAF said Scholes can play another year. I highly disagree on that. Last season he helped but this season has more so the complete opposite. Time and time again his tackles have put us at risk. I do recall one tackle that led to goal and I'm more surprised he hasn't gotten more yellows. Tbh, that one assist to Chica has been the one highlight so far from him. But I can't find any others.

Believable27 Unbelievable16

Can't find any other ? Ok so the spurs game second half ? Literally bossed it completely and when he came on against Southampton ? Even rvp said it on his post match interview he had to thank that man scholes !

Yea he has not got the pace but ne me one player we have who can switch play and play pin point 40 yard balls? No one

If fergie utilises him correctly then we will still be able to benefit from him

How is the champions league last 16 drawn. Is it like:
Winner group A. V. Second group B
Winner group B. V. Second group A
Etc

Or is it a random draw? {Ed007's Note - You are half right. The winners of the groups are drawn against the runners up but it is random apart from teams can't play the team from their group or teams from the same country.}

Believable3 Unbelievable2

So theres a real possibility that United oculd be drawn against real madrid for the round of 16? {Ed002's Note - Amongst other teams.}

I agree that anderson should start in midfield. But think about tthis

Maybe SAF is bringing him off the bench to try and get his fitness up and weight down . I'm noticing a difference in size

Really hope this is the case or I worry

JohnTheRedMaroon97

Believable19 Unbelievable4

If Anderson stays away from the Turkey & stuffing this Xmas I think he'll play a crucial part in the campaign next year.

Also I think the start of 2013-14 I think he'll be our main man in a 3 man midfield. With Scholes & Giggs gone :-( Anderson will carry the torch.

TJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Every time he started this season he was literally dead after the 50th or 60th minute. I think it is obvious that SAF wants him to finally get some fitness before he makes him a central part of the team.

We should just play Cleverley instead of Scholes.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with the last post he looks dead after 60minutes, however I think he has played quite well when he has played this season and should certainly get more opportunities as he is showing siogns of getting back to the player he can be

it seems that people always think our best players are the ones that dont play.
jred

Believable19 Unbelievable5

Perhaps that's because when they come on, they chnage the game.

AJH

Agree1 Disagree0

No. Its just that when u pick a 38 year old and a recovering sick person as your two central midfielders and then compound the crap tactics by selecting a one footed winger who can't go past his man and finally puttinga centre fforward on the left wing, then the mixture of those led us to believe that perhaps these tactics will not work. And I think we were right!

After all the pain , all the suffering he has endured during the last one year , the rise from the prospect of having to retire early from the game to scoring at a crucial moment is truly remarkable. While the stretford erupted the scot was close to tears, Darren fletcher huge respect and kudos.

Fletcher and Scholes were appalling in midfield today until Anderson came on and changed the game. SAF needs to have a good look at his team selection. cleverly and Anderson played the best football of the season in the first six games last season. Anderson was the game changer today.

PS Happy for Fletcher that he has returned to fitness.

Agree1 Disagree1

Nice to see darren score but his overall game today was very poor along with scholesey, young, evra and particulary danny.fergie needs to play a younger faster mobile midfield all the possesion in the world doesnt win you a game if you pass the ball sideways and backwards instead of running at the opposition at pace.anderson completely changed the game

Who else felt a little of excitement when Nick Powell swiped the ball between M'Bia and another player and found himself yards of space, seems like we have a star on our hands.

-JakeW

Believable40 Unbelievable3

Nick Powell is a class youngster and could be a top player for years to come but it is all about whether he gets game time.

Agree1 Disagree0

He is magical with the ball at his feet! He should start ahead of Welbeck IMO

Agree2 Disagree1

Danny had too many minutes on the pitch today for no end product ,very poor
johndenton

Agree1 Disagree0

Danny has no football brain and wastes chances and gives the ball away to often. Not ready for the first team yet!

Agree1 Disagree0

It's frustrating to see people slating Welbeck when he's being played out of position. His partnership with Rooney was good at the end of last season, and he consistently scores for England when played up top. He's very one footed so makes a terrible winger (where he used to play before loan), which is why he was initially cast away by SAF before excelling up front for Sunderland.

Agree0 Disagree0

Powell deserves to start ahead Welbeck. He is as talented as any 18 year old out there an seems to have his head screwed on unlike Ravel and Pogba.

What a difference when Anderson and Chicho came on. Presumably we will start the next game with Carrick and Giggs in midfield and do this all over again (Scholes will be serving a one match ban). Why oh why can't SAF start with Anderson and Cleverley?

The way our wingers are playing at the moment, I would play a diamond with Carrick at the back, Anderson and Cleverley in the middle and Rooney (or Kagawa when fit) at the top of the diamond, with two from Chcho/RvP/Welbeck up front.

Mike B.

Believable31 Unbelievable1

I could not agree more... all season our wingers have been awful and our worst players. A diamond with Fletcher, Carrick or Jones at the bottom then Cleverley and Anderson then Rooney at the top and Chicho and RVP up top would work.

Agree2 Disagree0

At the start of last year we saw a glimpse of Anderson and cleverly........it was pact, always going forward and thw team looked awake........why oh why is fergie persisting to play the slow and ponderous carrick, giggs and scholes.......Anderson drove the team on when he came on, typified by hernandezs goal.......lets hope Anderson at least starts the next game......

Agree0 Disagree0

Seems that Ando is showing more consistency and delivering what we all hoped he was capable of. With more game time I think he will only continue to get better and be more influential. If we can see it surely SAF can...

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Nov 2012 16:37:21
Is it just me that screams for anderson to start instead scholes/giggs? we play too slowly when one of the golden oldies play and anderson brings so much pace to the middle of the park. I think it's time they both hang up there boots and let anderson be the midfielder we desperately need.

Ozzy

Believable45 Unbelievable3

No its not just you, i scream everytime i see a team that includes giggs or scholes when we have cleverley and anderson who should be starting games.

Tacticallyinept

Agree1 Disagree0

Anderson certainly seems to be making a case for himself. the way he has played recently, i would happily pair him with someone like vidal, or a bender, in our midfield, he does still need to lose a bit of weight though

Jaxer

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats two or three times already this season the boss has stated anderson has changed the game yet he will still pick giggs and carrick in mid week and ando will be on the bench!

Agree1 Disagree0

The worrying thing is this..... Is Anderson performing well because he knows he might be shifted out. Of course it wouldn't make sense as Giggs & Scholes may retire. DOES HE THINK HE'S IN THE SHOP WINDOW?

I could cope with a poor showing if we were bedding in youngsters or new signings but our midfield is just poor. Players who are past it or never had it.

Last season we started off the season with Ando and Clevs in midfield and we were exciting, maybe not brilliant but exciting.

For the first time i am starting to feel like Sir Alex has lost his bottle abit. Where is the ruthlessness that has brought him so much success. I believe that if we played like this ten years ago that heads would have rolled and changes would have been made. But as time has passed Sir Alex clings to familiarity and his stubborness is maybe pushing us towards the same fate as Arsenal.

I see no end to these kind of performances while he is in charge. I have the upmost respesct for the man and we shall always be indebted to him for the wonderful success he has achieved and the way he gave us back our identity. But we are seeing with Giggs what can happen if you go on a year or two too long. I feel this has to be Sir Alex's last year in charge, and it hurts to type that.

Shappy

Believable29 Unbelievable14

Could not agree more, look at our starting line up today.

Lindegard-average
Rio-past it
Evra-past it
Scholes-past it
Welbeck-average

We cant keep carrying players who are average or past it!

Agree0 Disagree0

SFA is not past it by no meens we dont have the cash to go out and replace all the players you have slated getting but we are still a top top team we have injurys and players like kagawa have yet to show us what they are capable of i do beleave we need two new cm although powell is looking better and better and could be the answer i am more worried what will happen when SFA does go its always greener on the other side ah lads

Agree0 Disagree0

No one is "slating" players, the poster states facts. To hide from those facts means we will end up with a below par team, and win naff all. For the record I will add a few other names to the list, Giggs, and despite him scoring today, before that he was so slow it was unreal, Fletcher, I have worked with other athletes who have his complaint, and sad though it is, they have never been as good as before, and neither is he. Vidic will be very lucky to regain his past fitness, this injury is at the wrong time of his career, 25 its a big problem, 30 plus, a huge one. These players have ALL done their bit for Uniteds cause, but there comes a time with us all when we have to give way to younger fitter players, and these players are no different. The nack is, to know when to retire yourself, rather than someone else tell you. Some of the players mentioned are in danger of over doing it time-wise.

Good to see fletchs getting a start. Still cant understand why saf doesnt start ando or clevs. Maybe because of midweek against west ham. Hope rvp slots some goals today!
RD27

Believable18 Unbelievable1

Cant understand playing welbeck tho, he was poor midweek and looks out of his debth. Hopefully he will prove me wrong but i cant see it.

If players like young and welbeck dont perform today then we have to look at alternative options as we cant afford to carry players anymore.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fletcher was poor midweek so quite we he gets the nod is beyond me. Jones was fantastic midweek so back comes Evans. i do wonder at times.

Dave

Agree0 Disagree0

Anything less then 3/4-0 today will be a disaster as city are also ahead on goals aswell.

Agree0 Disagree0

Poor once again! We should be beating qpr confortably yet half time 0-0 embarrasing so far like usual.

Tacticalyinept

Agree0 Disagree0

Listening on the radio we will be lucky to win. QPR are the better team. Sentiment doesnt win games; Scholes, Fletcher & dare i say SAF the time has come we need fresh blood & fresh ideas. Evans always looks dodgy to me, surely Smalling & Jones should get a chance. Fergie seems bereft of idea's these days

Dave

Agree0 Disagree0

Jones has only just got back to fitness it would be mindless to start him twice in 7 days. Clevs is being rested for a supposedly tougher match next week and so is Carrick. Carrick has had a lot of games recently and needs a rest. Could have Ando on for Scholes as time goes on and Scholes' legs fade out a bit.

El Mundo Deportivo have made the sensational claim that Jose Mourinho and Cristiano Ronaldo could both end up at Old Trafford in the summer. It's claimed a double move would enable the coach to realise his dream of replacing Sir Alex, who it suggests will retire, while Ronaldo would appreciate playing again in front of supporters who adore him. The report reckons Sir Alex's successor will be either Mourinho, who is favourite in the Spanish paper's eyes, or Jurgen Klopp.

SO... Mourinho & Ronaldo.....

OR Klopp and a couple of Dortmund players ??

either way... I would be really really happy..

Oxred

Believable18 Unbelievable6

Mourinho and ronaldo

or

Klopp and hummels

id go for mourinho and ronaldo..

a good defense is a good offense..

Agree1 Disagree0

Someone yesterday posted about this but his source was a teacher if my memory serves right, maybe his teacher is Fergie and told him there's already a deal

Agree1 Disagree0

Mourino ronaldo?
or
klopp hummels, lewandowki, gotze, gundogan?

klopp 4 me!

Agree3 Disagree0

Still Mourinho and Ronaldo for me. We should be able to get Hummels without having to get Klopp anyway. Goetze, Lewy and Gundogan would be great but if we could get Ronney back then we are CL contenders automatically.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

Getting klopp doesnt mean we would get those 4 players jose and ronaldo for me every time ronaldo would score same amout of goals as all the other 4 put together.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd have Gerry Francis as long as he bought Ronaldo with him

Agree0 Disagree0

Pep wil be the next boss that is nailed on

CAIN

If next seasons away strip is black and yellow stripes with black shorts then expect it to be Klopp! (it can also be used to scare opposing teams who mistakenly think they are playing dortmund!)

Anyone think this is SAF's last season?
Yesterday he said "maybe after 27 years", but he is not going to make the same mistake last time. I know 27 years is like after next season, but looking at SAF yesterday the whole thing just felt like it could be his last season, who knows? He will announce it when the season ends or something like that. Your opinions guys?
MUFC19

Believable17 Unbelievable4

I think he will just refuse to retire if we lose the league to City. If he wins the league and/or the CL then he will retire IMO.

Dan

Agree3 Disagree0

Maybe that is his plan.... To lift the title one more time along with giggs and scholes then bow out with his reputation as the greatest manager ever in tact.

Agree1 Disagree0

Agree 100%. Win league or CL and bow out on top. RVP was bought to facilitate this.

Hector Herrera will arrive in January.
Deal was done last August.

Please take some pain to provide more details to ur rumour.. We will be highly obliged
Rodio17

Nothing is concrete it is not signed. Only a verbal agreement as united never fully commit to a player until the paperwork is signed on the day. This happened with Lucas and he changed his mind for PSG remember. I believe a similar proposition is in place with Strootman and his representatives but PSV are not playing ball. I think Herrera is a back up.
