According to the agent of Lewandowski, he is saying that his client has agreed to move to another club this summer. He obv didn't say what club, but if Fergie doesn't come out and say Manchester United have no deal in place. I would put money on that he will be a Utd player for next season, sadly this will be the end for Wellbeck or Henandez but let's be fair. Lewy is the dogs, hopefully we get Strootman aswell as some cheaper players, I for one will be extremely happy:-)

Believable30 Unbelievable11

A couple of months ago Lewandowski himself said he has made his decision and he knows which club he is joining this summer. With the editor saying it's highly likely he will be joining United, I think it says only one thing. He will be joining United. Surely unless something out of the ordinary happens, he will honour his gentleman's agreement and join United.

I think most journalists know he has agreed to join someone and they are thinking it's Bayern. We know Bayern want Falcao & Suarez so where would Lew fit in to that thinking? I still believe he will join us for less than £20m. However if Bayern do sign him it will be for more than we would need to pay as they are rivals. Fingers crossed lads ;)

Agree1 Disagree2

It won't be Welbeck, look how many big games he has played in. Personally I'd rather it be at the expense of Rooney who, IMO, doesn't offer much anymore as he has lost a lot. Would not be surprised to see us line up with a front 4 of Rooney, Kagawa, RVP & Lewandowski though even though I don't think Rooney ought to be here next year.

Agree2 Disagree1

I think it will be difficult to find a buyer for Rooney and it be a club he would want to join. Monaco and their tax-free may interest him, but he will not want somewhere like Anzhi for instance. I wouldn't imagine anyway. So I think he may be playing central midfield next season. If that is the case then I hope we use preseason to get him adapted to playing there. Could a two-man midfield of Strootman/Carrick & Rooney work? I am not sure, but I think we may try it out. Rooney will still be able to get forward and score goals, but I do worry if he could quicken up his thinking. When a player doesn't give him time on the ball he struggles. Modric weaves his way out of trouble, but Rooney seems to lose out and doesn't want to get the ball back. It will be an interesting summer if we sign Lew.

Agree0 Disagree1

No chance Lewandowski. No chance Falcao. Yes I am a United fan, just being realistic. I'd love either to come in along with Rodriguez, Strootman and a LB. Just can't see any massive names being signed this summer. Sorry guys.

Boyley No1 fantasy football.

Agree2 Disagree0

Still think it will be Bayern he goes to. If my memory serves me; when asked about the chances of signing him not long back he said 'but he's going to Bayern, isn't he?'. Add to that the fact that quite a few people are suggesting as much and that it's a very 'Bayern' thing to do (to buy the best players of their rivals in order to weaken them) - then at the moment my money is squarely on him moving there.

As for who would leave if we did sign him (or another striker); Welbeck is behind both Chico and Rooney in that regard. I agree that he is our weakest striker by some distance (don't get me started on the absurdities of a striker who can't score goals!) - but being a product of our youth system I can't see him going anywhere for the time being.

Are BM genuinely trying to sign Lew or are they using the Lew story as a cover up whilst trying to sign their real targets?

Agree0 Disagree0

Kloop seemed quite clear last night that Lewandowski would not be going anywhere in a hurry. I don't think he'll go to Bayern and I do think he's ours, along with Strootman. Baines may also join us if Everton are prepared to move on their £15m asking price.

Agree0 Disagree1

I think it's done he is off to Bayen, the fact Mario has joined means little about him being unable to go to Bayern. Make no mistake, I being a United Fan would love that he comes to us. {Ed002's Note - The situation with Goetze is entirely different.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Not sure about a midfield of Strootman/Carrick and Rooney, Sydney. We need someone, like Scholes, who is capable of close control and the killing through ball we can probably do without conventional wide men if both full backs push up and are capable of good crosses. A middle three of Strootman, Carrick and someone like Modric might work. Up front would be RVP and Lewandowski with Kagawa in the hole. Exciting prospect but it will mean selling Rooney as well as Nani and perhaps others.

I would much rather cash in on Hernandez than Rooney. If somebody offered 20 million for Hernandez I would snatch there hands off. He's nothing more than a goal poacher, he can't hold the ball, his first touch is terrible and he can't pass. He shouldn't start unless we have injuries, he is just an impact player that can poach a goal for you late on in a match. And by the way he is nowhere near as good as solskjaer was, he was a great goal scorer and a good footballer.
I really don't understand all this hate for Rooney it really does baffle me.
Suddenly he's no longer required at United. talk about fickle!
Can you please look at his stats this year and have a think about what your saying, the stats are superb and he's actually had a bad season.
He just needs a kick up the a*se and to get fit and be played in his proper position.

The exciting permutations, with or without Rooney, are endless. The key is for SAF to accept that he can't dictate the market and that we need to spend a lot to stay ahead. The money is there and if we were successful in Europe next season then the financial rewards are great. For about £75m we could probably get Lewandowski, Strootman, Modric and Baines. We could recoup £40m through sales.

Agree0 Disagree0

We don't need a "DM" IMO. We need a proven midfielder to partner Carrick, that's it. Jones is great at playing DM when he needs to but we don't set up like that. Lewandowski, one of Strootman or Modric and a top winger like Rodriguez/Bale/Roonie would be great. Unfortunately we seem to be in for another CB which suggests a defender will leave (my bet is Vidic). Even if Vidic leaves we don't need another CB IMO.

After lewondowski performance last night, I bet he has just priced himself out of our price range. I hope not but we all know what selling clubs are like, especially when united are involved. Here's to next season and title number 21. Fergie will know what's best for our team. Rock the Red.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd say it's very likely he's off to Bayern. 1/5 odds are pretty conclusive as are 1/5 for Falcao to sign for Chelsea. United only went to 2/1 a couple of weeks ago. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to sign of these two but it's just not happening.

I still say that Rooney is not as good anymore and will only get worse. He is an awful example of a professional the way he looks after his body, his touch isn't brilliant and he has lost a yard of pace. He is also not as good up top as Lewandowski or RVP and I think Kagawa will be far better than in him in the hole as he is a more technical player. Personally, if we had this '120 million war chest' as the papers are saying I would add to that with the sales of Nani, Anderson & Rooney and then get Strootman, Lewandowski & Ronaldo. Have a front four of Ronaldo, Kagawa, RVP & Lewandowski. Carrick & Strootman behind with our usual back 5.

Agree0 Disagree0

Didnt lewy just last week say that he wanted to see what happens to hernandez and rooney's situation before joining united? So I believe his hart is set for united but only if Hernandez or Rooney is sold. He reminds me a lot of kagawa in case of wanting the right move and don't want to mess up for anybody else. Love those kind of players!

Agree0 Disagree0

If Dortmund had kept Kagawa and still signed Reus, they'd be the best team in the world with an average team age of under 25!

Agree0 Disagree0

Frosty, could they not have shortened the odds on Bayern to sign Big Lew purely because so may punters were putting thier money on them? I wouldn't be surprised if many bet this way due to the media led push on the story, it doesn't necessarily mean the bookies have an inside scoop just that they're protecting themselves form a huge payout. I could be wrong of course, it has happened once or twice :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Accordint o the Telegraph, here's what his agent said:

""We have reached an agreement with a club and intend (him) to move this summer, "

"There is a very interesting offer for Robert which fulfils entirely the demands set by Dortmund and also the demands of Robert.

"Dortmund have assured us that Robert can move at the end of the season under these conditions.

"We stick to agreements and now it's up to the clubs to sort things out. "

So there's an agreement in place with the player and the purchasing club have agreed to meet Dortmund's terms. Sounds like he's definately on the move. Would Dortmund be daft enough to sell two star players to their closest rivals?

Agree0 Disagree0

The news says that he just signed a deal with adidas and Bayern is a adidas sponsored club. Sad sad news.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not over until the fat lady sings and she's only clearing her throat at the moment.

Bild are reporting he has signed 2 contracts. With BM one for 2013 and one for 2014 if BD refuse to sell

Sydney

You are talking complete Nonsense. You are the same guy who said we had a deal in place according to someone you know last year. Now you keep going on about some gentleman's agreement that he would come for under 20 million. What are you a child, business dealings don't work that way and you are the same guy who thought he would go for 15 million 2 weeks ago. He will go for 25 million mate and not clear where he is going.

There is no deal and this thing is a long way away from being done.

Stop reading into things, sometimes they what they are.

Dortmund have come out and said Lewandowski will leave at the end of the season but doesn't say who the club are. Sources are saying that it's Bayern or Manchester United that have agreed the deal.
It's all over a website.

Very very strong information from inner source is that bvb has accepted that lewandowski won't extend his contract whatever they do to convince him. It is made clear to united that it will take 24m for them to sell him. Considering bayerns strong interest and money power bvb is holding for that price.
Saf is not willing to go beyond 16m considering he is in the last year of his contract. And now some agents gossip says chelsea is also entering the tug of war as option for falcao. if he moves to city or bayern. But good sign to this is bayern have short listed lewy, falcao and suarez. While chelsea will confirm schurrel and have maintain interest in falcao.
While united want only lewy. Now I don't kno how much this will affect in convicing him

Rodio17

Believable5 Unbelievable3

After his performance last night £24m seems quite reasonable.

Agree1 Disagree0

$24 million for the best striker in Europe, who just put four goals past Real Madrid, whilst Goetze goes for $37 million? You're having a laugh.

Funny how many people have a inner source a lately or a contact on the inside.

Agree0 Disagree0

£24 million for a striker in the last year of his contract, now where have I heard that before? oh yeah that's right RVP, what happened to him. if that's what it takes then that is what will be paid

I have heard that Danny Welbeck may be loaned out next season if Robert Lewandowski makes a move to the reds, and are unable to sell Javier Hernandez

Believable10 Unbelievable20

Hernandez will have no shortage of options, Atletico being the main one. Really think that we have to sign Lewy, he would be our forward for many years after RVP has hung up his boots. I fancy RVP to start on the right hand side a bit more next year, Kagawa in the hole and a new left winger with Lewandowski up top. Strootman and Carrick behind and we are onto a winner. {Ed002's Note - Subject to Adrian Lopez moving, Atletico might be less of an option now for Hernandez as I think they have resolved matters regarding Falcao needing to be replaced.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Danny Welbeck will be moved to a wide position from next year and not be played as a front man.

NathanaSe7en

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would you stupidly want to get rid of Hernandez? There's no logic at all with that transfer.

According to the Manchester Evening News, David Gill has said that clubs should be careful because SAF is looking to strengthen his squad when the transfer window opens. Well let's hope so!

Hopefully the get Ronaldo back for 65 million and more players
