So apparently all the talk in tomorrow's papers for what it's worth, is that we're signing Schneiderlin, won't hold my breath but great if true

Believable4 Unbelievable0

25 Jun 2015 22:30:46
Hearing reports Arsenal are unwilling to meet Southampton's valuation of Morgan Schneiderlin as Wenger believes it to be over the odds. If this is true then perhaps ourselves and spurs are fighting for his signature. Some on here have said he's not good enough but he's 25 great age. He's premier league proven so no major settling in needed and 20 to 24 million could be good business. He's strong,good passing range and tidy player. Watch this space??

Totally agree ! Would def improve our team -a no risk signing who showed his class last year on and off the field - when he was refused a transfer he just settled down and got on with it / great replacement for Carrick

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Jun 2015 08:13:39
If it is true that arsenal have backed off and it is between us and spurs for his signature, then that would be some great piece of business on our part.

We would now be in the driving seat, as the player does want to leave for champions league football and Spurs would not be able to offer that. We could probably get him for a lesser price than quoted.

Say Arsenal did bid and it was being considered we could improve on that bid if we wanted to.

This is all speculation, hoping I'm correct.

Imagine getting Schneiderlin for £18-20mil and Schweinsteiger for £8-10mil. That'd be +-£28mil for two top midfielders!

We would have a midfield 3 between Herrera, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger and Carrick.
Even put Fellaini and or Mata depending on our opponent and tactics.

He's 25, what better reason to sign him?

Greetings United fans,

I don't normally post on this page as I'm a Liverpool fan, but a pretty pragmatic one. Anyway I got kind of curious about the ramps situation and am friends with a few peeps in Madrid. I thought I'd share my info, the people I know don't believe ramps has any intention of leaving and is angling for a better contact, further still I'm told perez is about to relent and give it to him as he has been told by his coaching staff that funding someone of his experience, ability and nationality all in one package is impossible.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, be a great signing of you got him. Perez could still decide to sell but his people are strongly advising him not too

Everytime is says ramps just pretend it says ramos

Haha could this be more fishing?!

25 Jun 2015 19:10:28
Didn't realize Mark Ramprakash was a) Of interest to United and b) under contract at Madrid.

25 Jun 2015 19:37:09
I dunno what you mean by fishing. I'm a genuine poster, I'm sure any of the eds can confirm that I share info regarding Spanish and Italian transfers from time to time.

I'm not the type to wind people up of that's what you mean

Agree3 Disagree0

25 Jun 2015 21:04:04
Most big name players like to flirt with us to get themselves a bigger contract. I have no doubts this is what's happening here and in a week or two we will see the yellow bar on sky sports showing he has agreed a new deal. Becoming a very regular thing

25 Jun 2015 21:37:37
Always been a fan of Mark Ramprakash. Went down in my estimations after strictly come dancing. Will certainly be back in the good books if he signs for United though.

Thanks Nevada, I think it's been accepted by many of the posters here that he's only wrangling, and with every player that ever lived being linked with United, we hold our breath until little ed is grinning in his golden eagle bowtie and star spangled cufflings, sitting next to '"said star" with a pen after signing on the dotted line, and holding up a jersey with his name on it. I've a t-shirt and on it Georgie Best is wearing che Guevara's hat, only legends need apply.

You're welcome penfold. Not all of us Liverpool fans harbour bitter hatred. BTW say hi to Dangermouse for me

Is the any news on the Bastian Schweinsteiger rumours, are united genuinely interested and do you think Schweinsteiger would be open the move considering the comments made by franz beckenbauer earlier today.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

25 Jun 2015 18:40:08
Bastian is his own man and will make up his own mind. Beckenbauer won't influence him.

Agree2 Disagree0

25 Jun 2015 18:44:15
I'd like it to happen but seems unlikely

What comments did Beckenbauer make?

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Jun 2015 09:59:17
He thinks he would be crazy to play in the EPL that he should finish his playing career at Munich

De Gea has put his house up for sale, so that's for sure he is gone this summer.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

25 Jun 2015 14:58:21
This story comes out every year, the old house sale, standard story when there is no news.

25 Jun 2015 14:42:40
it was inevitable he was going just hope we don't get ripped off just because he has a year left,

we shouldn't settle for anything less that 25 million

25 Jun 2015 14:44:48
Or buying a bigger house LMAOF

25 Jun 2015 14:56:53
Were u still hopeful?? When the last time Madrid didn't get who they wanted???
Its just a mater of when. And for how much

Not hopeful, not to fussed either way.

Ramos Update: Man Utd bid 32m pounds yesterday. And they are willing to go till 40m. Madrid looking at 46. Ed, can you confirm? Does it look possible? I feel Utd might meet Madrid half way.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - sorry I know nothing of any bid by United.}

25 Jun 2015 12:47:48
Surely DDG is worth more than Ramos!

25 Jun 2015 12:56:33
mbd,

Why would he be?

Agree1 Disagree1

25 Jun 2015 14:38:56
Sergio Ramos has been a world class player for longer than De Gea, and outfield players are more expensive than goalkeepers.

Agree0 Disagree1

25 Jun 2015 15:15:25
Because he is 23 and has at least 12 years at the top left, he will be Spain's number 1.ramos has 2 to 3 yrs left before he goes to the mls or Qatar

Agree2 Disagree0

25 Jun 2015 15:54:45
ild rather buy hummells or otamendi for the price being quoted

Agree2 Disagree1

25 Jun 2015 16:52:57
I just hope we are not wasting our time behind Ramos without being certain of interest from his side.

Let's not end up with another Alves situation here.

25 Jun 2015 18:05:07
😮😮😮 Why not add a few £mil and go for Varane!!!!

26 Jun 2015 03:37:49
Because Ramos is a much better player Patzi

Liverpool have a 12.5m pound bid for Clyne accepted by Southampton. He will sign a 5 year contract and have a medical next week.

I thought United wanted him. 12.5m is a joke!

Watch the space for official confirmation.

25 Jun 2015 12:52:19
I am fairly sure we dropped our interest in Clyne. Liverpool had a free ride, and they just had to cough up enough money to satiate Southampton's desires.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Jun 2015 14:14:13
Last seasons stats comparing Valencia to Clyne are Valencia coming out on top, i think van gaal rates Valencia and won't panic to buy a RB when CB and CM needs looking at first.

Agree2 Disagree0

25 Jun 2015 14:49:33
Clyne is a much beter RB and i hope we have someone else lined up. Valencia is useless crossing the ball.

Hi Eds,
Few outlets reporting a formal bid in the region of thirty million placed for Ramos. Is this just more hopeful reporting or is there substance? Thanks in advance.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - there has been no formal bid placed.}

25 Jun 2015 11:11:29
So has there been an informal one been placed? ;)

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - no, all Man Utd bids are placed in a tuxedo since Edward Woodward took charge. He can't abide informality.}

25 Jun 2015 11:29:48
I like it ed :-)

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it shows a certain level of class befitting Manchester United I believe. The courier firms delivering paperwork have complained that it is difficult to do up the bowties though, which has led to the current hold up in transfers as the search is on for couriers who have employees able to do up their dickie bows.}

25 Jun 2015 11:39:52
Sounds like the sort of thing Woodward would pride himself on.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jun 2015 11:46:41
Any idea where Ed stands on bids placed in smart casual?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he frowns on it. Should have heard the howls when someone tried to do so with a jacket and jeans. It was an immediate dismissal.}

25 Jun 2015 12:08:11
So we have connections in DHL surely and still have couier issues? It shows the sorry state of this world

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - scary isn't it? All that sponsorship money and they can't even find a courier who knows how to do up a bow tie? I blame the youth of today, if they spent less time texting, they would be able to use their thumbs for meaningful tasks.}

25 Jun 2015 14:12:48
Good on Ed, nothing wrong with a bit of class and refinement! I'm happy to wait a week or two longer, while the scruffs learn to do up their own dickie bows, I hope Ed will inspect for those hideous pre tied ones, and eject accordingly. Shoes must also be spotless as in a military inspection, clean underwear (wouldn't fancy checking that myself though), centre parting a must and teeth sparkling. We could be waiting a while for reinforcements, especially going by the delivery chaps I have encountered!

Any truth in young right back janko moving to Celtic??

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - Celtic are trying to get a deal done yes. Ed007 is getting very excited about it.}

25 Jun 2015 10:49:41
A lot of people on here thought he could have made the step up to the first team, will be a shame if we let him go

Agree1 Disagree1

25 Jun 2015 10:31:26
Ed,
Is it a loan deal or permanent ?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note -Just now It's looking like it's permanent but knowing Celtic it could end up being a years loan with a set option to buy next summer, our CE is very cautious and frugal with money when it comes to paying transfer fees.}

25 Jun 2015 14:00:09
Cheers guys!so would he be a good signing then?excuse the ignorance I don't know much about the lad!?

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jun 2015 17:34:12
Jones i thought he looked like he had the potential to make the utd first team. He is fairly quick, technicaly sound and can beat a man with a trick (i don't mean like a lady of the night for all you perv's) but on the downside he is obviously still raw in his decision making. I couldn't be sure he will become world class but am of the opinion he was showing enough potential to warrant some first team opportunities (as a sub or in early league/fa rounds against what most would call easier opponent's)
