Ed 002 what are the chances of Real Madrid releasing Modric this Summer? {Ed002's Note - I understand Modric will be offered as part of a deal for another player by Real Madrid. Something they are trying to do more of to help fund their summer spending. It means he will be available, but I am not aware of interest from Manchester United.}

Believable10 Unbelievable4

I'm guessing it's bale?

Agree0 Disagree1

Modric = tooo old, no thanks!

Agree0 Disagree4

He is 26? Some people said RVP was too old. Look where that got us!

Probably won't happen but he would be a great addition to the midfield.

Agree1 Disagree0

Thanks Ed 002. Pity he could be the missing link in midfield if Strootman arrives.

Agree0 Disagree0

After the way he acted at Tottenham would they actually take him back Ed/are they interested in taking him back? {Ed002's Note - I don't know.}

Agree0 Disagree0

The interest in Modric is still there. Alex Ferguson is a very big Modric fan and I'm sure that Fergie will pounce if Modric becomes available to purchase this summer.

Question for the ed's. I've heard juventus want Nani. United want 25 million euro's but juventus have only offered £12 million. Any truth in this? Thanks. {Ed004's Note - I don't know}

Believable15 Unbelievable5

How could we get any more for him if we let his contract run down to 1yr

Agree0 Disagree1

I don't see how we could demand 25mil Euro for him with 1 year left. Anything close to £15m (which is much less) would be worth taking IMO.

Agree4 Disagree0

Zenit's 27m euros offer was accepted in the summer by United, but United will be aware that he will lose probably a third of his value due to being in his final year. So 18m euros (£15m) seems fair. I can see why Juve would offer £12m to get the ball rolling if true.

Sydney!

Agree4 Disagree0

Best thing we can do is get more than one club interested to set up a bidding war. Is it true that PSG are interested Ed? {Ed004's Note - Hopefully}

Agree0 Disagree0

Any reasonable offer, say £15m or more, and we should bite their hand off.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just giv him away to a crap team I a crap league i'd rather have a kid who plays sunday football at times on the team rather than a crap money grabbin fool. duhhh nani kick the ball. ?

Agree1 Disagree0

£12m-£15m would be a good deal for a player who hardly plays and is in his last year of his contract.

This was a rumour that was in the back pages of "the sun" newspaper last Thursday.

I'm not sure if there is any truth but I do think there is a chance that Nani could be leaving this summer.

Good news to hear United plan on taking Wellington Bueno on preseason tour. If true it would be great to see Henriquez, Powell, Januzaj & Wellington get a run-out. Will Mats Daehli go on tour too?

Sydney!

Believable19 Unbelievable5

Andreas Pereira should be on tour

Agree1 Disagree0

Why not let's these lads get a real taste of the premiership in the last couple of games

Agree1 Disagree0

Def want to Januzaj, Daehli, and Pereira but will see. Januzaj will be on tour for sure.

Agree0 Disagree0

That would be great to see!

Can anyone give me any info on Bueno in terms of position, age, how sought after/promising he is? Any info would be appreciated I know not too much will be known about him yet, thanks.

I think its too soon for perierra and maybe daehli. The five i'd take on tour would be Januzaj, Cole, Lingard, Henriquez and Michael Keane. With the last four all getting season long loans after the tour, the last two prem loans.

Agree0 Disagree1

Not long turned 17, central midfielder. In Brazil they say he has the look of a young Kaka. Plays for Desportivo (our partner club). His agent is the super agent Ribeiro. Robinho, Neymar & Lucas Moura's agent. The kid must be highly sought after for Ribeiro to get his claws into him.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Januzaj and Powell may get some minutes in in the PL before the season is over but like Fergie was saying the other day he respects that we've got to put strong teams out and compete as if the title isn't yet ours, for the sake of other teams fighting certain battles such as CL qualification.

Ozwald

Agree1 Disagree0

Cheers Syd, love seeing us go for exciting youth players. Let's hope his agent doesn't start playing tricks with us!

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love to see Januzaj and Daehli get some pre-season action. Both have the potential to be world beaters imo.

Agree1 Disagree0

It's said that Wellington is actually ahead of Kaka at the same age, sounds really exciting. Aguilar is also one we're interested in from Desportivo, a tall CF that has been likened to Ibrahimovic and plays a year ahead of his age group in the Brazillian youth teams. He's supposed to be rated the highest out of all the Desportivo kids we're interested in.

heh lads got this from a very good source, the 2 players coming in are done deals for STROOTMAN and LEWY, the boss also wanted ronaldo back but has been given no encouragement from real or the player himself, so the player he says he will push the boat out for is BALE if spurs don't qualify for champions league and if levy will discuss it, fergie believes the player wants the switch.
BIGAL REDFOREVER

Believable45 Unbelievable12

Your source is?

Agree0 Disagree0

Fingers, toes and eyes crossed in anticipation.

Agree2 Disagree0

That would be excellent. While Ronaldo is fantastic, his commitment to the team is not always great, bale has room to grow and would be great on the united left

Agree0 Disagree0

Bale, Strootman (from what I have heard on this site) and Lewandowski would be a dream summer, but I doubt it.

Agree2 Disagree0

That would pretty much be my ideal summer - which sadly tells me it is unlikely to happen, lol. Just sounds too good to be true to me but if I'm wrong I'll be dancing on the ceiling! That summer would make us a lethal outfit.

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to agree, i'd be absolutely over the moon with them three coming in. All fantastic players and would help us challenge Bayern for the CL next season!

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

From what Ed has said we are definitely in for a CB as well isn't that right Ed, meaning that Vidic is likely gone? We're also looking at left wingers and would LOVE Bale here!

-------Lewandowski--------
Bale------Kagawa-------RVP
----Strootman---Carrick----

:)

Dan {Ed004's Note - Possibly}

Agree0 Disagree0

Bale is a good player but very re
Kant on his pace, without that he's average. In my view not worth more than £30m but I'm sure Levy will want at least double that, if that's the case the don't bother.

Agree1 Disagree0

Paulo, he's 23 and he will keep his pace for a long time. He's still better without his pace than people give him credit for. Great striker of the ball and great close control, that cross against city was incredible with the outside of his foot. He's got a good 8 years where he will consistently get better. He would take us up a another level like RVP has.

Dan

Agree2 Disagree0

That would be unreal but il believe it when I see them in the red of manchester

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with paulo bale is not worth more than 30million i'd rather have ronaldo than bale. bale is so overrated I think he's a good player but not worth 70million and he will never be as gud as ronaldo, ronaldo in his 2008 season scored 42 goals in 49 games he was incerdible I don't see bale doing that.

Now I'm not saying I believe this to be true, but I have heard that the 3 players Fergie wants this summer are Kevin Strootman, Robert Lewandowski and Gareth Bale.

Add all that up and it's potentially £80-90m. Of course with player sales, it could mean a net spend of around £50-60m?

Thoughts everyone?

Believable35 Unbelievable30

Id be very happy with that, we seen bale RM against city and he was just as good there as he was on the left.

Agree1 Disagree0

I have believed for some time that bale would be this summers primary target. It makes perfect sense, who better to succeed the welsh wizard. And he is so similar to Ronaldo in the way he plays, and we all know how much fergie loves ronnie. Tottenham can talk about 100m all they want but the fact is they would more than likely accept half that amount. They simply can't afford not too, especially as they want a new stadium. I wouldn't be surprised if we offered Rooney + nani for him. And I think Tottenham would take it to be honest. They are absolutely desperate for a striker and they won't get any of the big guns ie. Falcao, Suarez, cavani etc. but I think they would appeal to Rooney.

Agree0 Disagree4

That is exactly what I have been hearing as well, although for Bale our firm interest will not necessarily lead to signing given Tottenham's crazy demands unless they don't qualify for CL and Bale forces a move through like Berbatov did!

The offers for Lew and Strootman won't surpass 20m euros which we can certainly generate through player sales (Nani and Anderson alone)
Our reported 50m pounds budget is as much as we would go for Bale.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh and yeah I forgot we are also in for Cabaye!

We will def sign to midfielders this summer if we can get our way as I have mentioned time and time again.

Art

Agree0 Disagree0

So you think if we offer them Rooney A) they could afford his wages and B) he'd wanna move to spurs, a club not challenging the league and can't even confirm champions league?

19JackC94

Agree1 Disagree0

That would do nicely. I doubt it will happen though. G Bale isn't coming.

Agree1 Disagree0

I thought we declared in last years share prospectus that yearly net spend would be £25M?

If SAF has big spending in mind, Nani, Anderson and maybe Rooney could fund such a spree.
