breaking rumour from deutch media. Manchester United are intersteted in strootman but agreement is close and the announcement will be annouce after the u21 championship where strootman is playing for holland
these is the link.

nl/nieuws/270551_ook-moyes-wil-strootman-graag

Believable25 Unbelievable13

He's 24 in February and a full International didn't think he would be involved in u21 comp
Dylan

Agree0 Disagree0

If you're under 21 at the start if the qualification progress you are eligible throughout, otherwise the squad that plays at the finals would contain none of the squad that started the qualification process.

Agree1 Disagree0

Haha he's captained the senior side I think more than once, it would be an insult to put him back into u21 levels besides I thought he was 23?

Ozwald

Agree1 Disagree0

Sure he is involved and he is the captain of holland u21 for the championship starting in june 5.
feel free to check uefa. com

Agree0 Disagree0

Think you will find he is in the u21 squad even though he's 23 as he qualified at start of qualifying! Think a few of you owe the man an apology

M Ticka

Agree0 Disagree0

Just read the article using Google translate and it doesn't say he's joining after the U21 tournament it just says there's interest and mentions he is going to the tournament.

Nothing new there really and certainly not a 'breaking rumour'.

RebelRed

Agree0 Disagree0

Strootman would be a brilliant addition to the team, an over due signing which should of been pushed harder last summer.

Haha what is that link? It's about as legitimate as Barry Chuckle being appointed Chelsea's new manager.

Exactly how long is a lengthy long hour of talk then??

There's this rumour I heard today that United and Nike are finalising a deal to C Ronaldo back to Old Tratford. Any truth in this eds?

fmy {Ed004's Note - I don't know}

Believable22 Unbelievable14

If only it were true

Agree0 Disagree0

If I was Nike I would not like a star asset playing in an Adidas shirt, they can't finance it directly because of 3rd party ownership malarkey, so maybe as part of the new kit deal the pay a certain amount upfront so that that money can be used if that's more legitimate

Winston

Agree0 Disagree0

Winston, you are pretty much on the right lines as for what would happen.
The reason Nike are involved in a possbile funding is because of the upcoming financial fair play rules.
To stop us paying him so much, Nike are willing to offer him endorsment money along with being a front face of Nike. Similar to what Addidas used to do with Becks.
The main difference though with us a Mdrid where hs currently is, is that he wouldn't have to give up 50% of his endorsment money. This is something that each player at Madrid has to do and always has done.

A web site claims we are on the verge of completing the deal.

Agree0 Disagree0

No deal done. its only on caughtofside. com
and I don't believe anything from that site.

Gareth Bale is reported to have handed in a transfer request!
What do y'll think?
Man utd or real madrid?
I am wishing he comes here? {Ed004's Note - I was just thinking that by signing Baines, Strootman/Modric and Bale this year it would let us remain competitive in the league and then next summer we could improve further on the team and make it so we only need 2-3 signings next year to be up competing in Europe}

Believable6 Unbelievable26

That is a very good idea. But I will give our two left backs a season long chance. I have high hopes for fabio and buttner

Agree0 Disagree2

Would love to see Bale coming to the club - along with Strootman and one of the two Barcelona players we are linked with.
We were competitive enough in Europe this year so the 3 of those would make us much more competitive.
Baines is what 28/29? I wouldn't spend that sort of wedge on a player that old - if we are to go for anyone why not Luke Shaw? Either way I'd let Paddy and Buttner alternate at left full next season and look to bring someone in then.

Agree1 Disagree1

Yeah
I will be happy with strootman, bale, thiago and zaha. Wellington bueno if he is ready. I want Rooney to stay but if he leaves I will give is shirt number to kagawa and will go with this line-up.
David de gea,Rio ferdinand.Nemanja vidic.Rafael.Evra.Carrick.Strootman
Valencia/ nani..Zaha/nani.Kagawa.Van persie {Ed004's Note - So you would sign Bale and not play him? Also people are expectin way too much from Zaha next season on here. Currently watching the play offs final and his decision making is very poor. There is potential there but he won't be a main player for us next year imo}

Agree1 Disagree1

Agree with Ed004 on Zaha, he has a lot to do to make it to this level. There's potential there but nothing more.
Have heard now that the bale transfer request story is a spoof? {Ed004's Note - I don't believe the Bale rumours atm}

Agree1 Disagree1

Where did u hear that from. Utter rubbish.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am amused by people posting bs and not leaving their names. They are just winding you lot up lol

Shahram

Agree0 Disagree0

Zaha will do very well next season, watching him today his teammates just weren't on his wave length it's almost like he wants to play a more technical game as apposed to constantly running down the wing with the ball you could see towards the end he was knackered. They rely on him so much to carry the ball forward I wonder how they're going to cope next season unless Bolaise can step it up notch. Don't know if you realised but he was closely marked by two players everytime he got the ball in the final third and yet he managed to nip it past both of them the majority of the time.

Confident he'll be better than Nani and Young next season anyway.

Fabregas to sign on July 1st for 23m

Believable20 Unbelievable34

Paddy power now have him on evens to join from 6/4 to join mufc

Agree0 Disagree0

IF we do sign him: Does he not play in Kagawa's position? Where will he fit in? {Ed004's Note - No I reckon he would be comfortable playing alongside Carrick or someone in a midfield two}

Agree0 Disagree0

He plays in the center. however, he can play a more forward role behind the striker. A few times he has played up front for Barca, but that won't happen at United.

melwing28

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sure i've read an interview with him before were he said that his best position was deep lying ala xavi.

Keep an eye on Williams as well.

Agree1 Disagree0

Well, I watched most of the match (missed the first half of extra time) and I thought Zaha was truly awful. Is this what we have paid £15 million for? We would have been better increasing any offer for James Rodriguez than wasting our money on a showboater. Very similar to a young Cristiano, but without the obvious skill. Terrible!
Mike B.

Agree0 Disagree3

Mike are you being sarcastic?zaha was fantastic, end product needs work but we need a player like him, he's a huge prospect and I think he's good enough to be starting for us.

phil

Agree2 Disagree0

Mike B you having a laugh mate? Zaha was the stand out performer, the only player on the pitch that could take the ball past multiple players. Williams also looked quality but got subbed off too early on. Besides the defending in the top teams of the championship isn't much different from the defending in the bottom teams of the PL and we know the PL is much more difficult for attackers to look amazing in than the Portuguese league so don't be so negative. JESUS CHRIST.

Ozwald

Agree1 Disagree0

Also the wages we would have had to offer Rodriguez would have been almost double what we'd offer Wilf.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Zaha still very raw but showed plenty of ability today, not scared to take people on and very strong

United to conclude strootman deal till friday. Today 20m fee has been agreed and united board believes personal terms will not be an issue.
Hope the news about alacantara or febregas is correct. But if we consider fergies statement that everything is in place for a big signing I feel it has to be febregas.

Rodio17

Believable22 Unbelievable26

I hope you're right mate, but is 20 million not a bit steep? How sure are you about this?

Agree0 Disagree0

Word on the street is bale

Agree0 Disagree1

I guess its 20m euros. so may be its 16 to 17m sterling.
Rodio17

Agree0 Disagree0

27 May 2013 09:17:33
Sadly Lewi joining Bayern in next few days supposedly according to his agent

Believable32 Unbelievable9

27 May 2013 02:33:25
Thiago Alcantara looking set to sign after the Euro under 21 championship. He has an 18 million euro release clause, he has been deemed surplus to requirements at Barca with Iniesta, Xavi and Busquets being the main three with Fabregas and Song as cover and he is desperate for first team football with a spot at next years world cup pivotal on this. To me it seems a no brainer for all three parties, united get a soon to be world class creative central midfielder on the cheap, Barca recoup a fair bit of the money they have spent on Neymar for a player not in favour and Thiago gets the first team football at a top team that he needs and deserves.

Believable35 Unbelievable9

27 May 2013 10:44:02
So he uses us to get in the world cup squad. And then in two years time when Xavi retires he starts agitating for a move back to Barcelona. Is he really worth the headache. If I was to sign anyone from Barcelona it would be Fabregas and Sanchez.

Agree1 Disagree0

Why would we want a someone who we are going to turn into a world class player then in a couple of years time going to kick up a fuss to go back to barcelona? just not worth the trouble! we want players who are in it for the long term and who want to be at united!

Agree0 Disagree0

I just don't think long term players are out there anymore lads. All we can hope for if we get him is that he is a success and if he wants to go back to Barca in a few years that we get a very large transfer fee for him.

Steo

Agree0 Disagree0

Hate the way u lot talk. Who is to say what will or won't happen. Like many other players he may come to united and fall in love with the club. Other than ronnie who else has come to united andalways wanted to play for someone else. And even if he moves on, so what. C'est la vie. 2, 3 or 4 yrs, we will have a quality player that we have been craving for some time. You would be moaning if we didn't bolster the midfield

Agree1 Disagree0

It is just a rumor not confirmed yet, even if it is confirmed we need not waste our time to think that he will wish to go back to Barca. I believe if we can build our team to be consistently at the top, Barca will be history as all good players will always want to identify with us not Barca or Real except on rare cases. I wish we can build a team that will standout for long and see which player will play for us and want to move elsewhere.

Just heard that Falcao is set to have a medical at Monaco. A real shame, so much talent gone to waste in a team that doesn't have a sniff at champions league football. He will never be remembered and will never become a legend.

Believable35 Unbelievable4

They will be in the champions league in 2 years. By the looks of it they are building a pretty good team {Ed007's Note - They will have gained CL football in 12 months time.}
