Can't buy every promising Looking player we find though. Else we end up with more players like Anderson, Macheda, Young, Zaha. the list goes on.

I was reffering to when we were linked to him and the quoted price was £40 million which we didn't pay, also it was 45 million euros which is around £36 million plus add on. We were probably put off more by the ownership of the player which was unclear

Various reports suggesting that we have agreed personal terms with Vermaelen, just final fees with Arsenal to be finalised. Also a fee with Feyenoord has been reached for de Vrij. That would be the experienced and you get centre backs we have been calling for. Not the biggest names but one has great potential and the other has the experience and attributes that van Gaal believes are important. Would be good if these go through.

I think we need to just wait, if this week has showed us anything it is that an awful lot of work goes on behindvthe scenes and papers/twitter/Internet sites are sometimes full of guess work.
In the past day we have apparently agreed fees with 3 centre backs. we are only expecting 1 to come in. surely 2 would mean one of our current crop being released.
Hopefully we will see one of these come off in the next few days but we may have to be patient.
