ESPN reported Thiago to Utd move very close after the insights from a OT personnel supposedly. Any thoughts fellas?

I'm desperate to see the deal confirmed, along with Strootman's. They will be great signings.
RDG

Agree20 Disagree3

I'll only believe when he's actually playing.
Too much deceptions over the last couple os seasons.

Agree29 Disagree4

Would be our best signing for years.

Dan

Agree11 Disagree4

I guess RVP was a rubbish signing then?

Agree11 Disagree2

Wouldn't say it is deception. it's a lot of media hype trying to push things through before it is possible.

I would say that the news is the same as the day before and the day before. however, if they have their sources right on this one, it would be nice to see him unvailed on Friday!

SB

Agree4 Disagree0

Who said RVP was rubbish. Folk just don't seem to realise how big a talent Thiago is, he's one of the most talented footballers in the world and IMO will be as good as Xavi very quickly.

Dan

Agree8 Disagree0

I agree Dan, Thiago is imensely talented and given he will play in the area of the pitch that we've required real class for 3-4 years could be key for us.

If he does sign I'm excited to see how he will link up not only with Kagawa and RVP but the likes of Petruci, Januzaj and Daehli who all look like very good technical players.

Agree3 Disagree0

I say give him his buy-out clause if he doesn't get enough games; he is class act and I highly doubt he wouldn't play week in week out in our team. If he is not good enough and doesn't play, so be it, let him leave.

Roland

Agree7 Disagree0

Apparently a number of sites are reporting Thiago to be unveiled at DM's first press conference. Don't know about the credibility of the news as yet.

Agree1 Disagree2

He will replace Scholes, 4 years late, but he would be a great signing. Now we need a replacement for Keane, fortunately there is no word on what Moyes thinks of the highly overrated, (on here anyway). let's hope that means the reports of him staying in Holland are true. Or he goes somewhere else, whilst we look for a good athletic, skillful midfielder with strong defensive qualities.
Mik

Agree1 Disagree0

Funny you should say that Mik, but for a while now, I've been hearing rumours that we're linked with a Dutchman possessing just those attributes.

Seriously though strootman almost fits that criteria, alternately, Mendy might be good if he hasn't signed anywhere yet.

acccording to papers in norway mats daehli is off to molde in a permanent deal, hope its wrong have high hopes for him and petrucci

Believable6 Unbelievable15

Id be suprised if this has any legs, i'm sure he's very highly regarded by utd and can't imagine them letting him go as he's shown huge promise, maybe its a loan deal although I would of thought utd would want him in the reserve team for the coming season.

phil

Agree9 Disagree1

I think its a loan deal been considered utd rate him very highly so doubt there going to get rid of now!

Agree6 Disagree1

Highly doubt it, maybe on loan but he's got a lot of potential and he knows it so a transfer back to Norway doesn't make sense.

Ozwald

Agree5 Disagree1

I think a loan deal would benefit all three parties. He will not be going to Molde permanently. I think Daehli & Petrucci are very talented, especially Daehli being much younger, but the two to watch from the youth is Januzaj & Powell.

Sydney!

Agree11 Disagree4

Went to my first under 21 match at old Trafford last month and saw Januzaj play in person and I have to say that I am desperately hoping things turn out well for this kid with us in every way, such a fantastic prospect, I would be honestly more excited about this development in the near future rather that any signing that we make

Hbaruas

Agree7 Disagree2

Apparently he's had a medical at Molde today and it sounds like it's a permanent transfer.

Agree1 Disagree0

If it's permanent then it's because he has asked to leave MU. MU think very highly of him although he doesn't seem to be growing much ;)

I still think it's more than likely a loan or there is some sort of buyback clause involved in the deal, but if it's permanent then good luck to the lad.

Sydney!

Agree1 Disagree0

Just signed a 2 year deal with Molde.

According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf PSV have announced that Kevin Strootman will stay with them for another season - anyone know if there's any truth to this? Many seem to have been convinced that he's been going to sign for quite a while now.

Believable34 Unbelievable10

He'd have been my first signing. But it seems Mr Moyes is more keen to sign a centre half and a defender.

Agree5 Disagree0

Sly Sports reporting the same, maybe appointment of DM means a change of targets?, also reporting large number bets on Vidic to Bayern, hope not, although if reports of Garay interest are correct then we could see a CB departure.

Charla

Agree4 Disagree2

I personally prefer Van Ginkle and Illarramendi. A midfield three of Van Ginkle, Illarramendi and Thiago would give a lot of blance and provide the front three with a lot of attacking opportunities. The only issue would be height as the only six foot plus player would be van Ginkle.

No chance of that I guess though.

Agree0 Disagree4

Why spend money on illaramendi when we already have carrick for the same role? He could make a long term replacement, but he's some way short at the moment, and that would be money better spent on a winger.

Agree4 Disagree0

True but Carrick can't play every game and we don't really have proper cover for him (Jones is far better in defence) Turncliffe apparently isn't the best on the ball so would make sense to get cover.

Completely agree about a winger, the question is who though? Most seem to have agreed moves or have signed new contracts. Draxler is apparently available and there have been suggestions we approached sporting for Bruma.

Agree2 Disagree1

Draxler will be super star. I hope we get him. He has bags of talent and one of the best youngster out there.

Shahram

Agree4 Disagree1

Just checked PSV website and no mention of Strootman at all. never mind him staying. I am all for people reporting a rumour that as yet is unsubstantiated but when it quotes a club website it is not rocket science to check it out.

Agree2 Disagree5

Hope its true as personally would much rather other alternatives to Strootman and have never seen anything substantial to us bein glinked with him either. Hope the same happens with Garay as don't understand this link either
Invisible STuey

Agree1 Disagree0

No name - it wasn't any sort of announcement made by the club it was simply the sporting director Marcel Brands being quoted by a dutch newspaper which has now been picked up by tv & Goal etc.

"We do not want to lose Strootman this summer. He knows that he will stay at PSV for another season"

Agree3 Disagree0

Vidic can go not getting any younger and is always on the treatment table cash in now I say his best year's are behind him

Agree3 Disagree1

No cover? Cleverly, Giggs, Powell, they should provide cover for thiago and Carrick, maybe even daelhi and janujaz in cup games etc.

None of them play quite the same role, butwould still make good cover, especially Cleverly who is versatile enough to adapt his style to fit his role and partner.
