I have heard from a youth coach at carrington that united are looking at Marcos rojo he is a 22 year oldargentinian left back who players for spartak Moscow. Tall strong and good going forward quite similar to heinze, would he be a decent player to take over from evra? What you think ed? {Ed001's Note - never seen him play sorry.}

Believable7 Unbelievable12

Evra is finished what a waster

Agree0 Disagree0

SAF really ballsed up with Rio & Evra, they could have both been sold for £12m-£18m 18 months ago, now we are left with two players that we may have to be released because they could refuse to leave. One thing we can guarantee is that if Spurs bid for Rio again next summer, he will be sold. Not sure who will be happy to take Evra on though? Perhaps a player plus cash deal for Cesar Azpilicueta of Marseille? They do have Rod Fanni as back-up for the RB position.

Could this happen Ed002?

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - I would not be surprised to see Rio Ferdinand ease off football after the European Championships and concentrate on his other interests. Marseille have no interest in Evra and the chances of such an exchange are a non existant according to the lady sat on my patio.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002 - Ask her what the chances are of United signing Cesar in the summer? And what is his valuation Ed? A rough estimate will suffice. I have no idea what he is worth.

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - In a rare moment where her cellphone is not welded to her ear this morning, she says the chances of Manchester United signing Marseille's Azpilicueta is less than the chances of Chelsea or Barcelona. I am not going to guess at a value.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002 - Do you believe United are undecided on whether or not to buy a right-back? Do you think Valencia could be used there in rotation with Rafael? Or do you believe a right-back is definitely on the cards for the summer? I assume your lady friend has close ties to Marseille, but is there any little nuggets of info regarding United floating about in your circles that you can share with us? Pogba? Players in? Players out? Central midfielder? Thanks in advance.

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - I don't know what the plans are for the summer - it is a real long way off right now and tactically I would not like to second guess how Valencia will be used. The recent flurries of speculation about Manchester United interest in De Bruyne appear at this time to be well wide of the mark. I said during the summer that I thought that Manchester United would perhaps declare an interest in Eden Hazard and I still think that they may do that next summer. No doubt the ACN and Euro 2012 will throw up another batch of "must have" players as well. As for Pogba, as I previously explained I don't see Manchester United wishing to sell him, but enquiries have been made with two French clubs as to the amount of first team football he would have if he were there - and one of those clubs was indeed Marseille. And she is more of an ex-wife than a lady friend.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Rojo is actually 21 yars of age

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey sydney!! dont u rate fryers as a potential left back?? and that guy at norwich on loan is also a LB.. he isnt sold yet so must be loaned with such a view from last couple of season... or SAF would have get rid of an unwanted young player of 22 years old i guess... its just my logic mate.. Ed002 dont u think so?
rodio17 {Ed002's Note - I cannot comment on the player aside from to say that he is one that much has been expected of as many youngsters. Not wishing to say he won't make it, man it is tough to make any progress at the top level. I can do no more than wish the kid well.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Fryers will be loaned out and watched closely, a loan out done Kyle Walker wonders so lets hope it has a similar outcome for Zeki. De Laet is 23 in a few weeks and has seen limited action. He has had a few loans but hasn't done enough to convince me. I think he will be sold for around £2m, but I doubt it very much he will have a future at our club.

Juventus are plotting an audacious January move for Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia.
The Serie A league leaders are eager to bolster their squad when the transfer window opens but they also face a fight to hold on to Milos Krasic.
Serbia star Krasic - a United target - has been linked with a move away from Turin and Juventus have earmarked Valencia as a potential replacement.
United are keen on Krasic and Juventus manager Antonio Conte has a contingency plan in place if he does leave.
Valencia, 26, has struggled to sustain a regular starting place in the United first 11 following Ashley Young's move to Old Trafford.
The Ecuador winger suffered a horrific broken ankle injury last season and more ankle injuries have restricted his involvement this term.
He signed a new deal which takes him to 2015 back in August and United are adamant he will stay, but that won't stop Juventus testing their resolve with a bid when the transfer window opens.

What do you make of this Ed, Anyone, paper talk or could there be something in it??

Excellent news: let them also have Park (when not falling over); Carrick, and Fletcher.

Vulcan

Agree0 Disagree0

I guess your not a Valencia fan Vulcan. IMO he is a valuble asset to the team who should be retained, as a second choice RM you won't get much better.... HERBIE

Agree0 Disagree0

Vulcan guessing you're not actually a united fan? Fletcher is a great player, has the attitude all players should have passionate but fair. Just a dip in form since his nasty virus! Carrick is great for cup games, just getting a bit old/lack of motivation. Park is also great, just has some off days.

Onto this actual rumour.. I would much rather keep valencia than have krasic! Don't get me wrong i think krasic is a great player! ever since i watched him play for cska moscow he's always excited! But considering we have young and nani, both fast, agile, creative wingers i think we're much better off keeping valencia with his physical advantages and quick decisive thinking. I still think valencia could become our first choice RB in the future if nani and young continue their form. I would love our right side to be nani + valencia (but valencia with some defensive experience under his belt of course)

Juventus are nothing but fantasists. They thought £12m will get Nani, that £12m would get Modric. They seriously believed they could afford Aguero. They cannot and any rumour involving Juventus of 2011 should be laughed at.

Fletcher is not a "great" player. Decent hard working but lacking the creative ability to make a difference and the close control to be comfortable in tight situations. Is not dynamic enough to play the style we need.
Carrick is also not "great" nor is Park. They are three workers with Carrick blessed a little more than the other two but now past his best. Carrick is calmer in difficult situations hence better able to play in central defence, he also reads the game a little better than Fletcher or Park.
Nani remains an enigma who is excellent one week and profligate the next. I would rather sell Nani than Valencia.

Park, Fletcher and to an extent Carrick plus the lack of development of Anderson are the blockers for Pogba and Co. We should not sell them all but choose who we want in our new style midfield. We need someone else as most agree but to keep on playing the blockers is negative and a little concerning.

Red Man

Out of the best teams in the premier league and the elite sides in europe our midfield is one of the weakest and before anybody says your not a utd fan i live 4 miles from ot and go to every home game.

'John'

I don't think many will argue with that mate. I would always keep Fletcher, but he should be a squad player at best, Cleverley, Morrison & Pogba are the future, but the rest are able to leave if they wish. Like 'Red Man' said, players like Park & Giggs (when played in the middle) and Carrick are preventing Pogba & Co from playing in the centre. I have been watching youth for a few years now and I have to say Pogba & Morrison are two players who do not necessarily need loans, they are able to play now IMO. I must admit it's rare to have two players ready for the big time at just 18. What harm would it be to play them in a couple of league games? Put them on the bench against Wigan or something? Perhaps with the games coming up we may see them make the bench?

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

To be perfectly honest i dont believe any of the current united central midfielders are much good. Fletcher on his day is about the best at the minute

Agree0 Disagree0

Okay well maybe fletcher isn't 'great' but he's still good, yeah obviously he doesn't lack creativity, all of our current senior midfielders do except cleverly and giggys. Anderson was looking much more promising at the start of the season playing alongside clevers, but has reverted to his former self since tom's injury. I said myself carrick is good for cup games because he is calm and controlled, although like i also said he's past it now. Park was playing well in pre season, just hasn't done so well recently. Also makes me laugh how you say these players arent great, okay maybe they're all getting a bit old and past it now but fergie has kept hold of them with money to spend in the market so does that not tell you something? I'm not saying we're fine as we are! We definitely need some injection of energy and creativity as well as solid defensive minded player into our midfield. Although like fergie said the other day a lot of our success has come from our widemen, not necessarily by having a strong midfield.

Ozwald

I meant does* lack creativity not doesn't. my bad

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Good let them take him and the other midfielders

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree syd morrison knows he is good enough you could see against aldershot he has supreme confidence in his ability and is ready for some game time.pogba also is very talented but seems to be a bit nervous when he first comes on but im sure he will be a big player for us he has everything a good passing game can score from distance and free kicks and get stuck in the future is bright the future is youth.

What does everyone think of Marek Hamsik?

I think he would be a brilliant addition to our team. Has there been any interest from us Ed's? Anyone?

RedDevil92 {Ed002's Note - There has been interest if you are a Manchester City fan. There has been speculation if you are a Manchesteer United fan.}

RUMOURS and i stress RUMOURS are United want Javier Mascherano, I don't believe them to be true but would you want him? {Ed004's Note - No}

Believable17 Unbelievable30

No.

No effing way.... HERBIE

I would have mascherano any day, he's the best in the world at his position.

Cristiano Ronaldo has not ruled out a move back to manchester ... Manchester City for Tevez + Adam Johnson + 40million {Ed004's Note - Should this not be posted on the City site}

Believable4 Unbelievable55

Wouldnt be surprised? the guys after money, all loyalty goes out the window, yeah his love for mufc is unquestioned, but money talks!

Agree0 Disagree0

He left United for Madrid, he will either play out his career there or return to portugal at some point. I think there is a slight chance of him going to City but if he does return to EPL more likely to come back to United. If the money could be sanctioned.

RedDevil92

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Ronaldo will be back, especially if we were taken over, it would be a statement and we'd do it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ronaldo will neither join Man City or re-sign for United. Not a chance.
