David Silva is not playing tomorrow against Dortmund and is a doubt for Sunday with a hamstring injury!
MUFC19

Believable29 Unbelievable10

Mancini said: "It's a hamstring. We don't know if he can recover for the derby. We will try."

Agree2 Disagree1

I've heard this before, i'd bet my last quid that Silva plays on the weekend.

Shappy

Agree4 Disagree0

Silva and Yaya will both play this weekend.

Sydney!

Agree3 Disagree0

He will be fit, its the same trick fergie pulls ahead of big games

Agree1 Disagree0

My thoughts has already been written, i´m sure Silva will play, and Yaya will benefit from the suspension against Dortmund, so he will be fit (he has looked a bit tired the last couple of games) against us this weekend.

Ed's?? Is there any truth behind Sneijder claiming breach of contract and threatening to leave on a free?? I think Sneijder would be a class free agent if we went for him. {Ed002's Note - See previous answers please.}

Robert Lewandowski is a phenomenal player and he is still young. I think any club to get him for less than £30 million would be happy so for him to be available for less than £20 million is ridiculous, I would sell Rooney if it would mean fitting Lewy in the first 11 with RVP and then sign Rodriguez, L.Bender and Strootman.

Believable18 Unbelievable38

I dislike it when fans suggest selling Rooney. Can you not see that when he isnt in the team, we perform poor and dont even drag ourselves through it? Rooney is the catalyst for our success in my opinion and to United, he is almost priceless.

Lew has 39 goals in 79 games for Dortmund
not sure thats phenomenal, its good and his only 24 so could improve.

rooney has scored 39 goals in his last 57 games for united playing in a deeper role
jred

Agree1 Disagree0

Thank god you don't manage United then if you would sell Rooney for Lewandowski, what a silly statement!

Simmo

Agree2 Disagree2

Selling Rooney would be crazy, how can people seriously want him gone? Fair enough it would generate some cash to sign 3 players but whos to say one wont flop, one wont want to do a fabregas and go back in a couple of seasons and the other be a gobrubbishe in the dressing room? Without Rooney we are very average and im sure if we did let him go players like rvp would struggle to keep getting the chances/goals his is at the moment. Wake up lads and realise what we have in Rooney.

Parks {Ed004's Note - The point about RVP isn't really valid as he was still scoring maybe more so without Rooney at the team, he started off really well}

Agree0 Disagree1

Fair point but 3 assists that came from Rooney certainly saved us, the 2 away in europe and the one on sat. Im sure he's assisted him more but not 100%. I just dont see any sense in flogging Rooney to bring in other players who are untested in the prem and wont have the same drive and influence on the team.

Parks

Agree1 Disagree0

Without Rooney we are finished in terms of challenging for the title. All these Rooney haters are insane.

Agree2 Disagree0

Sell Rooney?
Can play in any role upfront, usually helps defending, has good vision and passing and score goals.
Really?

Agree0 Disagree0

Wayne Rooney definitely is in the top 5 for the all time greats at united.. Sell him is a ridiculous comment. Any true united fan wouldn't want him sold.

Karni

Agree0 Disagree0

This might seem very cliché but wayne rooney is man utd, you take him out of that team, we would never be the same again, he is what makes us who we are, he pulls us through when we need it and loves the club, needless to say i dont agree with using lewy to replace wazza

Aaronaldo7

Agree0 Disagree0

So you'd sell a world class English striker who has an amazing all round game to buy a relatively unproven polish striker when we've just bought Van Persie?

Seems logical enough to me....

Anyway with Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck, Javier Hernández, Angelo Henríquez, Tiago Manuel Dias Correia, Joshua King, Will Keane, Tom Lawrence, John Cofie, Jack Barmby, James Wilson, Ashley Fletcher and Sam Byrne Id prefer a CM!

IrishRed

Agree2 Disagree0

To actually name bebe and take that person seriously has made me laugh & actually made my day cheers irish red

son

IrishRed, how about Lewandowski AND a CM?

Sydney!

Agree1 Disagree2

Goetze, Lewandowski and Hummels will do Thank you Dortmund :)

Shahram

Agree1 Disagree0

Sydney if were going to sign two players then a Centre Half and a CM please!

Son - he is on the payroll and costing us money, the fact he is utter sh*t is irrelevant

Agree0 Disagree0

Sydney - How about two midfielders? a Wanyama/Oscar De Marcos type and a Gotze/Eriksen/Ozil kind. Anderson, despite his being injury prone and having fitness issues, Rooney, who we could do with further up field and Carrick are our only players who can play midfield to a hight standard. It's time to say good bye to Scoles and Giggs, absolute legends, but time has caught them up. Fletcher, who still seems unwell and has even less pace then before and God knows he was never a speedster and Cleverley, who hasn't developed over the last few years and is mediocre at best.

Good AfternOon all !

Manchester United are monitoring Athletic Bilbao's Oscar De Marcos after Sir Alex Ferguson sent a scout to watch him play against Barcelona at the weekend.
The dynamic midfielder impressed against United in the Europa League last season and Ferguson was interested in bringing him to Old Trafford last summer, only to be put off by Bilbao's £25million valuation.
With the likes of Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs coming close to the end of their careers, the United boss is keen to add fresh blood to his squad to compensate for the eventual losses of two players that have been ever-present at the club.
Ferguson has now resumed his interest in signing De Marcos and sent brother Martin Ferguson, his topEuropean scout, to watch the 23-year-old in action against Barcelona.
Last year's Europa League runners upBilbao, who comprehensively beat United on the way to the final, are struggling in La Liga this season and many of their star players are said tobe looking for a move away.
This may mean the club are willing to lower their asking price for players such as De Marcos, however United can still expect to have to offer around £20million to sign him.
If bought in the January transfer window, he would still be eligible toplay in the Champions League which will provide added appeal for Ferguson as his side enter the knockout rounds of the tournament in February.

fryers

"United offered a three years contract but I rejected the offer."
"Spurs were interested but the fee [Manchester United requested] was too much. Then Standard Liege arrived with a good opportunity for me to play regular games and get experience.
"I thought it was the right time for me to leave and get experience playing in good league. I made the right decision for me."
jred

Believable2 Unbelievable11

He was offered a three year deal from United which he rejected, he and his agent (same as Ravel's and good friends with Ravel) thought he could hold the club to ransom by threatening to join Spurs. Rumour has it the manager told him to f**k off and made his move to Spurs impossible. Greed and bad advice got the better of him. He thought he held all of the cards, but with Blackett and McGinty behind him he had no real leverage. Similar to Tom Ince and Sterling situation I think.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

I love Fergies attitude towards these players. It was the same with Morrison. With Sneijder Fergie just said "you blew it, Wesley!", because of his wage demands. Although it cost us Pogba, I still feel it is the right way to go.

Agree0 Disagree0

To right aswell! why should we bow down to these youngsters demanding rediculous wages at there age! if thats what they like now imagine what they will be like in a few years. kicking and screaming for new contracts every 5mins demanding more money. if u not interested in playing for the shirt and are only interested in lining yours and your agents pockets then go play some where else!!

Agree1 Disagree0

Couldn't agree more jred and Sydney. If Fryers is happy moving from Man Utd to Standard Liege, then good luck. SAF is correct to tell these trumped up greedy kids to f**** o**. We lost Pogba, but gained Powell, we lost Morrison and with him lost a lot head-aches. As for Fryers, he was good against other kids, but theres as much chance he'll finish up in the lower leagues, than play at top level.

Anyone think mexican midfielder Hector Herrera could move to us this January? It was rumoured in the summer that he may arrive in jan as I think he was injured at the time. Don't know much about him though.
