'He's the powerful midfielder man united crave' quote from guillem balague

Javier Martinez would be my first choice given the other players that we have... BUT i think that unless an agreement is made now for the summer then we will have to get him in Jan.....

I would love this to be true..... he could be the hub of the next great team, and I also think his and Alba's arrivals would see De Gea up his game another level too.. win win...........

Agree6 Disagree6

If we brought in martinez and an out and out no.nine(goal machine) i think it would paper over alot of cracks in the first team.

Agree0 Disagree3

Martinez preferred choice of clubs in this order are Barcelona, Real, Chelsea, Arsenal, AC Milan, Man City and then us i am afraid, i think we are looking at the likes of Championship players with our finance situation that everyone knows about. {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any firm interest from Manchester United and for me the original Spanish article was purely speculation but if any English club has enquired it will likely be Manchester United or City. I was told a while back that Inter Milan may make a bid for Javi in January if they decide not to take Juraj Kucka from co-owners Genoa. I am not convinced that Bilboa will want to sell the player in January, and if they do they will want something over 40M euro. I am pretty sure he does not keep a prioritised list of preferred destinations.}

Agree2 Disagree6

How in gods name do you know Javi Martinez's preferred choice of club ? Unless of course its you Javi or his agent, If so I apologise Javi ;)

Would people be happy with Rasmus Elm, if the rumours were true and he did sign then what would the feelings be towards it?

Believable11 Unbelievable6

Frankly speaking, I know nothing about Elm but I believe... Something is better than nothing

Heard today from a quality source were after yakubu of Blackburn as he is a high quality striker unlike hernandez who had a lucky season.

Believable10 Unbelievable43

Possibly worst rumour ever?

Gav

Agree13 Disagree0

So your saying Hernandez is a terrible striker? When we have berbatov who is lazy... but that'd be to difficult to call him after the huge price tag. Your a joke! Hernandez is an amazing proven striker. Yakubu wouldn't survive a season at united.

Agree9 Disagree4

Haha ok wotever no name

matt...

Agree5 Disagree1

Theres more chance of fergie pulling his boots back on than signing the yak

Agree5 Disagree3

Must be horrible sh!tting out your mouth...

Seeing as you talk out your a55.

Ozwald

Agree6 Disagree0

Yakubu won't be playing against makeshift centre backs every week

Agree5 Disagree0

It wasn't a lucky season. It's the fact that he hasn't been back from injury long.

You wait and see, He'll come good again.

Agree8 Disagree1

It doesn't matter to me when people berbatov is lazy and scores only against weak teams. Its their opinion nothing wrong in it... But I think he wasn't given enough opportunity against top teams. He would have been very useful for us against Barcelona where Hernandez couldn't hold the ball. I don't want to go the past now...
Just want to share my opinion that he is still a top quality player we have right now

Agree4 Disagree1

Love Hernandez's attitude, work rate and predatory abilities, but even as a United fan and Hernandez fan, I have to say he is one of the worst footballers Ive ever seen in his interplay, passing and possession. He destroys buildup play, cannot pick out a pass for his life, and is unable to hold the ball up front to wait for support. He's a once in a generation poacher, but if he wants to be more than that, SAF and him have a TON of work to do, and it appears as if that improvement hasn't begun at all yet....agree/disagree?

Just been to the bridgewater hospital on the parkway for a follow up after my operation. Was flirting with the girl on reception and asked her if she knew of united booking anyone in for a medical. Typically she couldn't remember the name but she'd heard that someone with a short foreign name is booked in for one next week...

Have been racking my brain as to who it could be?!

Mega Amazing Man

Believable7 Unbelievable29

Hmm was it.. Voldermort?

These posts make me laugh, if you're were flirting with a bird at reception you'd ask for her number surely? and not medicals for potential transfers? ;) haha

Some people on here seem to believe Morrisons contract isnt up until june 2014, nonsence, its up in this summer so now he's free to talk to foreign teams, i allready knew that p.s.g were interested along with malaga, lille, inter and ajax, just seen the reports that barca are sniffing around now, 1 thing for sure is that he is the brightest talent ive seen since scholes to come up through the ranks, Alex obviously knows this aswell, but he doesnt trust him yet, hence the reason he's only got 2 carling cup games with the 1st team, Hes a long life manchester united fan but at this stage he just feels unloved, my bet is p.s.g, malaga or barca will sign him on a pre contract... Eamon D {Ed036's Note - Any evidence?}

Believable4 Unbelievable17

Why do you even bother posting tripe?

rpc

Agree2 Disagree0

Yawn.

Sydney!

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm pretty confused on the whole situation regarding his contract? I take Syd's comments on board and he seems genuine with his knowledge but then Sky are reporting it is up this summer? Please can someone clarify this? I would be gutted to lose this kid along with Pogba because they seem to be very highly rated, and to be classed as the brightest talent to come out of the United academy it would be a disaster to lose Morrison and also Pogba!

Agree1 Disagree1

Yeah i think the same, He will 100% sign a contract with sum1 this month, I heard Malaga, He's sick of not getting a chance in our 1st team. Steele

Agree1 Disagree0

But why are we letting him go if he is so good

Agree2 Disagree0

Its about time someone actually listened to facts, few people on here seem to think they know more than the papers and major sports stations, his contract is up in june, not 2014, i actually know this for a fact, i also know there is no contract on the table for him, He cant be trusted at all old traffor with his off the field antics, SAF is allowing him to leave and he is talking to other clubs starting next week, i hear malaga are favourites to sign him, despite barca, inter, psg and munich been interested

Derek

Agree2 Disagree0

A lot of people think Sky are 100% accurate, whilst they are one of the more reliable sites they come out with their fair share of bulls**t stories as well.

rpc {Ed007's Note - How can anyone on here trust S*y after the Sneijder stunt they pulled on last transfer deadline day? All their stories are geared towards betting odds. For 'SKY sources understand' read 'We have 24 hours of TV time to fill and want you to bet on this.'}

Agree2 Disagree0

'Derek'

United will not offer him a contract? Good one :)

Sydney!

Agree1 Disagree0

SAF is one of the best at man management, all i'm saying is.. I wonder how he'll develop under another manager (take into account his attitude off field and his past history with assault etc.) Will he be put in his place when he needs to in order to progress? Interesting thought..

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

So Derek does that mean SAF is letting go of our two most promising midfielders in Pogba and Morrison, although he has been raving about their potential and not signing anyone for the big black hole in the middle of the park to not slow their progress?
I don't understand why SAF didn't either sign some world-class center mid or give a chance to our highly rated talents either.

But I'd be pissed if either fulfilled their promise somewhere else!
Get them to signs contract and loan them wherever they want to go now for a year or 18 months to get them some game time

Agree1 Disagree0

^^^... meant to say morrison, the only time SAF talks about him is when hes answering a question about his off the field problems or his man united future, he doesnt have anytime for him. Derek

Agree0 Disagree0

SSN will go along with the newspaper stories. If they didn't go along with newspaper gossip they would not have nothing to report.

Ed002, if you are around, what does your database have his contract running til? 2012 or 2014? Thanks

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - It lists June 2014 Syd.}

Agree0 Disagree0

'Sydney'

Correct

''No name''

I havnt got a clue whats happening with Pogba, I just know the info on Ravel, Do you ever notice that when SAF is talking about youth he always mentions Pogba, Zeks, Tunners, Clevs, LC, Barms etc, never mentions me

Agree0 Disagree0

'Derek'

You are talking she*p, SAF has openly mentioned Ravel as a future United player, he has never commented on his personal issues. All he has done is look out for Ravel, he was even a character witness for him in court, so stop the bullsh1t please?

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard that it says on Ravel's agent's website that his contract is for 2014, if so, then it's more made up bull by the press. I hope he gets some play time soon.

Percy

Agree0 Disagree0

No way ravel would go abroad, and pogba couldnt leave until the end of the 2012-2013 season even if he wanted to.stop believing the crap in the red tops

Apparently the inter milan chief will have talks with man utd over the transfer of wesley sniejder {Ed036's Note - And here... we.... go!}

Another one, but it's looking more likely now as they need to sell him. Got a source link?

I've read the same story today on footballfriendsonline.com. States that Marco Branco is flying into Manchester this week to begin negotiations with United. How trustworthy the site is, now that's another matter.

Beckham was all for a move to PSG as was Posh Beckham due to the fashionistas being mostly Europe based. The deal was stopped by Ancelotti who sees Beckham as simply not good enough. Beckham was sought by the owners for the PR and cachet he would bring.
Ancelotti said he had no room for passengers.
The "not moving for family reasons" is all a face sabving exercise.

Here's a thought for you all. When United sold Shawcross to Stoke, SAF insisted on a buy back clause within the deal, one similar to the Romeu/Barcelona deal done with Chelsea. With injuries etc, Shawcross at 24, English and a regular starter in the EPL, this could be a good option to bring in. He is similar to Vidic (Not as good so don't start gobbing off that i'm claiming he is better, key word is similar!) With the English players already at United it would be easy for him to fit in, plus he already knows the club. He's better then Evans and would complement Ferdinand during Vidic's absence. I know we have Jones and Smalling but currently I think Jones's best performances have been in CM and Smalling is still inexperienced as a Premier League player, only been a pro 3 possibly 4 years and never been a regular!

Just a thought and an opinion, feel free to slate this idea now!

Believable22 Unbelievable9

He's a decent PL defender but that's about it. He's got a physical presence about him like Vidic but not a great deal else, still a bit clumsy if you ask me. Whilst he may be better than Evans (debatable, although he doesn't get bullied like Evans does) it'd seem like a daft move as it'd just halt the progress of Jones and Smalling in the long run. I've got a lot of mates who are Stoke supporters and they pretty much say the same, even going as far as saying they wouldn't be too bothered if they could sell him if a £10m+ bid came in.

rpc

Agree0 Disagree0

Potentially, but nahhhh! There is a reason we sold him..

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree1

I wish United put that clause in for Rossi when they sold him, I believe Fergie was to eager with getting rid of him, id like to see him alongside other strikers now instead of Owen, Diouf and sadly Berba. It would be amazing if we had Rooney, Hernandez, Welbeck and Rossi as our main strikers and they would be able to strike fear into the hearts of any defenders with Nani, Young and Valencia providing pace along the wings, i dont see how we would be lacking creativity.

Agree1 Disagree2

'Oz'

To be fair the only reason Shawcross was sold was because we had too many decent CB's. SAF has since admitted that he shouldn't have let him go.

Sydney!

Agree1 Disagree0

Would prefer someone with experience such as Phil Jagielka. He is a good professional and can organise a defence.

Agree1 Disagree0

But with quite a few centre backs, seeing as he was the one to go he obviously couldn't have been that good (or atleast not the best out of the crop we had), now i'm not saying he's bad i've always put stoke's good defensive record down to shawcross being a good captain and defender. But SAF got rid of him, and now we've bought in younger talent with arguably more potential. It was good business! The only reason he is being mentioned today is because we're lacking in defense at the moment due to injury but who knew that was coming? If we didn't have this bad luck with injuries. Syd, when did SAF say that about Shawcross? Can't imagine he would all the while he's been gifted with Smalling + Jones..

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Well put by "Ozwald". Only the oracle could have predicted this injury crisis. We have a world class defense, it's just 1 or 2 are always injured out of it. All SAF ever said about Shawcross is that he is a solid good leader, he never said he regrets or never should have let him go.

Strider 98!

Agree0 Disagree0

If United were to buy back shawcross i dont think he would be happy with the amount of time he would be spending on the bench, With all defenders Fit Shawcross would be 4th or 5th choice CB, He would not be happy with it after playing some much first team for stoke. In my opinion we dont need him.

James

Agree2 Disagree0

We do not have a buy back clause on Shawcross, although we do have first refusal should anyone else make an offer, which is quite a different scenario .
Anyway ,he is not good enough for United and would struggle to get a game when the other centre backs are fit.

Confirmed interest from SAF in Alan Dzagoev from CSKA. Could be seeing him in a United shirt if the transfer fees is agreed upon by the 2 clubs. CSKA might be asking for 20m for the player. {Ed002's Note - There is no confirmed interest at this time.}

Believable17 Unbelievable11

I would love to see him at us after his performance in the Champions league I think it was two years ago? (not sure) I've not seen how he has performed since then tbh so my opinion is biased and old!

Sanshine

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes there is intrest in him as scouts has been sent to watch him on a number of occasions...even sir alex's brother scouted him! {Ed002's Note - That is hardly confirmed interest in a player - hundreds are watched every year on that basis.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes but im related to a sporting director for cska and he told me that united are very intrested as he also told me that juventes newcastle and arsenal are all intrested in him also and that the juventes and arsenal nd liverpool are spaeking to the agent of Keisuke Honda

Now please just don't shoot the messenger but what would you's think about scholesy coming back for the rest of season? Apparently he still hangs around the club a lot and because of injuries and all that?

Now I just heard that on espn and the guy was pretty sure!

Also read it hear a few weeks ago.

Wouldn't put it past fergie either .a cheap alternative for short term and is a strong character in the dressing room!
