In reply to:

" {Ed002's Note - As much as possible - perhaps £25M and £30M.}"

Thats not too bad.!

Sorry for this, but one more:

Who do you, personally, think United will sign / move for in the Summer?

MPez

{ed002's Note - I have stuck behind Adler since the start; Coentrao remains an option; possibly Dzagoev (a cheaper option to Pastore) as someone is sniffing around from England and a striker around the 30 mark who is happy to play an occasional role - maybe even a Defoe type player. I think if you look at the major targets for the "bigger" teams - Sanchez, Nemar et al - there may be one perhaps.}

There will be 4 signings, My tip would be.

De Rossi, (Fergie big admirer), Modric (Spurs won't get in top 4, Modric wants Champ League football). My preference is Neur, De Gea full of promise but bit risky buying a 20 year old. Think a defender will be bought aswell, who can Cover RB/ CB.

Man Utd wants to buy 3 big players: De Gea, Sneijder, Ribery. Also two relatively young defenders will be bought.

Evra and Nani are likely to be sold to real madrid.

Therefore team next season:

De Gea
Rafael Rio Vidic Fabio
Valencia Sneijder Fletcher Ribery
Hernandez Rooney {Ed004's Note - I really hope and doubt Ribery will not be bought and why is Nani being sold?}

@Nani is better than Ribery, he is two years younger and far less injury prone. Evra has just signed a new deal, very unlikely Evra will leave, absolutely NO CHANCE Nani will leave.

Nani is being sold because he "wants a new challenge", also he wants a bigger contract but Man utd are unwilling to offer him as much as real madrid

{Ed002's Note - His father does much of the talking. A small percentage is also owned by a third party - TEI SA or something like that. From an agent standpoint there are strong ties to Chelsea and a representative of the club has held meetings in Washington DC and Peru - as well as in Brazil. There is certainly no done deal right now.}

@I cannot see him anywhere other than Chelsea, when Chelsea want a player they usually get him, legalities & rules won't get in their way either. They have pursued him for so long now, I cannot see them letting him slip through their fingers. I expect if United did make an official offer he would want to talk to us, but there is no evidence to suggest we will bid for him or even that we want him.

If I was a betting man I would say Real Madrid & Chelsea are favourites.

Sydney!

{ed002's Note - As food for thought Syd, I am told that there will be a contingent from an "English club" at the CSKA v Rubin Kazan game in a couple of weeks looking at Alan Dzagoev. Chelsea already know enough about the player and would never send a "contingent" in any case. Makes me think of one of the other top few clubs - but I don't know which.}

"Hey ed do u think we got a chance ov singing neymer or have chelsea got there man already and who do uthink saf will bring in in the summer thanks ed {Ed002's Note - I think Chelsea still have the edge over other interested clubs. There is of course a chance.}"

@So far only West Ham & Chelsea from England have made bids for him, perhaps if United did make a bid for him his priorities might change. We can comfortably equal Chelsea's wage offer to him, we could match the fee, so it's a matter of who he would prefer to join. Chelsea can offer him London, regular CL football, decent money and he has Brazil team mates at the club. United can offer him decent money, 76,000 stadium, years of successful history, regular CL football and we also have Brazilians at the club. Anderson, Fabio & Rafael being closer to his age group.

But I would say he's likely to be a Chelsea player next season, although if United do make an offer, he will certainly listen to what we have to say before agreeing to a Chelsea move. But as it stands we are yet to make any bid for him so until we do he is likely to be wearing blue next season.

Ed, do you think he is likely to talk to most clubs before agreeing a deal with a club?

England's biggest clubs are all chasing Santos superkid Neymar for the summer market.

The Sunday Express says Manchester United want him to replace Ryan Giggs, while Chelsea and Manchester City openly signalled their interest when bosses Carlo Ancelotti and Roberto Mancini went to the Emirates to watch him score both goals for Brazil against Scotland last Sunday.

Those three are among an elite group of teams who could afford the 19-year-old from Santos, given that his buyout clause is almost £40million.

Neymar, who spurned Chelsea s advances last summer and stayed in Brazil, is represented by agent Wagner Ribeiro and the influential Pini Zahavi, who is close to Sir Alex Ferguson.

Stockie {Ed001's Note - I think Modric is top class myself, but so is Sneijder, the only reason I could see for choosing Modric over him is that he is proven in the EPL.}

Im sorry but Sneijder is one of the only midfielders in the world you can GUARANTEE would be fantastic in the EPL. . we gotta get him!

This is just an opinion so in no way put anything to it but i would like to see evans go out on loan to regain his confidence, and i'd sell brown for wat ever we can get for him then i'd replace them with de laet who has impressed me when he's played for the first team(i don't think he's good enough for a first choice spot but is good cover and can play in any defensive position.) and phillipe mexes who's available on a free from roma. Rafael De laet Mexes Ferdinand Vidic Smalling O'shea Evra and Fabio, wat do people think of that? Personally i think it's an improvement without any expenditure leaving the money to be spent on more needed positions. We've had defensive injuries and been short of quaility cover this year, i think this would sort us out.
Shappy

I agree with this to an extent we have had a lot of injuries at the back this season which has shown that beyond our 6-7 main defenders who are in and around the 1st team every week these being Rafael, O'Shea, Vidic, Ferdinand, Evans, Smalling and Evra we don't have much cover. Mexes is a good defender who for free would be a great buy. However, I rate Wes Brown really highly. Admittedly his form hasn't been great this season but he is still very good cover. If we were to loan out Evans though having a replacement as good as Mexes come in would be great.

Just read united are lookin to sign neymar as a replacement for giggs chances are very slim but i would literaryly kill to have a skillful player like him at united can play on the left wing(left footed) and and option in front too in terms of physique that can change remember ronaldo when he first arrived fingers crossed

Ed?
What about marco storari of juve, hes experienced, good GK, and cheap, he can play for 2 more years and till then we'll have lindegaard as first choice?
what about it, ed? {Ed002's Note - I expect that the club are looking to longer term than someone in to their 30s.}

United will spend pretty big this summer. With Hargreaves' contract expiring and Scholes probably retiring I can see SAF splashing the cash. His long-standing admiration of Jack Rodwell is sure to prompt a bid. I reckon he'll get his man. Might cost £16m but I doubt all of would be paid upfront.

If we can get him I believe Sneidjer to be an absolute top quality player, and a must signing this summer. Every player has his price, maybe c£30m. Big money for a 26/ 27 year old. But he did it before with Berbatov.

I believe, however, Modric will be signed, c£24m. Especially if Spurs fail to qualify for CL. A friend of mine regularly goes to White Hart Lane and says Modric isn't worth it, gives the ball away too often and doesn't get into the box enough. No doubt he would improve our midfield but the upside of paying a pultry £6m more for Sneidjer is huge. He is such an influential player. Better than VD Vaart. Ed?

Berbatov once again proved his worth to the squad. I'm sure he'll get a new contract. He can play with Rooney and Hernandez. I expect United to offer him a higher bonus related package with a lower guaranteed pay. If he wants to stay he signs, if not, goodbye. Personally I hope he stays.

I still believe we can do better than Carrick and Gibson as options off the bench. Anderson has quality and will be given more time and Fletcher is a workhorse. Carrick has experience so I expect him to stay but Gibson's game time can be replaced by Rodwell and I'd like to see Pogba and Tunncliffe given a few games each.

Midfield options of Sneidjer, Anderson, Fletcher, Rodwell, Carrick and Pogba/ Tuncliffe. I fear Gibson holding back more talented younger players such as Pogba and Tuncliffe. Any thoughts Ed? It would be nice to have another central MF to replace Hargreaves but I suppose we've done without for 2 years now. I say give the kids a chance.

I'd love to see Sneidjer and Rodwell signed. £45-50m is a lot of money but now is the perfect time to invest. That could be end of our midfield spending for a few years.

Love to see a LW bought in too but I expect Giggs' good form to delay that signing until next year. That would also give Obertan and Bebe another year to (hopefully) progress. I have heard AOC rumours are true and SAF is very keen to tie up a deal - with Arsenal's interest known perhaps he'll go for the lad this summer. He looks a great prospect.
