I've been informed by a reliable source, Rodwell to United deal is taking place as i type, the fee is around 17m should be announced in the next 48hrs.
It seems there is a lot of hatred towards Berbatov, but where would United be now without his goals this season!?

I wouldn't read into this bale story too much don't forget that this agent is italian he is obviously going to try and get his star to sign for an italian team, therefore earning him a nice wage packet. A player of bale's quality only having interest from italy is very unlikely there will be at least 2 in england and 2 in spain that would of shown an interest.

And to say only real madrid would get him in January is ludacrist why would spurs sell him now when they have a CL run coming up. It would take a £45m plus bid to even get spurs to consider at the time being. Although be it in the summer if spurs don't qualify for CL I reckon a £30m bid would land him and in my opinion it would be money well spent.

Whats your thoughts ed and Sydney.

Neil {ed's note - he was on the video with Lennon slagging off Manchester and Liverpool, so maybe he will end up going abroad. If he really does dislike both cities then that only leaves Italy or Spain that can afford him. Though personally I am not convinced he is that special, he is marked out of the game every time he faces a decent right back and he has very few assists. The only time he looks good is when the right back has got forward and left a huge space. I would expect a top left winger to have a lot more assists than he has.}

With all this talk of us needing a creative midfielder, has any one thought about charlie adams? he has played exceptionally well this season, his passing and vision has been excellent. it would be a relatively cheap transfer along with wages BUT would he be able to play as good at united? what do you think ed?

JWalk {ed's note - I think he is capable of playing for a bigger club, he has the ability, it is his attitude I would wonder about.}

{Editor Note: It would take a lot more than £7m for Jarvis, and a lot more than £24m for Modric. And I believe that Modric recently signed a new deal added to the fact that De Gea has stated his commitment to Atletico Madrid.}

Ed, I am sorry, but this is a load of tosh. With Wolves likely to be relegated, 7 mil should be more than enough to get him. Modric for 24 million is great money for a player that doesn't score. The days of 30 million pound transfers are over, except if you're Man City. And De Gea, after supposedly committing his future to Atletico, went back and said he would have a difficult time turning down Manchester United. {ed's note - Wolves don't need to sell, they will not be in financial difficulties if they go down, so you have to force their hand to get a player. Though I think Jarvis will go for less than 10m myself. As for Modric, why would Spurs sell him?}

*I read that article on skysports and considered commenting myself so glad someone else has brought it up. If what his agent says is correct then someone needs to get hold of Gareth Bale and give him a good shake. Serie A is a graveyard for young exciting players. Yes they may go there and do well for their clubs but I think anyone would struggle to name a young exciting talent that has gone to Italy in the last decade or so and actually improved as a player. I thought very similar back when Shevchenko moved to AC Milan. That league is technically miles behind La Liga and in terms of fitness and sharpness and attacking awareness streaks behind the Premier League. For defenders it is a dream land, not so for attacking players.

@Ed, if Real Madrid land Gareth Bale does that mean Di Maria is back on the market? He was never Mourinho's signing anyway! Or would he play on the right with Ronaldo replacing Higuain & Bale moving to the left?

Or would Bale be played as a Left Back with Di Maria ahead of him on the left?

Sydney! {ed's note - I don't think Madrid would move for Bale unless it was to play left back.}

AGENT CONFIRMS BALE INTEREST

Agent says Juve, Inter, AC Milan - and Madrid - interested in Bale

Gareth Bale's Italian agent insists three Serie A outfits are interested in signing the Spurs ace - but only Real Madrid could land him in January.

The Welsh wizard's stock has risen considerably this season after a number of scintillating displays, including a hat-trick against Inter Milan at the Giuseppe Meazza.

Agent Peppino Tirri says Juventus, AC Milan and Inter - as well as Real Madrid - are interested in the 21-year-old.

But, while he believes 'there are high chances' Bale will move to Italy one day, Tirri does not think a deal will be done in January.

The agent told ilsussidiario.net: "I confirm the interest of Juventus for Bale, the Bianconeri are trying to bring him to Italy but not in January, in June.

"AC Milan and Inter Milan too have shown interest in the Welsh player, partly because he would like to play in Italy in the near future. There are high chances that it can happen.

"Also, Real Madrid are seriously trying, (Jose) Mourinho has his eye on him and the Spanish club would be the only one who can take Bale in January."

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has previously stated Bale is not for sale as the Londoners push for glory in both the Premier League and UEFA Champions League.

@Guys i hate to say it but United have made no efforts to sign him or even inquired about him otherwise his agent would have mentioned it.

I don't know who it is, I can't see Rodders allowed to move for that little, though I do think he will be in a United shirt next season. Maybe Moyes is going to line it up for an excuse to walk.}

@I agree there is something fishy going on, did you see his interview today? Its like he is not happy about something. I think an initial down payment would be between 12-15m, then a few million over a few years in installments.

I know the original Ed, i think that's you? Don't you have contacts around Everton? I know you are a Bootle lad but don't you know an ex Everton player that you speak to from time to time? Maybe he knows something? Moyes is certainly trying to get people to feel sorry for him though, that is evident.

I have been thinking about this for a while, and I don't think it would be Alexis Sanchez, as with Inter Milan interested in him the price will be 20m+.
I personally think it could be one of these three players:
•Ashley Young - His price at the minute would be around the 12-15m Mark and it makes sense with United looking at LMs. Although, surely it can't be.?
‚Ä¢Jordan Henderson - it was rumoured that the price would be around the £20m mark but a deal could have been struck that we get him for a cut price as long as Danny Welbeck stays till the summer, or possibly even till next Jan. This makes sense to me as today Henderson has come out and stated that he would pick United over City, which could be to try and restrict City from bidding for him.
•Steven Defour - This could be the one, he has been on SAFs radar for sometime now and he hasn't been mentioned for sometime now. He has also had a good stint after his injury and it makes sense for him to join now. His price is around 13m and SAF could be keeping this close to his chest.

Any thoughts Ed?

MPez {ed's note - Defour is a good shout, though I had heard Fergie had lost interest in him, he was not impressed with his agent.}

@I have no idea mate, there are many young, very talented players out there valued at around 15m or just under. I would guess at possibly Rodwell or Henderson if its not Sanchez. United did value Sanchez at around 12m before the world cup but Udinese wanted ‚Ǩ20m (£16.6m). He fits the price range which United are willing to pay albeit not the price Udinese would initially want.

Everton are down to the bare bones, they have not a single penny to spend, Moyes has made that clear in the past three interviews, maybe he's softening the Everton crowd for when United sign Rodwell in the next couple of weeks? Maybe he feels the Toffee fans may understand his reason for selling him if they can understand how skint they are? I don't know bud.

Ed if United have just sanctioned a 15m move for someone, any ideas who it could be?

Ok im really getting tired of every 1 creaming sanchez's bum, when i know probably half of u hav only seen utube clips of him, in my opinion he has potential but he is all tricks and no end product he has a very low scoring and assist rate, also we do not need another right sided winger, i belive fergie was interested in him at some point. And how can people say he would be a better option than bale when bale is left footed has good assist rate and is proven in the prem. what is sanchez proven in?. . don't worry ill wait.
here are the real targets
gk buffon, lloris, adler
rb alves
cm rodwell, henderson, defour, snjedier, ganso
lw bale (dont think well get him but still a target) eden hazard (a much better option than sanchez) neymar, menez
what do you think ed?

bale has a good assist ratio?? 3 assists 20games hmmm very good aint it if my math is correct that's around an assist every 7games

sanchez has 3 also in less than 17games not sure how many but its less than 17 ed might know
and sanchez is proven on the international stage for chile

u say about sanchez not being proven but u want hazard wats he proven in?

im pretty sure alves has a contract with a 90mil buy out clause

buffon is far to injury prone i doubt fergie will take a chance on him cause his price would be massive i guess
and u say these are the real transfer targets?
do u have any proof there is proof that were after

adler man utd scouting him
de gea fergie and eric steel went to watch him play
sanchez fergie admitted interest
henderson bruce said fergie was asking him about him
defour fergie sent him a letter to get well after he broke his leg
and theres some more

i really don't see why people keep going on about sneijder he signed a new contract he will NOT be joining us if he was ever gonna it would have been 2years ago when he was leaving madrid he didn't so he never will {ed's note - isn't Dani Alves coming to the end of his contract?}

dear unnamed sir,
to be honest, ngiak liked the look of this guy since last season. ngiak watch lazio's last game with interest as it was against udinese. hernanes was much more influential than alexis sanchez. both scored a goal each in a game where lazio won.
ngiak also watched their previous game where they beat inter milan 3-1. hernanes scored a wonderful free kick, was asking for the ball all the time. a constant thorn in inter's midfield. although relatively small, he can hold the ball and has very quick feet. a fairly good passer of the ball but sometimes holds it a little too long. sounds familiar? (a young cristiano?). ngiak wonders why man united did not follow through with their interest. . :)
maybe he is a better acquision than sanchez?

Wayne Rooney has been left out of Manchester United's clash with Stoke at Old Trafford tonight.
The England striker hurt his left ankle in a challenge with West Bromwich's Chris Brunt towards the end of Saturday's win at the Hawthorns and will be rested as a precaution when United look to go three points clear at the top of the Barclays Premier League.
Rooney trained at Carrington on Monday and is available, but it was decided to hold him back for Sunday's FA Cup third round tie at home to old rivals Liverpool.

@Mats Moller joins us in three weeks time, he is 15 years old and something very very special, United have guaranteed him a professional contract on his 17th birthday, this is the first time United have agreed to this. What does that tell you?

I have a feeling we may bring in one or two youth players, Andrigo or Munoz maybe?

Sydney!

*I'm sure this guy Moller is good, but that's not true that United have never offered professional terms in advance of a player turning 17. Read 'Beckham' cause its a great book and he says he got signed for "2, 2 and 2" which means 2 years in the academy, 2 as an apprentice, and 2 as a pro.

@We signed Becks in 1991 when he was 15, if he was in the academy for two years, then an apprentice for two more years then he would have been guaranteed a professional contract at 19, not 17.

That was my point, Mats Moller is the first player that we have guaranteed a contract to at 17, actually he has been guaranteed a professional contract on his 17th birthday.

Need a good performance tonight after two rather languid away performances. Okay I thought we were unlucky not to get all 6pts, particularly the Bowyer equaliser, but anyway we move on.

We have to accept for the near future, we are behind City and Tottenham financially. I am beginning to think that this UEFA fair play thing is going to have a big impact, if we use what Roman is doing at Chelsea as an example. I don't see anything big happening in January, not with us anyway. There has been a lot of negativity regarding our performances and probably rightly so. We don't look right away from home, would I be right in saying that Park is going to be a massive out for us over the next few weeks. We will see

I still say that we are one world class midfielder away from being a big force again. Till then we are just going to have to get used to this style of play, where results will have to be churned out. This waiting for us to hit second gear stuff isn't going to come guys with this system. Its unpleasant on the eye but effective. Scholes gives us back a bit of flair when fit, but we have to start looking beyond him and Ryan now.

Don't see Welbeck being recalled, might as well let him continue his game time in the North East. He is developing well, physically and skillfully. We would only throw him out on the left wing anyway, like we used to do with Ole, when everyone was fit. Cleverley doing okay, not ready yet. Definitely next season. Park's industry needs replacing in his absence, suppose Fletch can deputise.

The Qatar takeover has gone quiet again, funny how that only did the rounds when games were called off isn't it. Media don't you love them.

I chuckle so many times when I read this site. So many people need to get their heads out of the clouds. We aren't getting Kaka, we aren't getting Pastore, we aren't getting any of these big money signings.

No one knows if the Qatari bid is serious, don't act like you do. If they take over, that obviously changes everything. But assuming they don't, the following is a good-faith projection of their transfer moves over the next couple of windows.

January 2011

~ Macheda out on loan - done deal
~ Cleverley and Welbeck remain on loan - done deal
~ Berbatov contract extended - done deal

Summer 2011

~ Retirement of VDS, Neville, Scholes, and Giggs

~ Recall of Welbeck, Cleverley, and Macheda

~ Promotion of Paul Pogba to the 1st team.

~ GK David De Gea, Atl?©tico Madrid, £15 million. This is the one rumoured move that will actually happen. Sir Alex has made his interest known, having had the boy scouted multiple times this season. Any questions over his ability to play on a big stage should be answered by his run last spring with Atletico to the Europa League title. He will step in and be the #1 with Lindegaard as his deputy.

~ CB Stefan Savic, Partizan Belgrade, £5 million. This 19 year old starlet from Montenegro has impressed in Champions League action for Partizan this season against the likes of Arsenal, and is the kind of player that can turn into a real stalwart if given time to develop. Stick in in our system, and we might have a long term partner for Chris Smalling and a comparable replacement for Vidic.

~ LW Matty Jarvis, Wolverhampton Wanderers, £7 million. So much talk of Gareth Bale, but unless the Qataris take over, it won't be worth paying the astronomical price Spurs will want. Jarvis will come at a fraction of the cost, and is a dynamic player to have. Young, and with a hopeful future in the English national team, Jarvis is the natural left footed winger that we so desperately need, and he provides fantastic crosses from the wing, which we don't get enough of from the likes of Nani.

~ CM Luka Modric, Tottenham Hotspur, £24 million. Sir Alex has long been an admirer of the crafty Croatian, and with Tottenham's glut of midfielders, they will be open to a move. Modric is undersized, but tenacious, solid defensively, and one of the best pure passers in the Premier League. Accompanied by the rotating trio of Fletcher, Anderson, and Pogba, he will be the rock of our central midfield following the impending retirement of Paul Scholes.

{Editor Note: It would take a lot more than £7m for Jarvis, and a lot more than £24m for Modric. And I believe that Modric recently signed a new deal added to the fact that De Gea has stated his commitment to Atletico Madrid.}

@I have just heard Berbatov is next for a new United contract. Much to Red Man's delight LOL.

Sydney!

Heard the same thing yesterday, although i was told it was a contract extension but there pretty much the same thing really and he'd be on around 120k a week, I think he's on 85-90k a week at the moment?!

United Till I Die 1987

@He's on just shy of 80k a week, i think its unlikely to rise to 120k a week, possibly 90k a week, same as Vidic is getting? Both same age, both valuable players, neither sell shirts. 120k is a little far fetched i think.

What do you think Ed or UTID 1987?

Sydney! {ed's note - I agree with you Sydney, I would be shocked if the club could justify paying him over 100k.}

RE: "Some significant news by the same source regarding the potential Qatar buy-out which goes something like this."

All very interesting mate. . BUT you've not made a good start given that Macheda's off to Sampdoria - also nothing yet on N'Zogbia, but we'll wait and see.

When he signs for SAFC or alike next week we'll all know you're full of s* t.

I don't know why many people reckon sanchez is on his way to manchester united i have been watching him for a while this year and in my opinon hes farley over rated just like ibrahimovic is, if we are looking for a rm or lm player we should look at one of the following players:
RM:
bently
moderic
farafan
beckham
LM
downing
brunt
evra(push him up to midfield)
bale(if we can get him at a reasonable price)
M.G pedersen
these are just my opinions and would like to hear your views on this ecspecially the ed
THE HEMMINATOR

{Editor Note: Sanchez is miles better than Bentley, Beckham and Farfan. And also better than the left-wingers you mentioned bar Bale. But I can't see anyone getting Bale and I think he'll stay at Spurs. As for Sanchez, good player in my opinion, potential to be great.}
