Hey Ed, I heard that Sergio Aguero is on his to Old Trafford because Chelsea cannot offer him a appropriate pay package. Any truth in this? {Ed001's Note - I don't know, but I would very much doubt wages would be an issue. But Aguero's wages are obscene at Atletico, they pay a salary after tax, which means English clubs have to double the quoted wages a player is on to match them in reality. Gone are the days when players would come here thinking they were getting a huge pay rise, only to find out that they had to pay tax out of their quoted salaries.}

Marek Hamsik I'm hearing is the latest player to be linked with United.

SAF is looking for a young lad to replace Scholes. Hamsik is the same type of player but Hamsik can tackle of course.

Would be a good little signing I reckon. . Much cheaper than Sneijder aswell.

"Just read that man united have been scouting Athletic Bilbao's Javi Martinez, apparently martin ferguson was sent there, could this be to help de gea settle in by having someone who speaks Spanish, or just that we are interested in him, seems like a good player. whats everyone elses thoughts (don't shoot me down just posting what i read lol)

I think this guy is a super player.

Big strong, very good in the air, good passer, strong tackler.
Would love to see this guy at united.

"{Ed002's Note - Coentrao is indeed under the wing of Mendes. It starts to make sense doesn't it?}"

@Lets not forget young Iturbe's new agent is Mendes, United are currently using Mendes to seal the De Gea deal, he is Coentao's agent, he is Ronaldo's agent. The mind boggles, but what we do know is when Mendes and SAF meet up, it's always to conclude a deal, players are always part of a Mendes / SAF chat.

What I would be to be a fly on Mendes' glass of red wine.

"I tell you what is even more interesting than the Aguero rumour. SAF had dinner with Jorge Mendes in Madrid last week. They have always said that the Ronaldo money is still in the bank. Is he coming back? I believe that he doesn't like the Mourinho style of football.

For me I think he was too hasty in wanting to go to Real Madrid anyway. Yes I can see he wanted to live his and his familys dream and play for them, but with Barcelona destined to be top dogs there for a few more years to come, he was never going to be more than just another Galactico. Should have stayed with us till he was about 29-30. Could he be on his way back for 4 years. Maybe he is missing that winning feeling, I know they won the Copa del Ray but come on

I think there are some other top players of our interest under Mendes. Another good news for the day. Is coentrao managed by Mendes?

REDFAITH {Ed002's Note - Not so sure about De Gea, but I could see one of Aguero or Sanchez.}

@Ed, Scott Minto said earlier that because SAF said yesterday that he would advise VDS to retire this season, he believes United have already signed the keeper that will replace him. Minto believes it's De Gea, but do you have any idea who it could be?

{Ed002's Note - If someone has agreed then it is likely De Gea.}

So ED002 You are saying we have a chance of signing Aguero would be a great signing but i don't see him at united, Inter or Chelsea is where i think we will end up, I think we should spend that money on a world class midfielder. {Ed002's Note - There is a chance but at present Manchester United are only interested in finding out if there is a financial package taht could work.}

Believable5 Unbelievable3

04 May 2011 15:03:01
That Aguero rumours sound very interesting but i can't see us spending that much on a striker when we actually need a very good/ world class central midfielder.

But it seems that Berbatov could be on his way out of the club and so we would need another good striker, because even if Hernandez can score pretty consistently his allround game is just not very good, and Aguero is world class at a very young age with a lot more potential.

That said i can only see one "big" deal for us in the summer. Something like:

Aguero/ Sneijder/ Sanchez/ (Modric) = 30m+

Young/ Rodwell/ M'Vila = 10m-20m

De Gea = 20m

So it is them Scousers then, eh?
So haven't shown any interest in the player then ed? Pity. I really like this kid.
But I'm guessing that, as much as the Scousers will be look to tie the deal up and Juve, Genoa and Napoli are interested, it is nowhere near being a done deal, ed, is it?
I'm sure Fergie is aware of the lad. So could we maybe see a late swoop for him?
Also, you didn't answer regarding Mvila.

RIP Eddie

{Ed002's Note - There is certainly no done deal for Sissoko. As for M'Vila Arsenal, Manchester United, Juventus, Genoa and perhaps Liverpool & Chelsea are interested.}

Now that's news! Takes free kicks, runs past players, good finisher and quite strong as well! Would fit right in i think! If we could get those personal terms agreed, boy this would be a major coup for the summer that's for sure."

@REDFAITH & Ed002,

That would be by far the best signing I could wish for. One of my favourite Forwards and as you quite rightly pointed out he's one of the most all round gifted players on the planet.

- - - - -Rooney- - - -
Hernandez- - Aguero- -

Now that would ensure us the premier League next season!

ED, If what you're saying is true then what is the chances of seeing Aguero in a United shirt next season? And surely if we're prepared to give Rooney £250K (before Tax) then we can afford to Give Aguero the £100-150K he wants. .Or does he want more?

Or at least confirm they want to sign him.

Red Knight.

{Ed002's Note - I was told this on Thursday (I think) last week but the impression I have is that it is perhaps Manchester United and Juventus who are best placed. Chelsea clearly have an interest but have already failed to find a financial deal that will work. Their focus remains on neymar of course.}

Forget Sneidjer and Pastore. The man we need to go for is Sissoko, Moussa Sissoko of Toulose. Been watching the kid for the past 6 weeks. Believe me he's class, and still only 21.

There's a team in the Prem chasing after him, me mate believes it's the Scousers. But the talks apparently seem like breaking down.
Ed, is it indeed the Scousers after him? Is it true that the talks are on the verge of breaking down? Do you know of any interest in him from us? Do you think he'd be keen on a move to OT?
Also what's happening wit Mvila? I remember him saying we are his dream club and we're interested.
How close/ far are we from completing a deal with him?

RIP Eddie {Ed002's Note - I stand by my original position that with the transfer window approaching and interest in Toulouse's Moussa Sissoko from both Juventus and Milan on the rise, Liverpool will be looking to tie up a deal for the player - which I think would be a really great addition to the squad. Damien Comolli has already let Sissoko's agent know that Liverpool see his man as the ideal long-term replacement for Steven Gerrard. Aside from strong interest from Juventus and AC Milan, Genoa and probably Napoli are also interested.}

{Ed002's Note - It would not be to help De Gea settle Syd - there are cheaper options than that. But I was told late last week that Manchester United are seriously interested in figuring out a deal that would take Aguero to Old Trafford. The problem is personal terms - the same problem Chelsea had, and I suspect anyone else who has been interested. I am also told that Real Madrid is still not out of the question for Aguero either.}

@Ed, can I ask what are the wages he is asking for? And what would his fee be? Approx of course!

200k a week & £50m?

Sydney!

{Ed002's Note - I would expect the fee to be about half of that, maybe £30M. The issue with the wages is that he is paid net of tax, something in the region of 125k euro per week which puts it at something like £200k before tax. Add to this insurance costs and it is spiralling. Image rights may be a way around it but the old get outs of payment in the form of cars or oil paintings are long gone loopholes of old. Shell companies in Monaco and various other approached have been tried but the revene are hip to them all.}

"{Ed002's Note - Your point about the other clubs is well taken. He was of interest to Chelsea before the club knew that Torres would be available. They have other targets for this year but may keep a watching brief. I don't know if Berbatov would be interested in a move to Sicily or not. For me, I would hang my ass out and say that I don't think you will see him at Old Trafford next season - but perhaps you will see Aguero there.}"

I certainly don't mean immediately this summer ed, but possibly next summer. The feeling i have been getting over the past few years ed is that the media generally have no clue about who we really are after and United seem to keep the cards firmly close to their chests so the players about whom there seems to be no noise at all look of interest to me!

As you said Berbatov may not be interested in a move to Sicily, but we could sell him and pay completely in cash upfront and Palermo may prefer that other than the part ownership and player exchanges etc. He would surely choose United over Napoli, who currently look like the only realistic bidders?

About Aguero, you surely mean he may be at Chelsea right, certainly not United?

@What in a Chelsea shirt Vs us? Do you think we have any chance of signing someone like Aguero? I did say United could bring another player from Atletico to help De Gea settle, didn't mean a £50m signing though. I thought perhaps young Coke or someone from his old youth team.

I know it ed. You have already posted this before i think. He is just one of the players i would like to be seen at United. Apart from Tottenham and Arsenal i don't think the other 3 need him or would pay big money for him, also don't think he will fit in at Chelsea now with Torres there.

We should really go for this guy. Imo, the transfer will not be as difficult as it seems. Berbatov could well be involved in the deal?

I dnt want Mourinho to come to United as the next manager. He doesn't knw what it is about being a Red Devil. Neither he will understand our Ethics and the culture of ur club and our Philosophy with football

I would love to have Laurent Blanc. He is the right man. He seems to be changing France's fortune back again and has played at OT so he knws everything what it takes to be at United.

Ed, Sydney and REDFAITH whats ur say. ?

P.S. I m worried abt PL title nw with a match against Chelsea. I feel we might get wrong and bad decisions again.

"How very rich of Ramon Calderon to criticise Jose Mourinho for his behaviour and his comments to the press, in todays interview on Sky Sports. Perhaps he forgot the numerous times he would use the press as an avenue to unsettling and signing the players he wanted with no regard for common decency or respect for others. When SAF claimed he "wouldnt sell them a virus" it was largely down to the, then, regime and Calderon himself. Calderon also spoke of Mourinhos desire to come to United. . . . Id say Madrid can keep him if its all the same.

@Not that I would want Jose and his boring football anywhere near our club, but Ramon has clarified that Jose does want the United job. Even though Jose & SAF has hinted at it themselves.
