I think Wazza Pedro and Depay front 3, Herrera behind with carrick and schniderln holdind midfield, would scare the crap out any team! :) Hopefully herrera gets a chance to pull the strings

You heard wrong then. It is all down to the player reports that he had agreed terms etc with United were false but if he wants the move it will happen.

06 Aug 2015 11:14:50
Exactly opposite, Pedro agreed terms, just waiting for the bid for United to trigger the deal. Even Guillem Balague reported it today, so don't say I heard wrond.

You did hear wrong, I wasn't saying it will not happen I am saying nobody has agreed anything yet. Balague didn't report it today it was on the radio yesterday and he didn't say Pedro has agreed terms anyway, try reading what he actually said.

Di Maria's departure to be confirmed in the next few hours (£44.2m agreed 29th July). MUFC and Pedro agreed terms but no offer to FCB. yet

This is what he wrote on his Twitter today. And it just confirms what I've HEARD yesterday.

The commentator for the Milan vs Spurs game has just said Kane isn't playing due to a £40m bid from us, doubt that but does anyone know anything?

Believable6 Unbelievable4

05 Aug 2015 19:06:36
Really said that?
Just rested prior to Saturday's game maybe?

05 Aug 2015 19:08:07
I just see that too. Interestingly he also said he was initially in the squad to play and that he's not there now but was there yesterday.

Informative comments on the situation at Real Madrid concerning bale,James Rodriguez and Benzema from Ed001 James the untouchable one chance bale could go??

If we are indeed in for Pedro , and Van Gaal likes 4 3 3 system , were would Kane fit in , can't see Rooney being dropped , I know we all prefer 442 which would allow 2 strikers and a solid midfield , but you know Mr Van Gaal will do what suits him best.
But can't see Kane comming myself , we know how hard it is to barter with Tottenham and Mr Levy.

05 Aug 2015 19:32:32
Kane coukd be injured but I have heard the commentary myself and he clearly suggests we have made a huge bid and that being the reason Kane isn't even there. He could also have been sent home early to rest. Personally I think we need a striker but Kane is a risk given he has only done it for one season. At £40m I would rather have Lewandowski but let's see what develops

Kane is rested !!!

05 Aug 2015 19:37:35
If Kane comes in I see a very interchangeable front three of Rooney Kane and depay. Much more to Kane's game than central striker

05 Aug 2015 19:39:34
kane played 70 minutes yesterday so could be rested

Kane, Rooney, Depay & Pedro (Mata and Young miss out), that is how he has played pre-season.

05 Aug 2015 20:19:40
I'm an admirer of Kane, I hope he comes but just can't see it happening this summer. Hopes are for next. And he too likes to press defenders which suits my preferred style of play.

Just seen this also on the internet. Be interested to see if this has legs as I think he has potential, at the right price. Hopefully, as mentioned above, he won't have just been a one season wonder. Let's hope for another Rooney as opposed to a Matt Jansen or Francis Jeffers.

Well yes he certainly did say Utd had made a bid, how long before SSN run it.

ITS A FAKE VIDEO!! CALM DOWN PEOPLE!

Agree2 Disagree2

06 Aug 2015 10:24:31
Was the video fake?

Kane was among the subs bench when the teams were announced and was withdrew soon after - strange one to be fair.

Pretty stupid from Spurs playing two games back to back a couple of days before the Premier League season starts. Munich to London to Manchester in a couple of days? I'd be fuming if that was us

Edds,

Reports this morning were after Lloris?

With you guys being 'in the know', can anybody confirm this?

Cheers guys, Ronnie!

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed004's Note - We are not 'in the know'. I have no sources at all. However, Lloris would be some signing if Ddg leaves}

Interesting comment by Ed over on the 'scousers page about us looking to add between 2-4 players still. Could be another frantic transfer window yet.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

2-4? Seems unlikely but stranger things have happened!

05 Aug 2015 15:49:50
Yeah depending on De Gea leaving by the sounds of it. So not counting him, it sounds like between 1 and 3 we are looking at. I'd say Pedro is pretty much nailed on, so a possibility of another 2. My guess is a CB and striker if the right ones become available.

Agut Phelen tells me there's no way our transfer business is done. Everyone recall Woody's speech. Rarely wrong Mr Phelen!

Spoke to my fiancée's brother again last night (regional manager at a national Bookies). Here is what he said (most of it is well known but some might not be):

1) Di Maria all but done and will be officially unveiled by PSG before close of business on Friday.

2) He understands Pedro move to be pushed forward once Di Maria goes. Timescales are hard to predict but his Bookies expect Pedro deal to be finalised by middle of next week.

3) They are hearing NOTHING re new defenders coming to Utd. He said any that did would probably be a 'left-field' purchase that the Bookies have not previously foreseen.

4) Utd apparently know what it would take (financially) to get Zlatan quickly (PSG want him sold if possible) but they predict it would be a last gasp move. They don't currently see it happening.

5) His firm believe it's more likely Utd will NOT make any further signings after Pedro.

He said things can change and bookies are not always right. If Utd start shipping goals they may push for defensive reinforcements.

He thinks Utd will go with the current squad (after Pedro) and go all out for Bale next summer. His info is that Bale is the one player Utd REALLY want.

LVG himself said that he will add a CB so i can't see the window closing without us having any CB signed . It may be too late but eventually we will sign a CB

Thanks for sharing Jack. Like you said bookies are not always right, else no one will ever make any winnings. However i trust them more than most of the tabloids.

That's a decent read Jack.

Bookies aren't always right but they are rarely wrong. You don't see a poor bookie.

For me - I would be worried and disappointed if we only signed Pedro - Pedro is a great signing and an ideal replacement for Di Maria but we have lost RVP and Falcao - we need a striker.

Our defence is a mess and it will be a huge disappointment if we don't sign a proven CB.

Personally I don't think we'll be finished after Pedro. We have the funds and wages to sign proven class - it might be the end of agust before seeing anybody else though

Agree4 Disagree1

05 Aug 2015 12:58:34
IMO we can't consider as replacements players that will come for RVP, Falcao or Di Maria as they didn't play big part last season. We need to find the right players. Because if Pedro's game is the same as Di Maria's last year, then we rather use Januzaj, Valencia and Pereira.

05 Aug 2015 13:30:49
Thanks Jack, unfortunately too believable.

Maybe LvG believes defence will be stronger for having better defensive shield (as Southampton had with VW and MS - lovren floundered at Lpool)

Would still worry about being vulnerable to the counter attack once we lose possession in our pressing game, particularly with Jones' rash challenges.

Agree2 Disagree0

05 Aug 2015 15:06:30
Thanks for sharing Jack - unfortunately on these markets bookies are often far off the mark, they make their margins on horse racing and football matches rather than special bets like who is buying who, they have no idea at all, so although your info could be correct it is more than likely that it will be totally wrong.

Giants,

Bookies don't make money because they know things, they make money because other people don't.

Rumours that Real Madrid are to bid for Otamendi, any of the Eds know if this rumour has substance. It would also be interesting to know what our net transfer spending has been so far this Summer.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed004's Note - Don't think there is any truth in it and around 20 mill now}

05 Aug 2015 08:33:04
they sold an older mathieu for a huge amount of money, surely otamendi would leave for more

Net impact on the wage bill would be interesting too if I can be cheeky Ed004?

I'd guess it's not insignificant and we'd still be up with a couple more big ish signings?

{Ed004's Note - No idea}
