Just can't see this being true, both players are basically strikers - Sanchez can and does play as a winger, but a winger in the Ronaldo mold, as opposed to Nani or Valencia.

Rooney isn't going anywhere, Hernandez isn't going anywhere, unlikely Berbatov will be sold - and I believe Macheda and Welbeck would be given a chance. We have enough strikers.

Sanchez is the more likely target given that he is a bit of a winger, but i don't see us going for Saurez - unless we sell Berbatov (which could happen, but won't imo)

Listen , people , MUFC is not going to go out and buy 4-5 foreign players . Thats just not Fergie's style . SAF has made it clear that he is going to spend big only after Giggs and Scholes retire . This is not certain and it is purely their personal decision . Henderson is already the long term replacement targeted and Brucie has been quoted to have confirmed our interest . Its a done deal . On left wing , we have no targets at the moment! ! ! De Gea is long term target to replace VDS . Fergie has already gone to Spain earlier this season to take a look at the lad . The only way we will buy a new defender is if we well Evans which is very unlikely . If we do then Shawcross will be the main target . Welbeck and Cleverley coming back will be like new signings and Sanchez won't come because Tony Valencia is rumoured to be back a lot sooner than expected .

I think its disgracefull from newcastle sacking hughton first season back in the prem there mid table above the "mighty" liverpool and they sack there manager he also did great last year i hope they get relagated now because of the sacking

on another note theres a debate going on about are manchester city the premier leagues most embarrasing team

Sad news for all you lot who take an interest in the youth coming through. After what happened last week it is highly unlikely that Ravel Morrison will ever play for United again. There are reporting restrictions so I have to be careful what I say. Just that not many people will be seeing Ravel for some time. RAINFISHTROMBONE

The coentrao rumor is really starting to heat up. Personally i don't see evra leaving and even if he did i see fabio getting his chance since he has done well whenever given a chance. What i think is that coentrao is a much better left winger than a left back. Much like bale is. Bale would come in very costly. So we may well be buying coentrao as giggs' replacement. What do you think ed?

@Fabio is far too injury prone to rely on if Evra was to leave, we would end up with O'Shea playing at LB all of the time. If Evra left we would have to go in for Coentrao, its a no brainer.

No ed. Abrahamovic retains the right to call in the money whenever he wants to. So it is debt in theory but even if it was a loan we all know it is practically zero debt.

Some of the "rumours" on this site are pretty hilarious. This is a more realistic take on the transfers that will happen in the summer window.

On good faith, the positions Utd. will be targeting are as follows
~1 starting caliber goalkeeper
~1 central defender
~1 left wing/left wing back
~2 central midfielders

The following players will be leaving the club in the Summer
~Edwin Van Der Sar (retirement)
~Tomasz Kuszczak (£3 million, CSKA Moscow)
~Gary Neville (retirement)
~Patrice Evra (£15 million to Real Madrid)
~Michael Carrick (£12 million to Aston Villa)
~Owen Hargreaves (free)
~Darron Gibson (£5 million)
~Ryan Giggs (retirement)
~Michael Owen (free)

So that is, all told, eight spots that need to be filled. Kuszczak's replacement has already been found in Lindegaard. Owen's replacement will be Welbeck back from loan. Gibson's replacement will be Cleverley back from loan.

So here we are left with five open slots. Van Der Sar's immediate replacement will be Manuel Neuer from Schalke. The German club has really disappointed in the Bundesliga this season, and with a return to CL football unlikely, Neuer will hand in a transfer request over the summer. £10 million will be the cut price fee as he will have 12 months left on his deal.

Evra's replacement will be the Portuguese wonderkid Fabio Coentr?£o for a fee of £18 million. With Nani being more effective in a narrow role, its important to find a replacement that can provide the width in an attacking role, and Coentr?£o provides it in spades.

SAF's only other defensive signing will be of a little known defender from Montenegro by the name of Stefan Savic of Partizan Belgrade. Only 19 years old, he will be relatively cheap at £6 million pounds, but has the upside to become the eventual replacement for Nemanja Vidic.

Central midfield is a bit tricky, but expect Scholes to return for one last season while his replacement is found. In the end, I think there will be two signings. The first will be Marek Hamsik from Napoli for £20 million, the playmaking attack minded central midfielder that will be Scholes' replacement. The next signing will be of Steven Defour from Standard Liege for £10 million. SAF loves the desire to join the Red Devils he sees from Defour, and will give him every opportunity to beat out the maddeningly average Darren Fletcher for a spot in the Starting XI.

All told, the net spending is £40 million pounds. Not the £100 million that is being bantered around. There will be no signings of Pastore or Kaka or Dzeko because its more efficient to fill 5 holes effectively than 1 or 2 fantastically, while ignoring the other 3.
