Haha, how bad was Bale tonight?! He can do nothing against decent defenses, I'll take Nani every time. Were the reserves playing tonight, if so does anyone know were Cleverley and Nani involved?

Percy

Believable10 Unbelievable17

Percy, According to Cleverleys twitter it was called off. He had posted saying he was a little dissapointed as he had hoped to get a few minutes.

Jay

Agree0 Disagree0

Match postponed due to the weather pity as cleverley fabio and pogba were due to play
ARB

Agree0 Disagree0

Percy how many united players play well against liverpool in anfield , bale at united wud be amazing add modric too that aswell nani on right bale on left 10 goals and more assists than any of our wingers

Agree0 Disagree0

Damn, maybe a super sub on Saturday for Cleverley? Bale is a more high profile version of Valencia, very good against some but can't change his game enough to cope with good defenses.

Percy

Agree0 Disagree0

Modric he's even worse!so overrated it's un real!

Agree0 Disagree0

Bale was poor so was modric which is probably why spurs were poor.
both are top players
jred

Agree0 Disagree0

Sure anytime bale has played against us, rafa has had him in his back pocket ;-)

Robbo

Agree0 Disagree0

Modric was poor? Did you actually watch the game? Bar losing possession a couple of times later on he was still his sublime self.

rpc

Agree0 Disagree0

I did watch the match, he was good when on the ball, as he always is but he wasnt involved enough, on the whole i thought he had a quite game
jred

Agree0 Disagree0

That one-on-one right near the end of the game (85 mins I think), I'm 100% certain Nani would have put that away and ended the game. Spurs are doing well this season and Bale is a big part of that but last night he was pretty mediocre to be honest, I'd still love United to sign him one day though.

United Till I Die 1987

Agree0 Disagree0

REserve match called off but theres another one on Thursday against the Bitters.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bale is better than Nani. Fact.
I can't see Nani ever dragging us single handedly from 3 goals down to 3-3

ANd

I take it the community shield doesn't count? Bale is the most overrated player in the world right now.

Ronaldo coming back? I don't believe this but i hope this is true.

Believable19 Unbelievable11

Although things aren't perfect for him at Madrid, the media would go along with a story like this because it's so high profile they'll sell more copies/make more money. So don't be fooled by the amount of 'ronaldo to united' articles that have been produced lately. I don't think it will happen, would put a smile on my face if we did..

If it did happen, him upfront with Rooney would be the best front line i've witnessed.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Imagine this:

---------De Gea

Rafael-Smalling-Vidic-Fabio

Nani-Pogba-Cleverley-Ronaldo

Rooney-Welbeck/Hernandez

I think that could be one of the best united teams I've ever seen, provided Pogba and Cleverley live up to their pontential. A world class defence and goal keeper (I've always had faith in him). A cracking midfield. Possibly the greatest wing partnership ever? And Rooney and Welbeck up front, they could all interchange making it un-markable.

Percy

Agree0 Disagree0

No Phil Jones?

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't go that far and where's jones gone?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ronaldo will never return just more paper talk! Plus its going to be prob the 80million we sold him for! I would prefer to spend 80mill on bale n modric

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't know where Jones would fit in, he's a worse CB than Vidic, Evans and Smalling and is a worse RB than Rafael, maybe play a three in midfield?

Percy

Agree0 Disagree0

More chance of Bobby Charlton and King Dennis comming back - we have NO MONEY!

Agree0 Disagree0

Phil Jones has had a bit of a dip in form of late but he's still a fantastic player. Better player than evans by far, just isn't when his confidence is a little low.. After scoring two own goals im not surprised but he's only just joined us and he's 19.

Also by the time Fabio and Pogba becomes good enough to cement their positions in the team, Vidic will be nearing the twilight years of his career.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Phil is a fantastic player but we are gonna ruin him if we don't give him a position and stick to it! No wonder he can't defend when we play him over the park - he doesn't know where he's supposed to be

Agree0 Disagree0

Percy
jones is a top player and pogba is still a couple of years of.
also that team is not as good as the team we had when ronaldo was last at the club
jred

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes but to CITY not you lot. Ha Ha

Agree0 Disagree0

Jred

The only bit that would be worse would be the lack of Scholes, but even then, if Pogba and Cleverley live up to potential we won't miss him much either. Welbeck, will be brilliant, as will Chicharito. De Gea, I think will be better or as good as Van Der Sar. The only other question mark for me, would be, will Fabio be as good as Evra in his prime? Because he was on a different planet.

Percy

Agree0 Disagree0

I totally agree with everything you're saying Percy. It really annoys me when people look at a line up and say 'oh - where is so and so'. Football is a SQUAD game, we can't fit everyone at the pitch at once.

The matter of fact is that Vidic and Smalling are still better center backs than he is. He would get games at right back - he'd be used in rotation and would get more than enough games.

That team does look fantastic it must be said. I think we could help raise a bit of the money for Ronaldo. I think we would have about £50 million for this summer (similar to last) so with maybe getting 8-10 for Berbatov and bits here and there for other players we would be in a good situation to get him back.

We'd also win more trophies i believe, so we would wreap the rewards very quickly.

RedDevil19

Percy
............ Van der Sar,
Brown , Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra,
Hargreaves, Scholes , Carrick,
Ronaldo, Tevez, Rooney .

Subs: Kuszczak, O'Shea, Fletcher, Silvestre, nani giggs, anderson.

i think that is a better team
jred

Agree0 Disagree0

'Jred'

That is indeed a better team, but the team that Percy put together has the potential to be as good as that team.

To better that team we would have to go out and buy a lot of players instead of developing what we have at the moment.

I think combined the side then and the potential side now you'd get a roughly even spread:

Van der Sar
Jones Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Nani Carrick Scholes Ronaldo
Welbeck/Tevez Rooney.

RedDevil19

Agree0 Disagree0

Jred

That remains to be seen, Rooney is better now than he was then, Ronaldo's better now than he was then. I believe that both Pogba and Cleverley will be better than those midfielders, bar Scholes maybe. Smalling is sensational, he'll be better than Ferdinand and Rafael will be better than Brown. Also, Nani's a better winger than Rooney was.

Percy

Agree0 Disagree0

R rooney and ronnie better , do you think Ronnie has improved at Madrid
will smalling/ vidic/ Ddg be better than Ferdinand /vidic/ Vds , I don't think so

Also the midefield 3 of scholes carrick Hargreaves worked very well
and the front 3 of Rooney, Ronnie , tevez was the best in Europe at the time , mind you the team was the best in Europe at the time
jred

Agree0 Disagree0

This in my opinion will never happen, If he comes back to the Premier League and Manchester it will be to City.......... but it's always nice to dreams!

Hernandez and Scholes made a big difference when they came on yesterday, shows how much we have missed scholes this season. Just hope we find a good replacement in the summer.

Any heard the rumors about Ronaldo coming back to English football?

Brooksy

Believable16 Unbelievable1

Good post - they have made a big difference. I'm looking forward to seeing Cleverly back - if he finishes the season well then a central midfielder won't be a priority. If not, then a player in that area could come in, even so i would only expect it to be someone like Kovacic.

RedDevil19

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm hoping we sign someone big in the summer. We seem fine with strikers, defense we may need one or two to come in, but midfield is where we need someone creative in the center, Scholes switches the play well, but we just need that extra something.

I'd check what other fixture's are on on the same weekend, If there are any other big fixture's we'll probably be on Super Sunday, If not then I'd say 12:45 on Saturday. Complete guesswork though really.
