Ed quite a few reports today that we've submitted a circa 20 million pound offer for sanchez. Has one of your wives heard anything?

Believable6 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - No and she has provided a significant update this afternoon about what is happening at Barcelona.}

Will Reus still move to Barcelona despite his injury or might their interest move elsewhere?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Give me a break.}

The eds on here provide reliable information but they are only human beings not mind readers, do you think they have been on the blower to barcelona this morning to ask if they still want reus because he got injured last night.

Agree0 Disagree0

RS, whilst someone is injured, they cannot complete a medical. That is it in a nutshell. Much like Strootman, they cannot move anywhere whilst they are still injured

Ed002, question for you if you aren't too busy? Do you think MU are after two wingers? Or are we edging our bets by enquiring about several wingers? Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - There is a long time to go Syd and even though Manchester United has being showing an interest in a lot of wingers there is nothing significant to note at this time other than those that won't happen - the likes of Juan Guillermo Cuadrado, Arjen Robben and Marco Reus are all now out of the picture. Another player that has been looked at on several occasions is Aras Ozbiliz, but he has had an injury to contend with and it has gone quiet.}

Interesting ed. Hopefully we are looking at Di Maria and Sanchez, they would be my top targets.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Juventus are all interested in Di Maria. There has been an offer from Monaco and an rejected PSG offer, although they may well return with another offer. If he cannot stay at Real Madrid, the player would not object to a move to Italy should the opportunity arise and Juventus may give him that opportunity, perhaps as part of a package deal that could see players being exchanged. If not, he would be beyond the means of Juventus without them selling either of their prized assets. Madrid seem keen to hang on to him but Jorge Mendes has been looking for a deal for the player and has persuaded Real Madrid to provide a price at which they would sell him. He is however in danger of pricing him out of the market with some pretty outrageous wage demands.

There has been some interest from Juventus and Arsenal in Sanchez. Barcelona will be willing to let Sanchez move on and would be open to using him in a player exchange deal. There have been discussions Juventus in respect of Sanchez and there is no secret that his agent has confirmed that they would be willing to meet the terms that the player desires. However, they are far from agreeing a figure with Barcelona for the sale - very far indeed. Barcelona will be willing to let Sanchez move on for a very significant fee or would be open to using him in a player exchange deal. Barcelona were looking to replace Fabregas with Vidal and were looking to that as an option whilst there is such a difference between what is being asked and what is being offered. However, with talks dragging on and Juventus wanting to keep Vidal their attention shifted from Vidal to Koke and then to Rakitic.}

Sydney! I think it's case of the players all focused on the World Cup, it's very quiet on the united front. I think Sanchez would be a great buy, would be over the moon with a summer of
Sanchez
Hummels
Shaw
And a cm

Have Manchester United any interest in Xerdan Shaqiri at the moment? From the rumours linking him to Liverpool, he would cost 15 million which would be a brilliant deal for him. He can play on the left, right or down the middle and would be a vast improvement on Young, Nani, Welbeck and Valencia.

Also, Manchester United should definitely make a bid for Arturo Vidal. If there's a chance to sign him, even for around 50 million, we should be jumping at the chance to sign him. He's arguably the best midfielder in the world at the moment, strengthening the defence as well as adding an attacking threat. And if a player like David Luiz is allegedly going for 50 million, then signing Vidal for that much would be great business.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Shaqiri is one of the players Bayern are very keen to sell. Liverpool, Sevilla and Fiorentina have a declared interest with Napoli and Juventus having made tentative enquiries. Bayern are taking an interest in Pogba and were looking to include Shaqiri in a deal - but Shaqiri apparently does not want to go Italy and Pogba is settled, at least for a week or two. Any real interest from Juventus has gone. That leaves Liverpool and Sevilla, and perhaps there will be interest from Valencia if they fail to get a target they are working on.}

Pogba is settled for a week or 2 sums that up nicely. Ed do you see Valencia now as another contender for the big purchases such as city, psg, Monaco etc?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Valencia has some fairly hefty targets.}

Ed002, do you think Valencia will take another look at Hernandez or is he Inter bound? Thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - One of my wives tells me today that, amongst other things, Valencia will look to buy Jackson Martinez and will try to get Hernandez.}

08 Jun 2014 10:29:21
Ed002, thanks for the reply. If I am not mistaken haven't MU agreed a fee with Valencia before, but Hernandez rejected the move? He also rejected them to sign for us didn't he? I wonder if he will finally end up in Valencia.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There is interest in taking him on loan and buying him from clubs - Valencia's priority is sorting out another transfer first but they remain interested.}

do Manchester United still have any interest in Herrera from Bilbao? Is there anyone else interested in him?
Thanks.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - I wouldn't think so.}

I don't know if this is true but apparently marquinhos is very close to signing for Barcelona, this could be good news if it's true we're in for hummels

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Barcelona are after two centre backs and their preferred target looks like he will not be available. PSG and Barcelona have not agreed a deal for Marquinhos yet because the value of Dani Alves cannot be agreed. Other clubs who have been offered Marquinhos are not interested at the price quoted. I am sure that they will. Barcelona remain interested in Hummels.}

Why are PSG so keen to offload him? Whenever I've seen him he's played well and he's only been there a year after moving for huge money

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - They have to balance the books and are looking to spending a large amount of money to bring players in and therefore they have to raise significant sums by moving players out.}

07 Jun 2014 19:00:09
Cheers Ed002, I take it there offering dani alves as a sweetener in the deal? If they do sign marquinhos, would you see them going for hummels as well? Jus that they already have pique so I would of thought they might go for a bit of a lesser known name

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Not a sweetener. And yes they are still interested in Hummels.}

Reports in Italy that we have now enquired and discussing a move for alexis sanchez.

I know its been ages since we were linked with this player but what has happened to the links with Everton Ribiero? I'm not interested in United signing him anymore but he was heavily linked with us last year and now no one seems to be linked with him?

Thanks in advance.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - Everton Ribeiro was of interest to Manchester United but all interest seems to have gone. A work permit would certainly have been difficult to obtain.}

Ed002, I'm sorry to bring up random names, but do MU have an interest in Fischer or Eriksen? Both would be very good signings and would fit the style that LvG will likely implement. Again, I apologise that they are random and that there's probably no interest in them. Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - Mr Moyes was interested in Viktor Fischer.}

It seems Mr Moyes liked all the best players, however it would have helped if he had the respect of the dressing room first. Publicly putting down the players he inherited was never going to go down well. I hope LvG is also after the top notch caliber of player that Moyes wanted, but I have a feeling he may go Dutch crazy.

One rumour that MU have failed in their bid for Hummels. Is he the only CB we are looking to sign right now or are we also looking towards De Vrij and Martins-Indi? Thanks Ed. Hope you can help. But also understand if you cannot comment.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - As I have explained previously, Hummels is of interest to Barcelona as well as Manchester United - I suspect he is keeping his options open. As I have explained previously, Feyenoord's Bruno Martins Indi is subject to interest from Manchester United, Roma, Milan and Everton. As I have explained previously, Lazio are pushing to try and reach an agreement for Espanyol's Héctor Moreno before the world cup as they think his value might rise and they are aware Spurs, Inter and Fiorentina, and perhaps Juve, are interested. According to his agent, it seems that Manchester United are now showing and interest as well.}

Thanks Ed.

Bild saying Reus done ankle ligaments tonight I cannot believe how many good players are getting injured

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Even ribery is out

He shouldn't have been playing if you ask me last warm up game before a world cup play schurrler
