More news from my source today. He said that the Sneijder deal will be finalised next Thursday after the England game when he will undergo a medical. He will be unveiled as a Manchester United player on a date between the games against WBA and Spurs

He is going to sign for city end of he's just another mercanary like them all In it for the money ''inter need the cash and I'm up for sale AT THE RIGHT PRICE'' that means who ever offers the most will get sneijder and we all know city will want him just so we don't get him
Macca

Give it a rest mate. Your source is the same as the rest of us -papers, websites, mates, TV etc. I think there is a stronger case for saying WS isn't coming. Or unlike you I hope he isn't coming. Let him go to Sh--y, Chelski or stay at Inter and keep their physios busy with his latest injury.

does anyone know if there is any truth that gil an fergie have made a move for there big money signing?
sydney, ed?? {Ed007's Note - Yes, wouldn't you agree Syd? Can I ask how "big" the money is? Enlarged notes? Monoply money??}

Believable3 Unbelievable5

Where has this 'rumour' come from dude? When you say 'if there is any truth' I am assuming you have read/heard something somewhere. I have heard nothing of the sort thats why I am asking...

A friend of mine who works in German football tells me that United are looking to sign Hoffenheim midfielder Sejad Salihovi?тİ if their current midfield taget proves to be unobtainable.

He is left footed, adaptable enough to play in different midfield positions and at 26, is not too old.

Salihovic is known as a goal-scoring midfielder and a free-kick specialist. It is thought that he would be available for around £6 million.

Believable3 Unbelievable11

Don't know how true this is, but it isn't a bad idea; I've watched a lot of Bundesliga football over the past 5 years, and Salihovic is really very good.

WizardOzmand

Agree0 Disagree0

If Salihovic is really good, 26 then why is he only worth £6m? It was different with Chico because not a lot of people follow Mexican football and he was pretty young. We all, or most of us know something about German football. I have seen Salihovic, he's not bad. probably would be a little dearer £10?.
He wouldn't add anything other then another body to us. he just isn't United class. I think your "source" is incorrect

Ed are we going to get Gansa if Shnieder goe to the noisy neighbours?{Ed002's Note - I rather think that Ganso will not be moving to Manchester United this summer. The player still has his heart set on a move to Milan but that would need to be next season now - and the only thing that could disrupt that is a bid from Chelsea or a change of heart over the offer from Anzhi.}

Note on Shinji Kagawa, doesn't seem to leave as his Dortmund club is going to CL and is on 3 year contract with a possibility of extension. This year will be important to him and his club because of his great talent. Don't be surprised if we are looking at him over in the future. The dude would work flawlessly into United.

Just back from Manchester people i was talking to inside club told me Wesley Sneijder will join they are very confident deal going through as said before utd have already agreed personal terms it is the fee inter want they won't accept less £35m but as said before a deal will happen a fee about £30m plus extra on future success with utd. Tell you want i was told utd before US Tour told Inter they would pay £24m for him Inter told utd they would not sell for less than £35m so David Gill told them we would discuss more when returned from US Tour utd returned with a offer £30m day after the Tour then City decided to put a bid on table £31m meaning utd will have to up offer for him there will be more discussions between both clubs today and Tuesday hoping to thrash out deal so Inter get money to bring in Tevez. City want Sneijder just stop him going utd to make them stronger the player wants the move to utd so do Nike which is big money to him joining City would not go down well with Nike. I think will happen but not sure it will be done by Friday. Someone who has SPOKEN TO PEOPLE INSIDE CLUB NOT NAMING WHO BECAUSE THEY WILL GET IN TROUBLE.

Believable12 Unbelievable17

Can't see Nike having any problem with him joining city as Nike own Umbro.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sneijnder joining city wouldnt bother Nike this is due to the fact that Nike own Umbro. So its win win for Nike who ever he joins. I ont think we will be signing anyone else due to cleverly's resent displays.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nike would be pissed off if joins City because utd and Barcelona are biggest shirt sellers for them i know for fact they advised if he wants to leave inter it is Man Utd or stay put so if does not join he will stay Inter will sell someone else to bring in money. The player has no interest in joining City he decide on club when he was on Holiday in America with family. Utd trying to sell the players to raise their bid to bring him in.

Well done Cleverley lad, Well done Welbeck, hope they both play against Holland. If Henderson cost £20m, imagine what Welbeck & Cleverley would cost. I am glad these lads are finally proving me right, I knew they were the dogs.

Believable24 Unbelievable6

Welbeck might miss the Holland game with an ankle injury he picked up yesterday. Great news about Cleverley, though.

Matthew...

Agree0 Disagree0

Cleverley has a chance to improve and prove more to our club. Hope he does well.

My guess is that combined Welbeck & Cleverley would cost 10m at the most? Henderson still has plently of time to justify his fee, and he will.

Don't get carried away guys Cleverley has only had friendly's and 45 mins on Sunday. He has looked good though, he is clearly better than the overpriced Liverpool wanna be. Price £12m Wellbeck and £7m Cleverley, strikers prices are often higher. Henderson's worth £5m

Real Madrid to sign Neymar and will join up with the squad in December. Spurs to sign Lassana Diarra, Stoke to sign Palacios. Lukaku to Chelsea. Obertan to Newcastle.

Are things picking up again?

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - I think the Neymar story has a little further to run Syd. Much will depend on (a) what Real Madrid do over the next couple of weeks regarding another striker, and (b) how Real Madrid react to a further request from Santos regarding the timing of the transfer.}

Believable10 Unbelievable2

Is it true that Real want Adebayor on loan til January, until they bring in Neymar? I think you are perhaps hoping Real sign Tevez? But even that could end up being a loan deal similar to the Tevez to United loan deal. Anzhi are ready to pay £27m for Eto'o and that could free-up some money for Inter.

I agree that there is still a lot that could change, but that is why they call it silly season. But I do believe Neymar is Real's top target and I do believe Neymar wants the Real move, so chances are he will end up there. Real didn't go for Pastore or Llorente, so I imagine it's because they are saving their funds for Neymar.

I have a strong suspicion we will push for Kagawa in the next couple of weeks, which would be much to mine and Gan's delight. I know Dortmund said they wouldn't sell no sooner than January, but I think he has a price and United would meet it. His wages will be low so I think we may be hearing Kagawa rumours much more frequently over the next three weeks.

He is a very good player and just 22. I think it's time we tapped into the Japanese market. A couple Japanese sponsors will pay for Kagawa after a few years. The deal makes so much sense.

Sydney!"""
dear mr Sydney!
hope you are right
the very reason why ngiak thinks that he is a much better deal than sneijder
and his star is rising
unlike an overpaid almost over the hill dutchman who is looking for his retirement package
and also..
the options are dwindling
both goetze and ganso have come out and said they are NOT leaving their clubs
pastore (thankfully) and sahin are sold
not much else unless sir alex pulls a surprise
another amazing development is that man united are NOT among a host of teams bidding a measly 10 million for douglas costa
is ngiak missing something?
gan
ps... it would be absolutely perfect if parker and kagawa come in... perfect

Believable4 Unbelievable9

I have not been told Kagawa will sign it's just a feeling I have and it makes sense that we will target him as he ticks all of the boxes. I was told that Dortmund will not let him go until January at the earliest, not sure why. I hope he didn't get him mixed up with Honda at CSKA?

Ngiak WTH are u on about? How can anyone say that Sneijder is almost over the hill? he's 27 isn't that when players are in their peak? n who's to say he wont stil b playing when he's 35? that's 8 more years, I suppose Xavi is over the hill then in that case? and Iniesta will be next year when he's 27? Your all fickle, you fink its Football manager where every player has to b under 24 otherwise they wil not improve, Sneijder is probably in the top 3 best cm's in the world and anyone who says otherwise clearly doesn't have a clue

Big Mac

Agree0 Disagree0

Sneijder whilst not quite over the hill, has a list of injuries a mile long. He's held together with vinegar and brown paper. Hamsik would be a far better buy at just 24. With 11 league goals and 15ish assists. He would be well suited to the prem. He even looks like a smaller version of RVN.
Sneijder would only play 25 games per
year. He was injured or average at Real, he had a really good season 2009-2010, then injuries and average last term. In fact 2009-2010 was his only good season club wise since leaving Ajax. I'm the first to admit he is brilliant at the competitions with Holland, but take a look at his club stats -1 good season fairly injury free out of the last 4.We do need extra numbers in midfield,if not Hamsik I think Ganso may move in January. There's Martin, McCarthy, M'vila,Lucas. Deals to be had If we were to get Sneidjer, I think £20m tops and £120.000 per week would be worth a gamble, of course I realize that just wouldn't happen. I like Costa and realize he has sort of moved inside from the wing, but he looks far better as a winger, but we don't need a winger we've got buckets loads of them. Would have much preferred Costa to the ordinary Young. Would be worth offering £25m for Thiago, even £30m this kid is the biz May well get turned down, but that's a lot of cash for someone who won't be in the first team for 2-4 seasons. Iniesta is 27 Xavi is 31 but is at his peak. Iniesta has a good 5-6 seasons left and Xavi 3 at least.
I think Carrick,Fletcher, Anderson, Giggs and Cleverley is not good enough. Giggs is top draw, but time must start sapping his legs soon. Cleverley looked good at Wembley, but that was 45minutes only.Fletcher has a great work ethic and spirit, but isn't the most gifted. Carrick can do a job, but isn't inspirational. Anderson sometimes look really good, if clumsy. I think he could do with losing 20 pounds. Pogba is going to be excellent, but maybe in another year. Morrison wonderfully gifted, but needs to get of his BMX, take of the bandana and hoody and grow up.Unfortunately Tunnicliffe is on loan at the son of the bosses outfit. He is the most mature of the youth midfielders and I'd stake my left testicle he'll be a top player. We still need to buy, Hamsik is the marquee option, Martin and Sissoko the value option. Ganso would be my choice and you can only dream what Thiago could do. Number 20 no problems, champions league, not without buying.

All of this about City not being interested in Sneijder is ridiculous. Mancini is lying, City and Inter have been talking all weekend trying to work out a deal for the player. Just like United and Inter were talking before that, just like Inter invited Malaga to Milan for discussions before United come in for him.

What I have heard is that United have pulled out of the deal and the options to Sneijder right now, is either staying at Inter or joining City. I believe he will be a City player come September 1st. Not sure Tevez will be involved in the deal, but you have to say it's likely.

Ed002 have you heard anything on this yet?

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - Nothing Syd.}

Believable6 Unbelievable12

It has been in the media that United have pulled out of a possible Sneijder deal, so what you have "heard" is pretty much out there.
Of course City would be interested in Sneijder, as he ticks all of there boxes. World star player, available, and most importantly, United were interested in him. It gives them more credibility on the world football stage, and they can claim its another blow against their neighbours.
Unfortunately for City, as we saw yesterday, they cannot buy heart and soul, which undoubtedly City's owners have, no doubt inadvertantly, ripped out of their club.

Agree0 Disagree0

I could be wrong Sydney!, but i do feel Mancini is usually pretty honest when talking about transfer speculation, so i do think he might be telling the truth when he says that he hasn't discussed Sneijder. Either that or he doesn't have that much say in who the club buys and these decisions are made by Cook and Marwood, and a deal may be getting set up by them. Either way it does appear that Sneijder is on his way out of Inter soon, and i think there's a good chance he'll be at Old Trafford and even though i do think Sneijder is a great player, personally id prefer Modric as i think he would fit better into our team.
Andy B

Agree0 Disagree0

Syd,
For once, i think you're wrong. I don't think Sniejder wants to go to City, nor will it take till the 1st of September. i hear he's off to United THIS WEEK. Of course, I could be wrong, but Nasri is who Man City want and he's a contract of £185k a week (ridiculous). My source also told me about Lukaku's deal a few weeks ago, so i have no reason to not believe him.

On another note, Tom Cleverley was excellent on Sunday. whilst we can't depend on him, he does offer hope for the future, so if we didn't get Sneijder, but played our youth players, i'd be more than happy.

Agree0 Disagree0

'No name'

Yes it is out there, so is reports that he will only join United, so are reports that he will sign for City, so are reports that City are interested, so are reports that City aren't interested, that Sneijder will only join United, that he will join whoever meets his wage demands. I couldn't care less what the papers say, I only go by what a player says and quotes from people in the newspaper stories. A story without quotes is hear say and nothing more.

When I asked what are the chances of Sneijder joining United he replied "70/30, 70% chance of City and 30% chance he will stay at Inter". At this time United have officially pulled out of the race to sign him. I have a feeling we will try for Kagawa. I am not going to get into this source or 'in the know' rubbish as I couldn't care less about being in the know. But if I hear a rumour, then surely this is the place to post it?

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

'Andy B'

You could be right, but it's highly unlikely that he would be kept in the dark completely over the situation. He will know his colleagues are working on a deal for Sneijder, but they could have went ahead with the talks without his permission.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

United won't sign Kagawa, certainly not yet anyway, Sydney always comes out with rubbish about my source says this my source says that when really Sydney doesnt really have a clue about anything. Sneijder is the number 1 target, I fink if this fails, Sir Alex wont sign anyone. but I reckon Sneijder will join United. Not sayin I've got a source or anything, I jus reckon it will happen.

Big Mac

Agree0 Disagree0

'Big Mac'

I don't believe what I am being told is rubbish, he has no reason to lie. And I don't "Always" come out with rubbish about my source. In-fact I rarely repeat the stuff he tells me as most of it is about Russian footy or Slovenian footy. Both league do not interest me. He is not a source at United, he is actually not a source at any particular club, but he does have an interest in the Sneijder deal because he is an Inter fan.

I agree that Sneijder was our main target, I have been saying as much for the past few weeks now, but according to him the Sneijder deal is dead in the water and I believe him. But just because United are out of the race now, it doesn't mean we will stay out. All he said was at this moment in time United have told Inter what they are willing to pay, they have offered Sneijder a package and United will not budge. And from what I hear City have offered more money to the club and the player than we have. So unless Sneijder comes out and says he only wants to join us, then he is obviously favourite to join City, isn't he?

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sydney, you have got to be one of the nicest people in the world lol reading over my comment it sounds like i'm being a c**t towards you and i apologise. I fink it will happen with sneijder goin utd cos i fink nasri wil end up at city cos he is a money grabber, as much as cleverly was awesome yesterday I dont fink we can rely on him too much. I fink Sneijder n Anderson would b world class n then the likes of Cleverley and fletch could rotate with carrick and giggs as further options. Pogba and Morrison wil b carling cup players this year I think and not much more, ther onli bout 17 arnt they? plenty of time left. Like i sed i apologise for the earlier comment about coming out with rubbish, jus desperate for sneijder to sign and i seem to argue with everyone who says he shudnt lol the onli doubt i have about sneijder is that we have no good numbers left in the squad lol it sounds mad n people wil say a number doesnt matter but in reality it does. cant really imagine Sneijer 2 on the bk of a utd shirt.

Big Mac

Agree0 Disagree0

'Big Mac'

I agree with most of what you have just said, Sneijder would be good for Cleverley and Anderson if he signed, they would learn a lot from him. But Nasri signing for City will have no bearing on what happens with Sneijder. City want Nasri for the right-wing after missing out on Sanchez, they want Sneijder for central midfield. They want both and I think they will get both.

Nasri was going to join us before City come in and gazumped us. He has apparently agreed personal terms with City via his agent according to reports in France. Not sure how true they are though. I think Nasri would have been a great signing for us. And we could offer him a central midfield role, unlike City.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sydney,

As I have been posting on here for several weeks now the Sneijder deal is done and will play out in the press later this week. At the moment Utd have people in London awaiting the arrival of the player for the England friendly and they are hoping to get the go-ahead off Inter in the next 24 hrs to take him to Manchester on Thursday of this week. The player himself has given interviews with Journo's in Holland and stated his only desire if leaving Inter is to play for Utd. The deal is done, be patient and await the announcement later this week.

Dortmund won't sell due to involvement in CL, especially after Sahin leaving. Your suggestion makes sence for us, but not for Dortmund.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ithink if we are gonna sign anyone from Dortmund it should be Gotze. He looks like a class act. Good on the ball, can player a killer pass and will score his share of the goals. Plus he is only 19.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am actually now convinced your "We will definately sign another midfielder, you are morans if you say otherwise" (or words to that effect) is going to bite you on the backside Sydney. I actually suprisingly DONT think we are going to make anymore signings this summer now.

I think Goetze is untouchable this summer, but I think Kagawa is available for the right price. Gundogan has replaced Sahin with ease. I am sure Dortmund are already looking at a replacement for Kagawa.

We have so far looked at bringing Sneijder & Nasri to the club. Believe it or not they are central midfielders. If we fail to bring in a central midfielder as they have snubbed us for City or they have chosen to stay at their current clubs, it's hardly my fault is it? But I have faith that we will capture someone.

I believed we would sign a central midfielder on the basis that we were trying to sign a central midfielder. I have said all along that managers don't even know who they will sign, they may know who they want to sign, but they cannot guarantee they will sign them. No one can guarantee they will sign someone. I certainly never called someone a person for thinking we wouldn't sign a midfielder.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't mind at all if we got shinji kagawa, he's brilliant watched him in the asian cup too. I'd rather have kagawa than goetze because he has a bit more pace and dribbling skill

Agree0 Disagree0

Anyone to replace carrick hes just plain AWFUL

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no evidence but paper talk we have made any moves whatsoever for Sneider. The club themselves have said they have had no offers from either Manchester clubs. I also stated two months Dortmund stated Gotze was NOT going to be sold in the summer for any amount of money, something you totally disagreed with, but yet again you now change your tune. I also dont believe a bit of this Snieder talk, however you can argue as much as you like, as until the market closes and a midfielder is signed or not signed the argument is irrelavant. However no doubt if we dont sign one, you will go an as you are already about us missing out on our targets and players you are certain we are going to sign, one of which Oxlade-Chamberlain you can add to your list.
Invisible Stuey

Agree0 Disagree0

Add to that Sydney, you keep going on about some of our youngsters and being certain Cleverly, Pogba et al were going to make it as soon as you started following them once at the club. As three or four of these players are midfielders and you have this faith in them, why should we be trying to sign a central midfielder, especially ones like Gotze and Kagawa who only really have a years more experience under there belts than the names you have always known are going to make it, isnt that contradicting a belief?

Agree0 Disagree0

'Invisible Stuey'

I am aware Dortmund have said Goetze is not for sale, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's true. That was my point a couple of months ago. They never started off by saying he was not for sale, they kept putting prices on his head which kept rising every couple of months because his performances were improving. He will have a price but it will be a silly price. Dortmund's CEO said recently that they wouldn't sell him, even for £20m. So I guess they would want offers upwards of that amount. £30m would be too much for them to turn down, but the problem now is Goetze himself is happy to stay at the club. This time last year when linked to our club for 12m euros, he said he would love to join a club of our size. But now he is in the CL with his club, he won't want to move for at least a year.

I never said AOC was certain to sign for us, I thought he was possible, especially after we held talks with Southampton, but to be honest we don't need him. Not with Cleverley's recent displays. I do have a lot of confidence in Pogba & Morrison, but it will be 1-2 years before they will be regulars. Whether you believe it or not, both City & United have been talking to Inter as well as Malaga. Malaga have not been in the race for a good month mind. Chelsea also enquired about him a couple of months ago but never followed it up, wages were too high I believe. I suppose it's your choice not to believe that United and City have been talking to Inter, but it's incredibly naive. Inter themselves have said that United or City are yet to make a non-refusable offer, so it's clear verbal offers have been made.

I would take Kagawa now because we have a squad that is rotated often. Giggs & Carrick will be gone in a year or so, why would it be so bad to have Kagawa, Fletcher, Tunnicliffe, Morrison, Cleverley, Anderson & Pogba in our squad? Last season we had Scholes, Giggs, Hargreaves, Carrick, Fletcher, Anderson & Gibson in the squad.
