Anyone think we'll go for an cb this summer?
Im sorry if its been answered, but was wondering due to all this rumours that we're in for Garay.

It would make sense with Rio's age, it would allow Jones to be used as a DM, and it would add depth to the squad.
When we bought Jones we nearly got Varane if it weren't for that blasted ZeeZee
So maybe. Garay is 26yrs old very experienced. Played in Argie, Spain & Portugal and would be able to communicate with DeGea at the back. I'm pretty sure he's left footed.

Sokratis papas would be a cheaper option than garay.
I think it will depend on rio's new contract. If its a full time 1 year deal than I don't expect any1 to come in as we are well stocked in that area with micheal keane emerging well as well as wooton progressing well also.
But if rio gets pay as you play deal than I think a genuine back up will be brought as jones and smallings are young despite being good. Because there is no alternate of experience. So the likes of ogbona. or garay makes sence as they are at good age.

I agree with most of you guys, I think it all depends on whos leaving this summer.
I'd prefer Hummels to be honest, but hey there is not one person on this site which wouldn't prefer Hummels lol.

I expect Jones and Smalling to gget more game time and see them as first choice pair in a couple of years. Jones will be a real modern ball player like Pique, Smalling brings pace, height and power. Only concern is partnering vidic until they are ready as Rio is barely up to it now and another year is pushing it, while Evans is not good enough for anything but backup.

Thorne your talking rubbish Evans has been our best defender this year despite constantly changing personnel alongside him and keeper issues behind him. MrE
Thought J. Evans was magnificent last weekend. May only of been Fulham (who played fantastic), but he carried the ball out of defence better than any other centre back we stock - and that includes the much lauded Ferdinand!
The boy's a scapegoat for others failings!
Evans is way overated.
