Ed if you could shed some wisdom please regarding christen Ericsson some papers say he will move in the summer an the most likely destination would be spurs or Liverpool our name never came into it which I tought strange an I'm wondering if it's just a paper seller or does it have substance an if so are we monitoring the situation

Thanks in advance

CAIN {Ed002's Note - Liverpool, Manchester City, Roma, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Spurs, Inter and AC Milan have shown some level of interest in Eriksen in the past year or so. He has already rejected both Manchester City and Chelsea but AC Milan and Spurs remain the most interested clubs. I would not rule out Bayern Munich, Manchester City or other previously interested clubs regaining interest in him - although I would say that it is unlikely that Inter or Chelsea would be interested. Back in July the Milan Press Office were convinced of interest from Manchester United and they have let it be known that they expected a bid to be made by for Eriksen. Expect Milan and Roma to press if a bid is made by Manchester United and I remain in agreement with them that there is every chance of that happening. The player remains adament that he will stay in Amsterdam for18 more months before moving to Spain but would likely jump at the chance of a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona if the opportunity arises. However, Ajax will not let him run down his contract so a move beckons in the summer. The player will see out the rest of the season at Ajax and see if he can attract attention from Spain.}

Thanks for that ;)

Can't see Fergie signing a midfielder again. Even if Scholes retires and Fletcher doesn't come back he still has Carrick, Anderson, Jones, Giggs, Kagawa and Cleverley. Even Rooney and Raphael have played there. Young, Zaha and Nani could play a central attacking role. I, like most people on here think we need a midfielder or two but stubborn Fergie doesn't I fear. Especially given his recent comments regarding Powell and Januzaj.

Interesting one, Lewandowski has stated that his preferential move is to United in the summer and to be honest I can see this happening. I think with Welbecks ability to play on the right and Rooneys drift towards a midfield role, I can see us picking up a 5th striker this summer. If we then go and get a decent CM and maybe a CB I will be happy.

Lewandowski to partner RVP, Roo dropping into attacking midfield, Kagawa moving defence to attack and yes maybe another quality CB. The stuff of dreams. From our mouths to Gods ears eh?

Agree0 Disagree0

Hernandez will definitely be gone then.

Agree0 Disagree0

I still don't see this happening, despite how good Lewandowski is. Just too many strikers, and while Rooney and Welbeck can play deeper or wider, it will force them to play outside of their best positions almost all of the time. Lewandowski's arrival would mean no Ronaldo, and probably the move of Chicharito eventually as he will see all of his appearances disappear as he can't go wide like Rooney or Welbeck. Munich are going to have quite the attacking force if/when they sign him!

Agree1 Disagree0

I disagree KG. Bayern are a good team full of average players in a attacking sense, Ribery is so overrated it makes me laugh, Robben isn't getting any younger, Gomez for me is there best option but can get in the team. You are right if what you are getting at is that Lewandowski is in fact what they need but I still don't see him joining another German side.
Lets wait and see. The only other point I believe you make that has some substance is that Hernandez might be moved out which would anger me as I am his biggest fan.

How many of those who said Rooney would leave still stand by that in the wake of SAF's comment this morning?

Or are you going to tell us he's playing mind games?

Get over it Rooney is still the beating heart of the team just look at the effect he had when he came on against Real.

Believable30 Unbelievable17

Did you honestly expect him to say anything else.
'He's finished'
'We're desperate to get rid of him'
'Not fit enough'
Would knock millions off his price in one swipe.

Agree2 Disagree0

He may or may not leave. Do you not remember when SAF said that he wouldn't even sell Madrid a virus, nevermind Ronaldo? Well where is Ronaldo now? Point proven.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't expect the manager to say anything different. We have a league title to win.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

I also seem to recall a Mr Ferguson saying Beckham wouldn't leave United and that he wouldn't sell Madrid a virus! let's just wait and see what happens come the summer. If he goes he goes the club will go on. If he stays then brilliant!

Agree0 Disagree0

What effect was that, he missed a sitter from 6 yards. Hernandez would have scored that with his eyes shut.
Was he the heart beat of the team when he came to pure season a stone overweight?
He has shown that he couldn't be professional enough to control his weight let alone the ball!

Agree1 Disagree0

If you think he's going to come out & say that's it were getting rid of rooney at the end of the season. Than you need to give your head a good shake.

Agree1 Disagree0

As far as I can recall, Sir Alex never did sell them a virus, just a player who he had already acknowledged would go there sooner or later. he was just trying to get an acceptable price.

Beckham was different due to a major falling out, which clearly hasn't happened here as evident from Rooneys demeanor when they arrived for the Real game.

Agree1 Disagree0

"Beating Heart beat" How old are you and we obviously were dead on tuesday because he was not playing until the 75 minute.

Shahram

Agree0 Disagree0

Ronaldo, beckham van nistilrooy all players in there prime when they left united all to madrid

Agree0 Disagree0

Ye - we got beat and he missed a sitter

Agree0 Disagree0

What effect?

How about the one where he fired everyone else up, and drove the team on. He does it all the time and that is why I called him the beating heart of the team.

Rooney epitomizes the determination, drive, passion and unyielding will to win which characterizes utd under SAF. It's what has enabled utd to win so many league titles even when our squad looks weaker than our rivals on paper. It was one of the things Keano brought to the team and so does Rooney. He leads by example and makes the team try harder.

Agree0 Disagree0

Beckham wasn't in his prime, we moved him on as we had Ronaldo coming in to replace him. It was good business as his value would have declined with every year.

As for Ronaldo, he always wanted to play for REal Madrid so had no choice.

Then as good as Van Nistelrooy was, we weren't exactly at our most successful when he was at United

Agree0 Disagree0

We got beat and fergy has said this in previous years stam keane Rudd v etc

In the managers press conference to day The Boss stated that "trust me" Rooney will be here next year

. it's not nailed on, but has been discussed. David Gill has spent last 4 weeks in discussion with Levy over Bale. In last 24 hrs Levy has requested Rooney + £12m for Gareth Bale. The deal will be done. with utd contributing to Rooney wages for first 12 months,

In-cider

Believable8 Unbelievable126

LOL mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rubbish. Rooney would never agree to go there even if we wanted that deal to happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh. why don't u just drink cider and leave in out.
Rooney going nowhere.

Rodio17

Agree0 Disagree0

If Rooney goes, it won't be to London.

Danny

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not nailed on - it's made up. Rooney will be with us next season.

TommyH

Eds or anyone,
If we did end up selling Rooney would there be a realistic chance of us bidding and getting Falcao? {Ed007's Note - No.}

Believable7 Unbelievable33

Forget falcoe - we can't afford him - he's going to chelsea
