hello Ed02, its great to see you back. read all your answers/replays thoroughly.
please tell me, if united have any interest in witsel. he was chased last summer before his costly move; and now it says he is unsettled because of some problem. its reported a few times that united scouts have started monitoring him again keeping January deal in mind. {Ed002's Note - There was interest in Witsel from Anzhi, Manchester United, AC Milan and Real Madrid before he moved to Zenit - with bids rejected from the first two. I am not aware of any specific interest at this time nor any intention for a January move. Scouts go to games constantly so I would not read too much in to that.}

Hi Eds I was just wondering whether there is an update on januzajs contract? Also do you think it will be sorted out during this international break? I think its a good time to do it since most players are away and januzaj will be staying in Manchester and there's not much Moyes can do while his players are away so he should do it this week imo.
Thanks {Ed002's Note - I expect him to sign a new deal when his representatives are satisfied it is a good deal. They will first want to consider what other options are available and what other clubs are interested - I have explained that previously so the search engine should help. I cannot speculate on timescales.}

Hi Ed, how are you? A little question, not only to you but other posters too. Do you think Kagawa is wanting to leave or better yet, would you happen to know if Manchester United are looking to offload him?

I cannot help but think something may happen and we'll lose a great talent due to lack of playing time. I'm not one to believe papers but the stories told in them don't help either.

Thanks, appreciate it as usual. {Ed002's Note - I don't know what he wants but I would suspect there could be interest shown in him that could lead to him moving on.}

Question for any of the Ed's would appreciate a answer of some sorts.

Is there any real possibility of players coming in january, and is there any chance of us picking up a world class talent in January, I realise in terms of the champions league "world class talent" would be useless as they would more than likely have already played in the comp! but any whispers? {Ed001's Note - there are likely to be signings, Moyes just likes to take time to do research into the background of his signings. He won't make snap decisions, such as when Ozil became available, because he likes to know the player inside out before signing them. I would expect him to have made some choices by January, so it will be down to the Equaliser to get their signatures on a contract. I would also expect him to be able to do so. I know Moyes is looking or has looked at the info on Garay, so he must be a probable. I have been told he wanted info on a couple of FC Porto players as well: Hector Herrera and Alex Sandro. Not saying that he will move for either, but he is doing his research on them. Problem is, going by his time at Everton, he will probably research about 60 players for every one he will make a move for.}

@Ed001

An interesting insight from you.

Just to add to this discussion, I think given the time Moyes will make some very good signings. The players like Fabregas, Baines, Herrera, Khedira that we went for during the summer are exactly the players we have been crying out for and to me, Moyes was trying to address the core issues with this United side.

The most important thing imo is that he will bring a fresh perspective on the players already at the club and will have no bias towards any of them. I have heard rumblings that he might let Young and Valencia go. The ruthless streak of letting the deadwood go was lacking in Sir Alex's last few years.

His work ethic is something that Moyes has always been given credit for and I think it showed with the faith he has shown in Adnan Januzaj after having watched him for the reserves. No doubt that Adnan's talent and hard work has got him where he is but Moyes needs to be given credit for trusting a young player in a game of such pressure and importance.

It was a bit unfair on him and the equalizer during the transfer window, both started off with a huge handicap, Moyes not being allowed any time to do quality research on players and the the equalizer not being able to capitalize on the deals which were already set up under SAF on whom groundwork had already been done.

Its interesting you say that you expect him to be able to get the signatures on the contract. Imo his commercial strategy is one of the principal reason why United are still comfortable with the debt and has been incredibly shrewd there, he is no fool and I expect him to get things right.

Hoping for the best in the next couple of windows. {Ed001's Note - most people who have reached the position in life he has reached are capable of learning from their mistakes. I am quite sure he wouldn't have been trusted with a job like that without the ability to seal deals. The mistake was making such wholesale changes in one go, so everything was too busy with the turnover of staff, and unable to concentrate on signings, until it was late in the window. Though it could be seen as a quick short term pain for long term gain, similar to ripping off a plaster, rather than slowly peeling it away.}
