Hi eds, is it true that Chelsea has finalized the move for Ajax's Juan Famillia Castillo? We were very close to a deal for many months, weren't we?

Thanks for the great work.

{Ed004's Note - Apparently so}

Eds, earlier there used to be many rumours of Subotic moving on from Dortmund in the summer. There have been no rumours after the season ended. Are any clubs interested? are United interested? Many thanks for the great work.

{Ed002's Note - I think he wants to stay.}

Eds, is Varane on the market? There have been a few rumours about Jose being interested in him.

I think he is the best young CB in the world and I don't believe for a minute that Real would let him go. And if he is indeed on the market, would United be interested?

Thanks in advance.

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea has a sustained interest in Varane but Real Madrid do not want to sell, particularly given that their proposed replacement, Mangala, will almost certainly not be available to them. Manchester United do not enter in to the equation.}

1.) Surprised we have an interest in cavani, is rvp off?

{Ed002's Note - I would not try and make such assumptions from the club showing an interest in a player.}

Hi Eds,

Never posted a question here before. Will be glad if you could answer this. Tried the search function as well.

What do you make of Leon Goretzka? Any news where he will be moving this summer, if he is moving? With Vfl Bochum likely to be relegated and with their manager fired, there are rumours that he might move. Are United interested?

I suspect Bayern Munich would be the most likely destination.

Thanks in advance.

May be the decision makers think that Giggs needs more time as someone's deputy. May be even Giggs was in favour of it.

Thanks for the insight Ed002.

Do you have info on possible clauses relating to Madrid making an offer for him next summer and United accepting it if it is above a certain threshold? Basically, a Madrid specific buyout?

{Ed002's Note - Of course there won't be - he is simply another player signing a new contract.}

One thing you can't accuse LvG of is Favouritism. Example being, RvP. He stopped being useful to us and LvG got rid. He has no favourites except the ones who fit his system.

Also, we as a club have never worried too much about overpaying for a player we WANT. Ronaldo, they said, was worth 6-8 mn when we paid 12-13 mn to get the deal done ahead of others. We liked Veron, we paid 30 mn. We broke the bank for Di Maria and Falcao. We asked Chelsea to name their price for Mata. We knew we wouldn't get many stellar seasons from RvP, but we still paid 24 mn. So don't pay too much attention to rumours saying we stalled over a couple of millions for Pedro.

You expressed my sentiments perfectly, HoneyBadger.

Why would you want to get rid of one of the best performers of last season? He's no Neymar and LvG is not expecting 'Neymaresque' performance when he plays him.

Plus, he is home grown. We can't be doing a city and not have any English players at all. Or else, in few years' time, we would be paying huge sums even for half decent English players.

Cookyman, why such negativity?

I was a little worried when we let both Brown and O'Shea go as Rafael was still quite raw. But he has developed into a fine player. Still has so much time being just 22.

Speaks volume about our education that we can bring talented kids from really diverse backgrounds and turn them into the best players on the planet.
