Not fan of Manchester nor any United Kingdom team but like the premiership when we get in my country.
Particular interest in what we see as the major six ones and manchesters and Liverpool are some of those
I cannot understand why Liverpool can buy good and Manchester poor is that because of theirs recent historys?
{Ed077's Note - Kind of yes.

Remember there are rules about how much each club can spend, butI guess there are 2 main reasons.
1. United have spent a lot of money, some would say wasted a lot of money, over paying for players, such as Antony, Sancho, Hojlund, so we've spent the money but not seen the results.
2. Liverpool are currently more successful and are therefore earning more money. They've also spent and sold well, meaning they are under less pressure to stay within the rules.
United are also owned by blood sacking leeches who have saddled the club with huge debt, further limiting spending power.

Liverpool have money to spend and we don't. It will be intersting how Liverpool investment works out, they had a fairly settled squad and now 5 new signings are going to push out some fan and player favourites. If they don't hit the ground running there will be questions asked.
3.) 25 Jul 2025 22:05:15
What good players haven’t we signed? Cunha and Mbeumo are 2 of the best players in the league. Let’s not believe all of the narrative.

Usually, when a top team comes out with the big bucks, I expect a degree of initial disappointment.
However, I think Liverpool have spent very well and I, regrettably, expect to see this season as the next step towards the building of their next iconic team.
Mamardashvili was confirmed last summer and will prove to be an excellent acquisition.
Frimpong and Kerkez will each swiftly find that extra level and thrive.
Wirtz will do the Szoboszlai work, but with a better engine and a level of class that will be incredible.
Ekitike is, imo, as good as perfect for the responsibilities required of the No9 in Slot's newly-refreshed system.
The beauty of Liverpool's attacking prowess this coming season will be the truly elite fluidity where Ekitike, Wirtz, Salah and Diaz/ Gakpo will be able to switch and move in such a way that the 'click' will happen quickly.
Additionally, all 4/ 5 can drop back and mix it in midfield where the axis of Gravenberch and MacAllister will already be supported by the workrates of Frimpong and Kerkez.
The only position they're currently weak in, in terms of depth, is CB.
Van Dijk is 34 now and it's starting to show. Gomez and Konate are each never too far away from problematic injuries - I'm actually surprised they didn't fight Arsenal for Mosquera and seemingly aren't fighting Chelsea for Hato. The step down to Williams is steep, they should be looking at a new CB instead of Isak, imo.
Ultimately, seeing how well Liverpool are doing things these days makes me sick to my stomach because United are still so many miles behind them that it's quite laughable to think of our net spend being so much higher. Sod the last 5 years, since 2014 we carry a net spend of over 198% more than that of Liverpool - nearly £3 for every quid spent at Liverpool.
We have won stuff - 2 FA Cups, 2 EFL Cups, 1 Europa League and a Community Shield - but that's nothing compared to 2 League titles, 1 FA Cup, 2 EFL Cups, 1 Champions League title, 1 Super Cup, 1 CWC and a Community Shield.
The value of return on our net spend for over a decade is clownish.
If just one word could sum up the lasting legacy and stench of the Glazers and all their equally incompetent lackeys, it's 'pathetic'.
I expect us to improve this season, but modestly - I expect to be gurning with jealousy at Liverpool.
???????????.

I’m impressed by Liverpools business but also remain skeptical. There’s a lot of risk going into next season for them.
Wirtz has had a very significant injury and the history of Bundesliga to EPL transitions is full of disappointment.
Mamardashvili - not an improvement on Allison. (My favourite Liverpool player, if I had to pick one. )
Kerkez is great going forward but positional poor and will take time to adapt. But will be good long term I’m sure.
Frimpong- same Bundesliga transition risk and not played in a back 4. Defensively suspect. Offers less than Trent.
Ekitike - same Bundesliga risk, very patchy record but would be a solid back up to Isak. Frankfurt also have history for getting good numbers out of forwards who fail to replicate it at their next club.
Also Klopps team under Slot won the EPL, next season its Slots team, Klopp’s team has been disassembled.
Jota is a tragedy that will hang over next season, I feel awful writing that but it’s a heavy load for a team to carry and it’s said with respect and without malice.
Konate is waiting to go to Madrid.
Diaz is off to Munich. I rate that little beast, he’s erratic but a handful.
Salah and VVD as good as they are, they are not immune to the touch of Father Time.
All that said they could just keep getting better but it’s definitely a transitional season for them and finishing top 4/ 5 would be a decent return.
I think Chelsea are the ones to watch next season along with Arsenal.

It's simply been bad management. Look at our 10 most expensive signings:
Pogba, Antony, Maguire, Sancho, Lukaku, Højlund, Di Maria and Mount have all been disappointing. Mbuemo and Cunha remain to be seen.
You could add a load more at lower but substantial cost, like Van Der Beek, Onana, etc who we have paid over the odds for and who have been failures.
The result has been poor performance, debt, PSR issues and now what will likely be reduced revenues, so that we have a combination of a worse financial outlook and, with no European football, a less attractive destination for top players. Liverpool have spent £300m while we're scraping £130 together and can't get anyone to buy our rejects.

Utd road, did I just read that right, your saying Liverpool 4th or 5th and that be decent for them Or am I
Hallucinating or something! I was just waiting for you to say we will be in the top 4, then I know I would have needed the men in white coats!
8.) 26 Jul 2025 09:31:52
Been a reader not a poster but had to chime in here. Newname is exactly right it has been all about the club management and inability to get players to work together. Sometimes when you get egos then too many of them clash unless you manage them. Best not get too many egotistical players anyway. None of those listed are anything but good in their own right but have not worked in THIS TEAM with THIS Management (for a while) . Cunha is another ego so waiting to see how that pans out.

GS - Liverpool just need to keep the UCL cash flowing and remain competitive while they transition the team.
Based on the amount of squad churn and trauma they are going through it’s more important to maintain position in UCL.
There’s no shame if Chelsea, City and Arsenal finish ahead of Liverpool as they bed in new GK, LB, RB, LW, CF and then build a new team to challenge.
The reality is Wenger was right, UCL drives commercial performance and appeal to new players. Look how flaking out on the Europa final cost Utd.
As far as Utd go, Conte with a 343 won an EPL without UCL midweek. But I tend to think Amorim will sacked by Christmas, we’ll get Carrick until the end of the season then go for a German (Nagglesman, Hoeness, Tuchel), 6th at best.
10.) 26 Jul 2025 11:33:25
There is no way Liverpool will not win the league again. As we well know the top teams have their eras and Frustrating as it is I think it will be there era again. At some point they will slide but I think they will be 3 or 4 ahead in the divisional title dials by then unless this club management gets a grip!

Sorry I used poor in my write. I never meant poor Cunha and Mbeumo are good but like others that never worked and not the type Manchester buyings when they were better. I think also cunha and Bruno attitude might clash. Here a lot say Bruno very good but attitude has meant many players left to be better ant other teams. Liverpool buys look excellent but is it too change in one transfer season will that affect them and maybe other Manchester and arsenal benefit?
{Ed077's Note - are you saying Bruno's attitude has made players leave the club ?? What makes you think Cunha and Bruno's attitude might clash?
12.) 26 Jul 2025 17:59:36
I said I have heard people say it was not a opinion.
{Ed077's Note - who has said that? Speculations are getting crazy wild these days

Liverpool have done good business this summer but they haven't necessarily addressed the weaknesses they have on Trent's side defensively. Wirtz looks a good player but Szbolslai was signed for a lot of money too and has been mixed. Ekitike is risky. Could be great but his stats also are very Darwin Nunez like, with significant xG underperformance.
They're deserved favourites going into next season but, supposing they don't sign Isak, I'm not convinced they're stronger (factoring in expected decline for Salah and VVD) . Isak would be a game changer though.
In any case Cunha and Mbeumo are excellent signings for us. We're not going to compete with them next season but we're getting the type of players last year and this that'll get us there.
14.) 27 Jul 2025 14:48:10
Lorenzo Matteo and Alessandro 3 that thought it was possible.

He’s off to Liverpool chaps.

I should explain. I am not a Manchester fan @Airforce. I have interest in football and watch out the top clubs in football. For the premier league that includes seeing how Manchester clubs progress, Chelsea, Liverpool, the top London teams.
It is just an opinion and I don’t think Manchester United have necessarily recruited bad now but I don’t also think they have in the past. My point is some of those past or expected to be past have been badly criticised more than the organisation that never got the best out of them. Then they go and the best out of them is found elsewhere.
I am not criticising the buys I am not I am criticising the prior usage and wait to see if these similar profiles get better managed.
08 Aug 2025 07:19:17
@BRD I would not call the front 3 “superb” buys with honest.
Two are premiership experienced decent players, the third remains to be seen how he works out in the best league but none of them are opinioned by me world class and kind of players a club of this stature and history would like to call upon. Some of those that have gone or look like going, that have had many criticisms on this site are similar profiles. Again opinion of me is they have been mismanaged to point of them being called out, then go on and raise their game again elsewhere. It is going to be a transition period for Man U and the important part is to get these decent, though not superb, players to play as a team.
