According to one of Alan Brazil sources. Pogba will never play for Manchester United again. Apparently Pogba went on french media to try and deny faking an injury.
Anyone heard this?

Draig goch

{Ed002's Note - I rather doubt he has "went oin French media" whatever that means and said such a thing. He wants to leave - I am sick of explaining that.}

1.) 27 Nov 2019 09:07:34
May as well sell up. Top 4 won’t happen, he wants out, move on. Long way back for Utd I fear.

2.) 27 Nov 2019 10:03:28
Eric- agree top 4 is far off but never impossible and also we as a team have a long rebuild pRoject, but re pogba: results without him are no worse than when he played the last 4 months of last season. As ed has repeatedly said he wants out, his agent will probably burst a blood vessel trying to engineer a move and if we get the right money, it could be reinvested into getting at least 2 positive replacement players. I see this as a positive with the prospect of matic moving on, smalling gettoing us a fee andyoung hopefully put out to grass in the summer.

3.) 27 Nov 2019 12:26:29
I checked the French media and there's nothing to suggest he spoke to anyone. Cadena Cope, a Spanish outlet, has claimed that several Man Utd players believe the injury is fake and that it is only to force a move to Real Madrid. Several French outlets picked up on the story, nothing more, the most prominent being goal. com.

4.) 27 Nov 2019 14:19:46
Pogba doesn't want to be here and if he wants to go to Real Madrid he will likely have to join in January. The big push for Pogba in Madrid is from Zidane, who himself is on dodgy ground and might not see out the season. If Zidane leaves before next summer then so does Pogba's best chance of joining Real Madrid.

So I can see him trying to force through a deal in January.

5.) 27 Nov 2019 14:50:38

You could actually argue that results are better without him, especially in the last 6 games. If we had sold in the summer and replaced with 2 good midfielders we would be in a much stronger position now that’s for sure. Hopefully that is what happens either in January or this summer and we can have a team of players who want to fight for the shirt.

6.) 27 Nov 2019 16:06:32
Let him go, let him go. I never liked him anyway. No swaps though.

7.) 27 Nov 2019 19:40:50
Agree with the above comments. No point keeping a player who wants to be elsewhere. He should have stayed in Italy at a very good Juve side in hindsight. Won’t be surprised if he goes back (if they have the cash or players to swap)

8.) 28 Nov 2019 15:41:11
GDS2 - looking at the last six games, i agree with you mate.

9.) 28 Nov 2019 19:42:43
Its tough to get the cash without them having makeweights.
To be honest if we got any midfielder from juve or madrid and cash they will be better than fred and andreas
Mctom needs some experience and quality around him so he can keep improving.

Edd 02
do Manchester United still have any interest in Herrera from Bilbao? Is there anyone else interested in him?

Draig goch

{Ed002's Note - I wouldn't think so.}

Ed02 why do you think the board of Manchester United have no ambision in terms of the footballing side. Einstein once said doing the same over and over and still expecting different reasults is lunacy. So I'm trying to understand the psychy of the decision makers. Football knowledge or not you would want success on all sides surely?
I mean a successful team brings more revenue surely as it attracts more attention in media and social media as well as investment? Or am I missing something?

Draig goch

{Ed002's Note - Clubs do not want to change managers unless they have to and changing mid-season means they may not be able to appoint their preferred options.}

1.) 06 Nov 2021 16:13:37
Einstein never said that though.

{Ed014's Note - I thought that too, I was sure he said, “What ever you do, don’t offer Ole another contract”.

I know it was awhile ago but sure that’s what he said ?‍♂️

2.) 06 Nov 2021 16:18:59
I think he said, ‘for the love of god don’t make him permanent, wait until the end of the season at least. ’

His famous formula is O = McFred Squared.

{Ed014's Note - ?

3.) 06 Nov 2021 16:31:06
It was Albert Einstein unless I'm mistaken.

4.) 06 Nov 2021 16:59:46
That was the other Einstein Ed014, Rio Ferdinand, 'Give him the contract, give him what he wants' for f***s sake, we are terrible!

{Ed014's Note - yeah I remember that, thought Ferdinand was nuts at the time.

It was a shocker today mate, never seen a team do so little, well aside from maybe Arsenal in the first 3 games of the season! ?

5.) 06 Nov 2021 17:00:57
You’re mistaken it’s one of the most famous misattributed quotes.

6.) 06 Nov 2021 17:11:23
Yes Einstein. in reference to Insanity.

22 Dec 2019 16:46:31
Most of us think ole is out of his depth. He would have made a good no 2 IMO. Phelan escapes critics every week why? Failed twice as manager. Director of football at Sydney FC says it all. Between ole and and phelan we have a succession of failures. No 2 don't often make good no 1. Brian kids a prime example.
Question is would potch bring succees? United need a no 8 a 10 and a st and a rw for me.

Draig goch

1.) 22 Dec 2019 16:54:42
Poch can't improve players that can't improve.

You can't take bang average players and turn them into world class players.

Most of them players are at their maxium level.

2.) 22 Dec 2019 17:32:25
Poch brought nothing to Spurs other than competitiveness at the top level. No trophies, not even a League Cup. Even if he were interested in the job, which I doubt, why would you think he's capable of producing the goods at United?

United have little choice but to stick with Ole who is not responsible for the squad or the ineptitude of the players he inherited.

Today's loss was not down to him. We had the better of very few chances, including to go ahead. Lingard's miss and de Gea's blunder cost us the game, not Ole or his tactics.

3.) 22 Dec 2019 18:39:40
It's not just this one loss today though is it, we struggle against teams that sit and defend.
The same problems that we encountered against Palace back in August have not been solved, can Ole figure out how to break down defensive teams before the summer or will he inevitably go the same way as Moyes, LVG and Mourinho.

4.) 22 Dec 2019 18:43:12
Talking sense there shawthing. Spot on! We are too inconsistent to finish in the top four in my opinion it's just not happening.

5.) 22 Dec 2019 21:11:37
Total rubbish Bolger, the same players who lost against Watford, beat Spurs and City quite convincingly. So that old saying we're not good enough, doesn't wash. It's just a big fat rubbish excuse, do wake up and smell the roses.

22 Dec 2019 14:57:41
Can someone tell me how Lingard gets so much game time 3 goals in all compz and 1 assist for a no 10 2428 minutes shocking. Never ever good enough for United nither is Pereira.

Draig goch

1.) 22 Dec 2019 15:51:04
Think there’s your answer, that’s the 2 options.

2.) 22 Dec 2019 15:54:37
We are crying out for a no.10 lingard wouldn't get on for Watford.

3.) 22 Dec 2019 15:57:28
Or Mata, who is slow until 50 minutes when he runs out of battery.

4.) 22 Dec 2019 16:02:05
Good point gds.
So why try to play a system when you don't have players to execute the system.
Use a different system that's what good coaches do.
They don't just do the same thing expecting different answers.

5.) 22 Dec 2019 17:13:11
Ken, it's what good coaches do. that's the key line there.

6.) 23 Dec 2019 12:48:39
It's not as if we have a young talented player (who "apparently" has a bad attitude) that plays in that position is it?

18 Jul 2019 18:31:35
Hi fellow posters rarely post but read every day. What do people think of Danny rose as competition for shaw. 29 years old. Maybe available for around 20mil.

Draig goch

1.) 18 Jul 2019 19:29:52
He's a better attacking outlet, but much poorer defensively in my opinion.

2.) 18 Jul 2019 20:09:48
Not now. 3 years ago yes but at 29 his best is behind him. i'd be delighted if shaw reaches roses level. Like shaw has had a ciuple of injury issues but had a great session season last year.

3.) 18 Jul 2019 21:31:53
Basically NO - for the reported cost we could put a bid in for Tierney who would be a much better purchase NOW and for the future.

4.) 18 Jul 2019 21:57:56
Tierney is better than Shaw who gets caught out of position far too often for my liking.

5.) 18 Jul 2019 22:30:35
Tierney looks a great player playing for a side that never has to defend in a league so poor my Grandma would be a half decent player.

He needs to move to the big leagues to see if he is as good as he is hyped up to be.

6.) 19 Jul 2019 05:07:00
Like Robertson Shappy?

Trust me, Tierney is every bit as good.

7.) 19 Jul 2019 05:36:29
Absolutely no.
Rose is yet another injury prone player.
We have Dalot who can cover both LB and RB spots if Shaw/ AWB is unavailable.

8.) 19 Jul 2019 07:08:52
Like others I would say no to Rose and I would say yes to Kieran Tierney. But it would only be a short time before Shaw is the one trying to put pressure on to regain a 1st team berth.

18 Jul 2019 12:21:48
Hi edd002 has United shown any interest in Danny rose?

Draig goch

{Ed002's Note - No.}

1.) 19 Jul 2019 09:19:20
And thank bugs bunny we didn’t show any interest!

Ed002 could you please explain why Manchester United would hand Mike phelan a 4 year contract extension?
If Ole was released from his role as manager would that mean phelan Carrick and mcenna would also be revealed of their roles or would other roles be offered within the club structure for them?

Draig goch

{Ed002's Note - It is unrelated to whatever happens with OGS. Phalanx has an extensive history of coaching at all levels within the club.}

Hope we don't get Sancho. No better than rashford. Goes missing in big games like pogba. German League easy in comparison to prem.

He dosent want United. Wouldn't give more than 60mil for him. Much better available for a fraction. Look at Rodriguez at Everton. Class.

15mil for me he should be 30 mil .if lukaku is worth 26 mil. Then Chicarito would be more. Same for kagawa. If Luiz is 40 mil then kagawa is worth at least 30mil. Wellbeck to even though I never rated him he is got to be 25 mil because he's english, still young and Carroll cost 35 after 1 season for newcastle

Rodgers cares more about hos teeth and tan than how the team perform. He's blown top 4 how many times. Just a slightly more experienced Ole imo. I think if they go for ten hagg they also need overmars and van Der sarr. They also need a world class coach no 2 with tactical noun.

Exept mguire wan bisaka and linderoff are nowhere near good enough. Linderoff looks afraid. Mgurire beloved in his own hype. United captain.
Always looks like he's pulling a cart behind him
Shaw again believe in his own hype.
Pogba needs to go . Lingard needs to go with vdb for their own good. Lingard 29 acts like he's 19.had half a decent season at whu. Vdb should be playing every week. Mctominlay hindered by tactics. Bruno should be playing much closer to the cm. But him and Ronaldo do not work well together.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, speaking after game
"It is not easy to say something apart from it is the darkest day I have had leading these players. We were not good enough individually and as a team, can't give a team like Liverpool those chances but unfortunately we did.

"The whole performance was not good enough. We created openings, they had chances and they have been clinical. The third goal decided the game. "

Whose responsibility? "It is mine, that is it. The coaching staff are very, very good, brilliant. I choose the way we approach the game, we were not clinical enough and gave too much spaces and when you give good players space they score.

"We are at home, playing against Liverpool, we have gone here over the last two and half years and had a similar approach to high press but today they scored on their chances I think as Manchester United we should always try to stamp our authority on the game.

"That fourth goal is when you go into half time with having to score one every 15 minutes. I know these boys are capable of it. The fourth, that was probably game over.

"You can look at last season we lose to Spurs 6-1 this is worse, miles worse. This is miles worse for me as a Manchester lad. I've just got to say we have to get over this as quickly as we can.

"I have come too far, we have come too far as a group. We are too close to give up now.

"It is going to be a difficult one. The players will be low but there's loads of characters there.

"We know we are rock bottom, we can't feel any worse than this. Let's see where we take it. "
