According to one of Alan Brazil sources. Pogba will never play for Manchester United again. Apparently Pogba went on french media to try and deny faking an injury.
Anyone heard this?

Draig goch

{Ed002's Note - I rather doubt he has "went oin French media" whatever that means and said such a thing. He wants to leave - I am sick of explaining that.}

1.) 27 Nov 2019 09:07:34
May as well sell up. Top 4 won’t happen, he wants out, move on. Long way back for Utd I fear.

2.) 27 Nov 2019 10:03:28
Eric- agree top 4 is far off but never impossible and also we as a team have a long rebuild pRoject, but re pogba: results without him are no worse than when he played the last 4 months of last season. As ed has repeatedly said he wants out, his agent will probably burst a blood vessel trying to engineer a move and if we get the right money, it could be reinvested into getting at least 2 positive replacement players. I see this as a positive with the prospect of matic moving on, smalling gettoing us a fee andyoung hopefully put out to grass in the summer.

3.) 27 Nov 2019 12:26:29
I checked the French media and there's nothing to suggest he spoke to anyone. Cadena Cope, a Spanish outlet, has claimed that several Man Utd players believe the injury is fake and that it is only to force a move to Real Madrid. Several French outlets picked up on the story, nothing more, the most prominent being goal. com.

4.) 27 Nov 2019 14:19:46
Pogba doesn't want to be here and if he wants to go to Real Madrid he will likely have to join in January. The big push for Pogba in Madrid is from Zidane, who himself is on dodgy ground and might not see out the season. If Zidane leaves before next summer then so does Pogba's best chance of joining Real Madrid.

So I can see him trying to force through a deal in January.

5.) 27 Nov 2019 14:50:38

You could actually argue that results are better without him, especially in the last 6 games. If we had sold in the summer and replaced with 2 good midfielders we would be in a much stronger position now that’s for sure. Hopefully that is what happens either in January or this summer and we can have a team of players who want to fight for the shirt.

6.) 27 Nov 2019 16:06:32
Let him go, let him go. I never liked him anyway. No swaps though.

7.) 27 Nov 2019 19:40:50
Agree with the above comments. No point keeping a player who wants to be elsewhere. He should have stayed in Italy at a very good Juve side in hindsight. Won’t be surprised if he goes back (if they have the cash or players to swap)

8.) 28 Nov 2019 15:41:11
GDS2 - looking at the last six games, i agree with you mate.

9.) 28 Nov 2019 19:42:43
Its tough to get the cash without them having makeweights.
To be honest if we got any midfielder from juve or madrid and cash they will be better than fred and andreas
Mctom needs some experience and quality around him so he can keep improving.

do Manchester United still have any interest in Herrera from Bilbao? Is there anyone else interested in him?

Hi fellow posters rarely post but read every day. What do people think of Danny rose as competition for shaw. 29 years old. Maybe available for around 20mil.

Draig goch

1.) 18 Jul 2019 19:29:52
He's a better attacking outlet, but much poorer defensively in my opinion.

2.) 18 Jul 2019 20:09:48
Not now. 3 years ago yes but at 29 his best is behind him. i'd be delighted if shaw reaches roses level. Like shaw has had a ciuple of injury issues but had a great session season last year.

3.) 18 Jul 2019 21:31:53
Basically NO - for the reported cost we could put a bid in for Tierney who would be a much better purchase NOW and for the future.

4.) 18 Jul 2019 21:57:56
Tierney is better than Shaw who gets caught out of position far too often for my liking.

5.) 18 Jul 2019 22:30:35
Tierney looks a great player playing for a side that never has to defend in a league so poor my Grandma would be a half decent player.

He needs to move to the big leagues to see if he is as good as he is hyped up to be.

6.) 19 Jul 2019 05:07:00
Like Robertson Shappy?

Trust me, Tierney is every bit as good.

7.) 19 Jul 2019 05:36:29
Absolutely no.
Rose is yet another injury prone player.
We have Dalot who can cover both LB and RB spots if Shaw/ AWB is unavailable.

8.) 19 Jul 2019 07:08:52
Like others I would say no to Rose and I would say yes to Kieran Tierney. But it would only be a short time before Shaw is the one trying to put pressure on to regain a 1st team berth.

18 Jul 2019 12:21:48
Hi edd002 has United shown any interest in Danny rose?

Draig goch

{Ed002's Note - No.}

1.) 19 Jul 2019 09:19:20
And thank bugs bunny we didn’t show any interest!

02 Sep 2014 19:37:00
Probably get slated for this but does anyone think we should look to offload Rooney next summer. I was not a wellbeck fan but preferred him to Rooney as he offered more in attack.
I never saw the world class in Rooney as labeled by most. For me he peaked well to early.
I would like to sign cavani think him and falcao would be brilliant together up front.
Disappointed to see Chicarito going as I do think moyes ruined his confidence last year. He will score a shied load for Madrid. And they can buy him for only 16m. To think lukaku had one good season on loan to Everton then got sold for 28m.

Draig goch

1.) No, I think he will play in the hole.

2.) Just read Paul Parker's article regarding Rooney. OUCH!

3.) Could see Rvp moving on next year due to age and injuries if Wilson manages to step up

4.) Matas Beard, there's a reason MU got rid of so many strikers this summer. It's so we can keep the best one's. Van Persie is our best striker.

5.) Rvp and falcao are both top players but they are both 9s both play on the shoulder and play in the same areas, make similar runs .
Neither imo are a second striker so i'm not sure there a partnership .
It would be like playing 2 andy cole's

6.) If we are playing our strongest 11 I don't see where Rooney fits in. So I think next summer is too far away if we want to maximise, he will lose value if he plays less and he is earning a packet when we don't have CL. So I would have shipped him out this window and kept Danny - probably nobody would have took on his wages and that's partly why LVG made him captain, just my view. If you have Rooney in your squad he may as well be a happy Rooney and maybe play better if he is captain, last chance to make him shine, (doesn't seem like it has worked so far)! Maybe Jan for a CL team that need reinforcing.

We missed a trick with the £16mil for Hernandez clause, if he gets regular games his value should sky rocket as my mum could score tons of goals poaching for Madrid.

Lukaku has much more potential than Hernandez to be fair. The pea is a one trick pony and not been too great at that recently, Lukaku could be a machine in a couple of years, but Everton have still overpaid by £8mil imo.

7.) I would like to see either Rooney or van persie sold and won't loose any sleep over it if both where sold, but they just never seem to play well together!
Its going to be very interesting to see how they both react to not being the top earner/striker in club or has money loyal Rooney got clause in his contract to keep him highest paid in club?
What do yee think of benteke as possible replacement if he recovers from his current injure?

8.) Falcao is our best striker

9.) I don't rate Benteke, very clumsy and I think he will be a trap (one season wonder). I can see Spurs going for him in Jan after he has come back from his injury.

10.) Beast
So lvg made rooney captain because of his wages.
Did roy make him england captain because of his wages.
Come on pal last season you argued united played poor because rooney played well.
And anyone would of scored as many goals as rooney for england and united if they had played the same amount of games .
Every one has an opinion but your verging on a troll .
Rooney is on a long term contract and club captain I think people at united may have a different view to you

11.) Rooney is a number 10 IMO so should play there. He likes to roam and he will be able to in this position. let's Falcao and RvP do what they do best and let Rooney do what he does best. That's what I think anyway. A midfield of Blind, Herrera & Di Maria backed up by an attack of Rooney, RvP & Falcao is exciting. Just need our defence to step up now.

12.) Falcao isn't ours. He's Monaco's. So Van Persie is our best striker :-)

13.) Syd
This season falcao is our best striker.
Falcao is a better 9 than rvp .
I read in the last 3 year falcao had 4 assists .
Im not sure that's true but he doesn't do assists he scores goals . He plays the 18 yard box, he plays on the shoulder he plays the 9 role.
Rvp best 2 seasons, 1 for arsenal 1 for united have come playing that role.
They can't both play that role imo if rvp plays with falcao he will have to change and play as a second striker.

Lvg said " when this calibre becomes available, it is an opportunity not to be missed "
And he is right . Rvp imo will play second fiddle to falcao he will have to play the second striker role .

14.) 03 Sep 2014 06:19:08
Syd ,
If Rooneys best position is no. 10 , why did Mourinho try to buy him to be no. 9 for Chelsea?

15.) Bilko, it would have been for one season until they got Costa. Then Rooney would have moved deeper behind Costa. Where does Rooney play for England? I expect to see RvP and Falcao playing upfront, with Rooney just behind them.

25 Aug 2014 21:53:53
Does anyone else think Rooney should be dropped
Vastly overrated in my opinion. Would love to see falcao or cavani at man utd . Romney is indisciplined to stay up front. He goes wondering like he's playing in the park with his mates. If he's a striker then he should be staying up front not dropping to right back or centre of defence to pick up the ball.
Valencia reminds me of heskey big lad but looks like a deer in the headlight when facing the fullback.
Ashley young runs a lot but can't cross piss poor passing, can't tackle. Wat does he actually offer.
Love kagawa and Hernandez but for both their sake they need regular football so should leave.
Cm cleverly is turning into a carrick with his passing sideways or back, fletcher looks lost the game is to quick for him. Would be a great player for someone like Celtic or rangers.
Smalling and jones are terrible. Smalling can't pass looks afraid every time he plays. Jones meant to be the next Duncan Edwards .lol his positioning is terrible runs around like a headless chicken, neither of them have composure

Draig goch

1.) I don't know where to start picking holes in your post so have decided not to bother other to say you are a eejit. You love players who are adding little, you are slagging off players who are contributing. I can only assume you have banged your head.

2.) With fans like you, we really are in trouble.

3.) Draig
You should win some kind of award for that post.

4.) Hopefully if Fletcher goes to Celtic or Rangers you do too! Get a grip. I take it you 'support' United?! Stop your poor pessimistic judgements and start getting behind your team FFS.

5.) 25 Aug 2014 22:22:00
Jones was our best player.

Smalling also played well till he went off injured. I don't get where this about his passing or bringing it out of defence.

Blackett and Keane also did well.

Cleverly seems to be the default player to blame. I thought he was better yesterday, not great but better. Not helped by the wide options or his partner.

Fletcher looks like a guy who's missed 4 years. Applause for the comeback but needs replacing. Vidal, de Jong, whoever.

Valencia and young what can be said. Sooner Shaw is fit the better.

Rooney, well most of his problems stem from the midfield, sort that and hopefully he keeps his position. We have bigger fish to fry than replacing strikers. Although maybe give Ed the shortlist now so by May he has made some progress.

Hernandez needs to go, offered nothing against Swansea whereas welbeck gave us some pace upfront yesterday.

6.) If our midfield were able to provide decent service he wouldn't need to drop deep. With any luck that will be solved over the coming week.

7.) This is a very unique post, not in a good way though.

8.) Yet another shocking post some folk run on perpetual misery I swear .

9.) 25 Aug 2014 23:11:11
Draig meet beast, you would have a wonderful life together.

10.) Wow Draig got bish bash boshed.
Peeps its only the lads opinion, we don't have to agree with him but give him a break. Some of you should do some soul searching, maybe you'll find one.

11.) Sorry Draig, too much wine

12.) This is my opinion .some of you don't agree. Don't agree. Rooney has offered nothing since being made captain. Pre season is irrelevant to now. I stick to my guns that these players that I have listed are not good enough .
With regards to Hernandez and kagawa they are very good players just not used in the right way as they don't suit our style of play. Our midfield and defence is by far the worse I have seen in a long time at United.
How many of our players would make the City Chelsea and arsenal, Liverpool 1st team? Even when on form?
For me only de gea mata Rooney RVP .
Jones and smalling would get in the burnley team.
By the way I do think van gal is a great manager and will turn things around but will take time. Have a lot more confidence than I did in moyes.

13.) I think if there was a league table for the most ridiculous post of the season, then this post will be top. And I can't see it being beaten!

14.) Draig, welcome to the dark side! haha.

Honestly though I think you have gone a bit extreme even for me here. Rooney should be dropped if we go to a 4-3-3, but with two up top he should play. The service has been awful, but he should be creating more for himself and others irrespective.

The midfield is shockingly bad, nobody will dispute that, but Valencia does have it in him, look at the goal on Sunday, he is just lacking confidence and quick service like our attackers.

Smalling & Jones haven't been given enough games yet. They should be far more advanced than they currently are but too soon to criticise them especially as Jones & Smalling have been two of our best players this season including the pre-season. With a solid experienced player with them, they could flourish.

But even the most hardcore optimist will admit this side is not resembling a United team we have seen for 20+ years, there is a lot of TLC to be done. My concern is that for every step forward we make, we seem to take two backwards. Hopefully that will change once LVG gets his signings bedded in, time will tell.

24 Aug 2014 17:28:18
Does anyone else think we need to bu a world class striker like falcao or cavani. Many will say cavani isn't great but for me he played well in he World Cup in terms of creativity.
Think he would suit prem league.? Chicarito would do well in a passing team like arsenal where he would come alive in the 18yard box

Draig goch

1.) There is nothing wrong with our strikers we just need to get the sodding ball to them

2.) Yes definitely. Rooney hasn't been on the pitch for the 3 games he has been captain as far as I'm concerned. Welbeck did more in 5 mins than RVP & Rooney did all game and yet he is the one being shipped out??

It's a waste having Mata play if we don't have any movement around him, our strikers are too slow and our midfield don't support -therefore Mata does nothing. It was the same last season. Having the spare man at the back is ridiculous when we create so little.

The 2 goals we have scored this season have both been tap ins, can't remember any real chance creation, yet the majority think we are good going forward!

3.) You could stick Pele upfront - but if Cleverley is the midfielder then he would be no better.

4.) Today there was no service to RvP and Rooney from the mid.

Valencia and Young are very bad crossers so there was no service from the wings too.

5.) Beast it wasn't a case of rooney going missing it is the supply young's crossing was woeful, valencia (who was ok today ) too often gets into a good crossing position then just plays a pass sideways fletcher today couldn't hit a cows ass with a banjo he was awful and cleverly is cleverly the pass is there everyone can see it but no sideways or backwards he just had nothing to feed off at all today add into that the slow pace we stutter up the pitch at its no surprise really

6.) I thought rooney played ok today .
rvp was poor but its his first game back .
The wings, cm and back 3 dear me .

7.) I find Valencia so frustrating he is big and strong and quick he should bully 90% of the full back in the league but he just seems scared to unleash himself unfortunately I feel he is one of those players that will just never be the same after a bad injury and now he deserves to be no more then a squad player

8.) Jred, it's no surprise to us that you thought Rooney played okay today :)

9.) The major problem is and has been for years the central midfield, however our strikers should also be creating their own chances at least now and again.

I'm totally aware that the service is shocking.

My point is Welbeck did more in 5 mins than the other two, it was similar last season. Obviously with quality service our strikers will perform much better, but we don't have that service, so Welbeck or a fast striker being signed is vital until we have a RWB, Shaw fit, Herrera back and another couple of world class players in the middle to add some penetration.

Even our stars are not playing well, irrelevant of the service they should be doing more when they have the ball. RVP not fit, but when is he ever 100% fit?

10.) How can anyone blame our strikers is beyond me? Lol and what did Welbz do?

11.) Merf were you watching a different game to the rest of us today. because to say Rooney did ok today is redicilous. He was awful his 1st touch is awful

12.) Honestly our back 3 where all over the place and for me look like they are still trying to get there heads round the system.
i actually thought tyler and jones played ok individually but as part of a 3 struggled.

midfield was what it looked on paper poor .
rvp was poor no surprise when he got subbed but its his first game in a while . ( not just competitive but any game )
I though rooney played ok dropped off worked hard and linked up ok but he was linking play to poor wing options poor cm and a non existent strike partner .

of course syd best and shaps will blame rooney buts what new.
the tactics and various other tjings where far worse

13.) The player I felt sorry for today wa kagawa how must he feel having to sit there and watch fletcher and cleverly play

14.) Jred, Van Persie was always only going to play an hour today. It's his first game back.

I am not blaming Rooney for anything, he needs better wingbacks and midfield behind him.

But it's no surprise that to YOU, Rooney played Okay. Van Persie actually done more.

Rooney and Van Persie (when fit) will be fine when they have better players around them.

15.) Red7
the player I felt sorry gor was di maris

16.) Lol

syd come on I argued rooney was still a good player and would stay at united . He has a long term contract and is captain .
you spent years arguing he was finished and would leave .
so I will go with my opinion over yours, I honestly didn't think he played that bad today.

you will be trying to argue cleverly is a top player next

17.) I believed Rooney was going to be sold by SAF and I still believe that would have been the case had SAF not retired.

I have always said Rooney was a top player (the archives will back that up), but that we have seen the best of him. I still believe that.

We have 100% seen the best of Rooney. Still a top player though.

18.) Sydney what did van persie do that was more? He was poor. I think another one who gets off a bit lightly is mata fair enough he scored but he slows the pace of the game too much and can't beat a man. I honestly would like to see kagawa instead of mata. For me he's part of the reason we have to play this formation to fit him into the side. as I keep saying he should never have been bought he wasn't needed, and in fairness hasn't set the world alight since he joined.
We need to add pace to this squad and go 4-3-3.

19.) Gman
rvp was poor imo but I can understand why, he hasn't played.
mata for me is an issue and I have explained why ( before we signed him )
I can see why jose sold him

20.) Gman, I noticed how he had a go at weaving his way through four Sunderland defenders instead of passing it back to the midfield. I also noticed his through-ball to Mata which Mata should have taken first time and if it wasn't fluffed by Mata would have been a nice assist. I noticed how he was giving the CB's a real tussle where it would be either one of them on the floor or him on his ass. I think he was far from poor, not great admittedly, but he done more than a fully fit Rooney did. If we add Rojo, Evans, Shaw, Herrera, hopefully Vidal & Di Maria then we will get the best out of Rooney and Van Persie.

21.) Syd
no he never, rvp was poor today its no surprise to anyone you are trying to make out he was great

22.) I don't think either Rooney or Van Persie were poor, I don't think either played well, but I think a less fit Van Persie did more in one hour than Rooney did in 90. That's all I'm saying. I think he edged it slightly. I don't see where Jred can say Van Persie was poor and Rooney was "okay". I think both were okay, but I was happier with Van Persie's performance considering it's his first game back.

What gets me mad is MU on tour played some nice football, not great, but decent football. Rooney was great, but as soon as we hit the EPL, we froze again.

23.) 24 Aug 2014 21:16:04
Ok Sydney we'll agree to disagree. I only saw his poor first touch when he should have had a go with his right in the box. Him lying on the floor half the time. Not willing too close down the opposition.

I hope they both do come good but I think there needs to be pace up there and that's something neither Rooney or rvp have or mata for that matter.

24.) 24 Aug 2014 22:06:55
One small thing I did notice about Wayne today.

He and Blackett were tracking back to cover the Sunderland right winger. Blackett pointed for Rooney to hang back and cover the supporting Sunderland player. Blackett made the challenge and the ball ricocheted back to the supporting Sunderland player, who received it unchallenged, and the attack could continue. Why? Because Wayne ignored Blackett's instructions, and carried on running to close down the winger.

That small moment sums up everything that annoys me most about Wayne on the pitch - his lack of tactical discipline, this schoolboy desire to do everything. Even a youngster like Blackett showed more intelligence in that moment.

15mil for me he should be 30 mil .if lukaku is worth 26 mil. Then Chicarito would be more. Same for kagawa. If Luiz is 40 mil then kagawa is worth at least 30mil. Wellbeck to even though I never rated him he is got to be 25 mil because he's english, still young and Carroll cost 35 after 1 season for newcastle

We all know ole is out of his depth but you would expect someone with phelan experience to not be so nieve. For me he should kop as much blame as ole. His track record in management is not Great either. Ole should have joined United as a no 2 to someone experienced. I think edd02 mentioned a few times blanc would be a good appointment. I agree with him but maybe he would be a good director of football with potch as manager?

Rashford is only 21 yet this is his 5th season in the United 1st team.
Will we still be talking about him as potential in 5 years time or will he be another lingard. 1 decent breakthrough season then downhill from there.

Everyone is blaming ole but no one mentioned phelan Carrick or McKenna.
Phelan has been sacked from every job he's had. He by all counts has a a very big saying on team selection coaching tactics etc. Carrick just like ole is very reserved show no passion on the touchline. Not sure about McKenna. Rumours of players not happy with his style of coaching. Ole does look well out of his depth. But he has to have at least 2 windows to get players in and out. He got rid of Fellini Lukaku, tried getting rid of rojo smalling Sanchez's gone on loan. Matic will go in January probably. Lingard young Fred and jones hopefully at the end of season.
