Hi Lads,

Does Anyone know if Rothwell will get a chance Pre-Season ?

from all the 21's I've watched I think he is up there, granted most of the time it's highlights but he looks like a good solid player.

Would be Perfect to let him join the 1st team squad and let him come on the tour and then send him to a championship team on loan.

Anyone any more info on him ?

I remember at the beginning of the season we were obviously looking to offload Fellaini.

Napoli were interested seemingly and all was going to plan until he damaged his foot.

I was gutted and thought, there goes the chance to off load someone else.

I'm not saying the guy is world class or anything but I was wrong about him and he 100% deserves to start and be around the squad and long may it continue, fair play to him for knuckling down and driving on when no one seemed to be backing him. He is the epitomy of what we need in the squad relentless hard work and we will get back on our perch :)

If Moyes Sells Kagawa, Buys Fellaini and then Arsenal
get Ozil united are the losers here big time.

If this happens Moyes is a grade A moron.

1.) DM was given the Manager position because he can play with very limited funds and still stay in top 5! If we don't bring players that can really improve our team, don' t get me wrong we are just not going to win anything again like 2 seasons ago!

2.) 100% It would be devastating! Absolute disaster! Kagawa cannot be sold at any cost! With an already poor midfield why would anyone wanna sell the best playmaker? Unreal!

3.) I think Kagawa is over rated. In the games I have seen him play he doesn't look big enough to cope with the demands of the Premier League. Sure he may be fit enough but he is easily bullied off the ball and that was against lesser sides than the so called top 4 club.

Maze, where this all stemmed from was you mentioning I didn't like Robertson because he didn't have a foreign name.

I then listed a lot of players who I feel are currently playing better / are better imo.

The conversation then seemed to switch to Home Grown vs Foreign, and I simply pointed to your point you made and made a very close comparison to what Ray Wilkins said on TV just this week.

You then said players are getting an easy time beccause they are foreign, which was nothing got to do with what we were talking about.

I can have a conversation / debate over players and ability, we can disagree, but stop making out people are saying things they don't or didn't say to suit your argument it's petty.

Again this was about Robertson, a 23/ 24 year old from Hull who should not be a target for a team wanting to get back to being one of the best teams in Europe, there are a lot of left backs playing in Europe who would be a damn site better than him. That is a fact.

Agree with pretty much everything there, I think the pace of the league didn't suit Angel or Falcao.

I was a huge Rooney fan, I thought he could do it all at one point, he has gone down hill rapid over the last few years, a lot of the criticism he receives is over the top, but I think we should have gotten rid of him three years ago personally, when we could of received a decent chunk of cash.

But that's hindsight.

PLayer bashing is one thing and fans having a moan is another, but some players fans just don't like.

Again, I will reitterate, I don't prefer any one nationality over another (Although I would like to see an Irishman back at the club :-) )

People have favourites and people will moan about players, honestly it's a fans perogative to have a moan, we all pay money to watch and support, we are all entitled to opinions.

I can also distinctly remember Falcao not getting a free ride here, ok he would of gotten away lightly but still had his haters.

Di Maria played for one season, couldn't settle / wouldn't settle.

Personally I have no concern of where a player was born and raised. What I care about is ability.

Personally I would of sold Rooney when he tried to force through a move the first time.

But the manager (s) all know better than me, hence why my career ended at the ripe age of 24 :)

I agree Beast, Mid Table player, not saying we should sign any of the players I listed, just saying I feel the players I listed are better than Robertson, including Ben Davies. So it's not let's sign the best Foreign player, it's let's sign the best player we can for a position.

Just feel the comment from Maze sounded a lot like Wilkinson the other day when he was moaning about United signing Lindelof instead of Keane.

It's not a foriegn vs English or Home Grown.

It's about ability.

@Hendonred

I'd have Buffon before Van Der Sar, I'd have Buffon before Schmeichel, I'd just as much had Pirlo or Zidane as Scholes (Although I love him, Like proper man crush haha) I'd equally have other players ahead of the rest of the players you mentioned, they were your favourite players in them positions but there were equally as good players out there.

I am not saying they weren't up there as they clearly where, give this squad 1 maybe two more years and you will be able to put at least 4-5 players up there with the best in the world, I guarantee it.

And yes again I agree they have a bit to go, but both of those squads were built over years by the same manager and ceo / director.

We now have had 3/ 4 managers in 4/ 5 years. Jose will leave us in an absolutely remarkably better place then when he came.

But basing this squad on years gone past for me is like comparing apples to oranges. The game has moved on so much from even 08.

@Hendonred

In both of those years you mentioned we had awesome teams, yes.
But name me players in those who were better than any other in the world in their positions?

It's not about building a team of World 11's its about building a cohesive squad who will battle for each other, no in-fighting. Who work hard and look out for each other, were those squads better? Yeah, probably, but that desn't diminish the work Jose and Ed Woodward have done to turn around our first team squad over the last few years.

We do have a very strong squad, we will be hard to beat and we will play exciting football.

Will we put Barcelona? Real to the sword? No, Probably not, but what they will do is put the foundations there to build on.

Be positive not negative, times have moved on drastically from the 90's. Oasis split up too btw :-)

Trying to talk to the Wall Supasub, some people will never be happy.

GDS I actually watched the final with a Liverpool fan and he asked what I'd prefer to have, our season or theirs and I was baffled by his answer, he would rather qualify on merit according to him, yet we won three trophies and have qualified outright where as they need to qualify still.

Qualifying for a tournament because you finished fourth, winning no trophies or winning three trophies and finishing 6th, I'd rather have three days out and finish 6th than finish fourth aanytime.

POTY - De Gea
YPOTY - Martial
MI - Smalling

Reasoning : De Gea for me is probably in the Top Three GK in the world right now.

Martial has been very very good and deserves all the praise he gets.

I was really worried about Smalling this year and could of quite easily pick Daley here also as he compliments Smalling very well as he is very good on the ball.

But I have watched or seen Live nearly all of our games this year and Smalling has been excellent for the most part. At the beginning of the season he was in beast mode. And not always the right indicator but he has played most of the year and we have the second best defensive record in the league.
