ed, if you don't mind me asking,
it's been said in many reports that ed woodward is going back home from austrailia becuause of some urgent transfer issue. Is there any truth in it? if so, who can it be?
Thanks in advance {Ed001's Note - United have confirmed it is for transfer business, so I would assume it is correct. I literally have no idea who, I can't even think of anyone whose seemed on the verge of doing a deal with someone else that you might want.}

HV

1.) I reckon it is for Garay.

2.) I hope its not garay or any sort of defender such bains. i'm hoping ronaldo, bale or fabregas a guy can wish. lol

3.) I reckon it could be bains as everton are buying a replacement leftback

4.) If its garay or baines I will be fuming!

mickey.

5.) Journalists seem to think its for Bale but something doesn't seem right about that

IF it was Bale offers don't need to be done in person and levy wouldn't agree this quick IF we have offered 60m

6.) Various sources claiming Utd have made a £60m bid for Bale this morning!

7.) God I hope its not Garay.

8.) Baines or Garay doesn't strike me as a deal you need to rush back for though surely

9.) Could it be anything to do with rooney and his transfer? personally I hope not

10.) Thanks ed! :)

11.) If Rooney goes to Chelsea, they will be very strong indeed. In which case, I think there is only one player we can sign that will stop us handing them the trophy and that is Ronaldo.

Unfortunately, I don't think that it is going to be Ronaldo signing on this occasion. My gut feeling says Fabregas (which I would be very happy about)

Garay or Baines, would be pretty disappointing and I think shows a bit of a lack of ambition on Moyes' part.

Finally a win.
I thought our performance the past month should have gain more points than the draws we had. got to be more clinical upfront though.
Micki was great. At the moment, he's our spark. Hope he comes back from injury asap.
Anyways. Just wanted to ask, anyone or eds, will fosu-mensah be considered going out on loan? I think jose considers him more a midfielder (where he plays for reserves) than a right back or centerback at the moment.
But at the moment, we have so many midfielders, that i don't think he will get much game time.
This kids got potential and hopefully a loan will give him 1st team experience.
What do you guys think?

HV

{Ed001's Note - I expect him to go out on loan, there is a fair bit of interest from the continent.}

1.) 12 Dec 2016 06:16:27
I dpn't think loans are the answer. I am not a fan of them at all.

I watched an interview with a Klopp a few years back when he was at BVB and he hammered the idea of loans as pointless and a waste of developing true potential which I agree with.

For me if the kid is good enough, keep him in the first team. Allow him to be coached by the best in the business and if he is really that good he will break into the team eventually.

2.) 12 Dec 2016 07:41:53
6 month loan in jan is the only loan time i'd consider giving fosu-mensah. Over the next 2/ 3 season he should become a regular in this side especially with carrick in the twilight of his career.

It will be a good test of jose if he can nurture and polish fosu-mensah into a good midfileder or if he will just dip into the market and buy a ready made player instead which has been one of the criticisms of him in the past.

3.) 12 Dec 2016 10:32:22
Fosu-Mensah is an interesting one. He does many things well with the potential to become world class, but he needs to work out which aspect he should be focusing on developing. In some respects he reminds me of a young Phil Jones, and unless he focuses on one position and honing his skill set to suit he runs the risk of becoming a jack of all trades type player.

Personally I think he should he a midfielder, it gives him the chance to make the biggest impact and makes the most of his varied skill set. For me he has too much energy to sit as a CB, yet his passing and forward play probably isn't quite good enough for him to play RB long term. Although that would improve with more exposure in that position.

Alot of people see him as a sitting DM, shielding the back four. He could become very good in that role, but imo lacks the consistency and passjng range required to play that role for a top team. Also giving him a sitting role infront of the defence will limit his ability to use his energy and running power. I think his best role would he as a dynamic box to box player who is more defensive than offensive. Effectively a more defensive version of Pogba.

Similar to how Gattuso used to play or Essien or Kante. Someone who has the freedom of the pitch to fill in holes and stuff out danger. But someone with enough ability to play the ball after they've won it.

4.) 12 Dec 2016 12:01:30
Shappy, so as a back up to Herrera?

5.) 12 Dec 2016 13:45:18
Pretty much mbd.

6.) 12 Dec 2016 15:29:00
I agree, cheers.

7.) 13 Dec 2016 03:32:30
Totally agree with u with how he might turn out to be shappy.

I would be veryexcited about zlatan if he signs. Free transfer, proven goalscorer. Jus lacks pace. i think some people are jus worried because of the falcao transfer. But, falcao was coming back from an injury and jus hasn't been the same.
I think ibra can teach the kids one or two things. Mind u, rashford only jus finished his alevels. To me, we need two strikers. Martial likes the ball on his feet, and is a winger to me. Wazza can safely say he's a 10 or 8. Jose likes target forwards. Big guys that can hold the ball upfront. Didier, diego, milito, ibra.
I would love to have lukaku on the side too, but seems like he's going to chelsea.
What do you guys think? Who would you guys choose.

HV

1.) 27 May 2016 10:22:28
Lukaku is the best option available easily.

2.) 27 May 2016 10:26:33
Falcao physically is such a different striker and got pushed off the ball too easily and was never a target man, I guess post injury a very poor mans Aguero.

I think he will be a great short term solution for us and have no issues adapting to the pl.

I am undecided on Lukaku as he can be very good or quite poor but also more importantly he does not work hard enough on the defensive side. I also think he is grossly overpriced if Everton want 60 million pounds for him.

Icardi is an interesting player and if we are going to go for someone long term i would like to see him come in, good age too.

3.) 27 May 2016 10:29:13
Lukaku's touch is appalling which puts me off. Ibra is a dream signing and the right player at the right time.

4.) 27 May 2016 10:52:36
Am I the only one who doesn't rate Lukaku his touch is awful and he's such a clumsy striker.

Not one for me anyway.

5.) 27 May 2016 11:06:52
I'd take a 35 year old Zlatan's movement, over that lumbering hulk any day of the week.

6.) 27 May 2016 11:16:57
Guess I'm not the only one then haha yeah I agree with zlatan pace won't be an issue if he has pacey players around him.

7.) 27 May 2016 12:21:44
I don't rate him either Dave.

8.) 27 May 2016 13:35:49
Dave your are not alone😊.

9.) 27 May 2016 18:21:57
Lukaku is a no for me. Poor man's Heskey.

ed, do you think rooney will sign an extension contract? also, I would also like to ask, his contract expires next year right? I kinda forgot what year he signed till last time.
thanks in advance! {Ed007's Note - His contract expires summer 2015. I fully expect Rooney to sign a new contract.}

HV

1.) Ed007

Is that some inside information or just a personal opinion? {Ed007's Note - That's just my opinion GCU.}

long time reader, seldom poster, but i got to agree on some points with beasty over here. jose talks a lot of sense, but i don't understand why some of the worst players are playing the next game. eg, smalling shouldve been benched a lonnng time ago with his silly mistakes and how uncalm he can be.
but i got to agree with kenny boy over here too. shaw hasn't played consequtive games to prove he's a great attackin full back, bcus to me, i think an attacking fullback should be consistent, and be able to track back 90+ mins, whereas shaw looks tired at the end of every match.

but overall, in terms of your views, both make good points, but i guess we are different people and will have different ways to support the club. some look for hope of postivety on the next match believing what the players and manager can doand some are looking into the past looking at players/ manager couldve done better. but at the end of the day, we still love and support the club.

so can we please jus hold each others hand and say. ”i love you”.
lol,

jk aside, lookin forward to our fa final guys!

Good squad player imo. Bred red, but so was welbeck.
The only way i would sell him is if we going to buy big in summer. We still have andreas prerira coming back too. he's bred red but we shouldn't make this too big a factor. Kid got eye for goal. A no10 in my eyes. Not quick enough for the wings. i'm a huge andreas fan, and believe he has great potential. Jus don't know how much game time him and lingard can get if they both stay.

Totally agree with you fresh. Vardy is going to flop at arsenal. Vardy plays the counter attack style imo. don't think hell do well in england either. didn't understand why drinkwater did not get selected. Vardy needs him to play his potential i think.

I agree ed. His hunger to play is very inconsistent. One week he could be very passionate about it, and one day he jus doesn't seem to care as much. However, since being benched by jose, the time he is on the starting 11 is when his mind into it. So i think it was spot on by mourinho. I can see the kids climbing over these barriers. I hope at least, because both of them have so much talent.

I got a question though ed. Rash hasn't been starting that much as of late i think. Is it because he's still young and wants him to ease into the 1st 11 or tactical reasons, or is it jus me that thinks he deserves more chances.

HV

{Ed001's Note - age. Jose is being careful with him. Not a bad thing really. It always used to be like this in the past, with a player only making sparing appearances to keep them hungry. Nowadays the clamour from the media makes it difficult and the players themselves tend to be too impatient and expect too much. Hopefully this lad has his head screwed on and will use it as a learning experience.}
