Just moving away from the shameful shambles of the past week or so, it's Leeds today, a classic encounter over the years, from the 70's when Don Revie and his team of bully boys would invariably give us a pasting through to the 90's and Cantona and then the noughties, and the pleasure of seeing them implode and relegated! Still, conversely, it's great having them back in the top flight. I'll always remember Radebe going between the posts. What a player he was.
I'll spare a thought for Gordon Mcqueen and his family today. I find it tragic that playing the game you love can have such a negative impact. There's more to life than money and I hope that's recognised and reflected in the game today. All the best.

Anders won't be returning to United's treatment room. Always thought he had more to offer and used to roll around dramatically.
As for Tolisso, seems to be permanently injured. Is he actually any good?

I like Cavani, he'll provide different options for the squad across the front. Rashford and Greenwood can all play on the right. Why not for a season or two. Sancho is an excellent player but I'd much prefer to see a decent centre back brought in with some of the money that would of been spent on him.

Separate issue here, but does anybody think Wan Bissaka could possibly play in the centre back position? I'm not saying he should or shouldn't, I'm just wondering what other, more knowledgeable posters think.

Have a great weekend everyone, fingers crossed for three points today.

Would of loved to have seen the Mighty Magyars play: Puskas, Kocsis, Hildegkuti etc. Puskas record is phenomenal.
It's a shame we're talking about greatest headers of ball when so many footballers and their families are now suffering with some form of dementia.

When I was kid, it was part of the game I loved. Who didn't love trying to score a diving header at the local park with a knock off 1974 World Cup football.
Always remember Mcqueen putting so much power into them, Jeff Astle is another who stands out, Andy Gray too.

Dodgy, we should definitely try playing three at the back, keep Obi Wan in and let Shaw zip up and down the left. We could then switch play between a 3-5-1-1 or a 3-2-5.
Varane gives us that strength and confidence at the back and I think it will play to Ronaldo's strengths.
We were poor yesterday, 0-0 would of been fortuitous. Fred shouldn't be anywhere near that team. He has the first touch of Fred Dibnah swinging a lump hammer.
Kind of looking forward to seeing Ronaldo telling Ole how to set the team up and who to sub.

I can see United trying the 4-3-3 formation, and then varying between a 3-5-1-1 and a 3-2-5 during game time. I think having Varane at the back will allow Shaw to zip up and down the left, Fernandes in his number 10 role, Ronaldo up top. I'd like to see Pogba, van de Beek and Mctominay in midfield, Sancho on the right, Rashford on the left. Basically how Mancini sets up Italy.
Having Varane, hopefully, should allow United to try the system and play 8-10 metres further up the pitch.

Ronaldo is a United legend, one of the greatest players ever but his signing does strike me as slightly peculiar, we're heavy up front and I feel other areas needed addressing. Still, brings an amazing mentality and desire to win, which we have definitely lacked in some games.
Champions League final this season anyone?
