You've got them all biting here mighty lol.
Talking to a couple of City fans and they are delighted United have now taken their " last big pay day" signings tag.

Falcao is avaliable apparently. 😂.

Deano, If you hadn't noticed, I was having a conversation with Ed25 and Leahy asked a question.

Good question Leahy.

Not sure how old you are mate but Everton back in the mid 80's under the great Howrd Kendal were a brilliant side, with the likes of Southall ( what a keeper ) Ratliff, Sheedy, Peter Reid, Sharpy and of course Gary Linekar, the list goes on. We were the top two teams in the league. Back then the rivalry was different with Everton, a lot friendlier to say the least. Where as with United, the rivalry has always been pretty fierce.

So in answer to your question, the fixture I've always looked out for first is United away, purely as I loved the buzz of following the team away. Don't get me wrong, I sit on the Kop which is great and stood back in the 80's but for me, the hostility of away matches is the one.

There are lots of reds that I sit with that feel the Derby is the the main fixture.

I've always wondered where Manchester United would be today, had the the first floatation not taken place back in 91 and where Sky tv and football broadcasting would be had Stephen Byers, the Trade and Industry Secretary, not halted the pounds 623m takeover bid from Rupert Murdoch back in 1999. Basically the Monopolies and Mergers Commission (MMC) ruled it anti-competitive, saying it would have an adverse effect on the wider football industry, would have been an interesting scenario had it gone through.

Any way, United first for me, always has always will mate.

I've been watching Liverpool ( at the games) home and away since the mid 80''s mate, not so many away games now have a 2.5 year old boy ( terrible two's are real, believe me ) and unfortunately the tension/ hatred has always been there, at least the fighting inside and outside the grounds is pretty much non existent now!

It's not just United but the LFC/ EFC fixture has become pretty toxic these days which is a real shame. I remember going to the 86 cup final against Everton, at one point the whole of Wembley stadium sang "Merseyside "!

I agree with you regarding meeting up for a few pints, I think most of us from all banter pages would get on! Maybe it could be arranged? Now that sounds like a plan Ed25.

Sorry I have to disagree with you again Ed25 regarding the meek and mild warm hearted folk comment, I had the pleasure of sitting in the upper main stand on Monday night and I came away looking up words in the Collins dictionary that I really couldn't repeat on this site - haha

😉😉.

NickyD

{Ed025's Note - thats why it was followed with a smilie nicky, im not oblivious to the fact that we have our fair share of toxics mate which was very evident at the derby, i have to tell you i was ashamed to be a blue that night..

I get that Ed25 but I've not seen such concerns posted by any Eds when United fans have visited our banter page "giving it" or crossed the line. If the posts are considered that offensive then surly they should be filtered out and not posted? This is not a dog at you ed 25, just putting things into perspective mate. From my side

I have lots of friends that support United, Everton etc. Ed25 and If you think Waro is bad, you'd have heart failure if you read my Facebook page once all the footie results are in. And that goes for all of us! Lol.

NickyD

{Ed025's Note - i dont get the hatred nicky, differences of opinion yes but i edit both sites an there are a lot of good people on both teams pages and i bet if they met for a pint they would get on famously, then football gets in the way and they turn into neolithic morons who want to rip each others throats out, im lucky i guess supporting everton who are very meek and mild warm hearted folk mate.. :)
