Saw somewhere down the page about how Pogba compares to TFM, and saw someone say that Pogba used to dominate our U21 games. I am sorry but it was Ravel who used to absolutely boss games during that time. True, things did not work out for the lad but for sheer talent he was the "one" after Giggsy for me. Definitely Pogba has gone on to be a very good player, but it will be sheer revisionism ignoring Morrison's brilliance. Even Petrucci was doing as good as Pogba at that time. Don't get me wrong, I will be glad to have Paul in our ranks, but his performances for the U21 are sometimes exxagerated. I still think if Ravel applies himself, he can be a gem. That's just me though, I know a lot of regulars in here don't like him

There is no doubt that Ravel was a real gem in our youth set up. But to suggest that Pogba did not equally stand out is sheer ignorance.

2.) 26 Jul 2016 14:13:10
Pogba in no way equally stood out. There was a group of midfielders namely petrucci, tunnicliffe and pogba and Morrison who were all very good players in that team. Ravel was by far the stand out player, he was amazing, poor lad just did not have the head for it. Shame cause if pogba is now worth 100mill, imagine what ravel would be worth.
Don't get me wrong pogba was a very very good player and he was a standout in a couple of games but ravel week in week out.

So apparently Perez sacked Ancelotti because he had subbed Bale! I know this might not be completely factual, but if it is true that club is a joke.

Happy for Clevs! Playing well for Villa and more importantly enjoying his stint there. The kind of stick he got from our fans was brutal, being home grown and all that. I hope he has a solid career ahead and does well for himself.Talks a lot about the mob mentality that exists amongst fans and how it can completely take away your confidence. Before someone jumps on my throat, yes he wasn't good enough, but people who have watched him grow up the ranks from our youth team will understand where I am coming from.

Yep I'm very happy.

That he moved on, sorry deeps. :-)

I think a lot of the hate towards Cleverly arose because so much was expected of him with the praise Sir Alex et al gave him when he was a youngster. He had these high expectations thrust upon him and was always chasing them. Injuries and confidence issues always haunted him and although he certainly won't be remembered fondly by us fans we should all wish him the best in the future because he gave his all every match, unfortunately it wasn't good enough for United.

{Ed025's Note - i agree nat..

3.) 11 May 2015 21:22:13
In fairness it has a lot to do with the lad's arrogance. Like working on his brand after a few first team appearances, and his comments about him being considered top class if he was playing in Spain were just embarrassing. I'm happy that he's started to kick on at Villa, but the lad bought into his own hype and the couldn't live up to it.

I have watched him loads and he is the same player who was here, so so average and still does the 5 yard sideway thing. 3 goals don't make a difference. The only good thing is we might get some decent money for him.

I agree with Danny on this one. For me , the whole "TC23" thing was a joke after accomplishing nothing , and so early in his career.
Should have concentrated on trying to fulfill his potential instead of believing his own hype.

Having said that , I do hope he has a successful career elsewhere. Not good enough for United though.

U know I'm only joking buddy.

Must be nice to edit a page that talks about football rather than a page that rolls out awful gags. :)

{Ed025's Note - i like both chris...comedy and footy....i laughed so much when gerrard slipped against against chelsea last season.. :)

One of my all time favourite player - Juan Roman Riquelme retires today. What a player at his peak? Mesmerizing and could toy with players. His weight of pass and precision were unmatched. Take a bow!

1.) Riquelme was one of the few players I have ever seen who could single-handedly dictate the tempo of a match. He was a pleasure to watch.

Jred/ Syd - I honestly think it would be Mkhitaryan who would tear this league a new one. We got him for a snip. The amount in question for Pogba is ridiculous, if we were to sign him, I still think Micky would be our star man this season.

I see not much has changed here. Same folks dishing it out to Wayne like he punched their mothers. Can we stop being bitter about our Captain and future all time record goal scorer? I mean which other club's fans keep pillorying their captain day in and day out? It's almost like its personal for some out here. He is not the player he was, but talk about exxagerating things. And of course sticking up for your captain means you are some minister for the Rooney defence league. What does it make you sound like when you can't stop talking bull about your club captain?

Yeah damn right he signed an extra year for us and claimed he feels like a slave. He is a great player, does not make him a legend. I don't like or dislike him, indifferent about it. But talking about what he won here won't take away the fact that he jumped ship and behaved not so gracefully in the interim. He is a winner yes, but does not care about anyone else but himself.

United legend? No way, he has always been like this. A great player in terms of efficiency but not at all likeable. A complete diva!

Greetings Tony! How have you been old friend? I get what you are saying, however as it has been said time and again, ask our rivals what do they think about Fergie? The answers won't be much different. Mou will bring in te fear factor and that sheer wining mentality. How many serial winners do we have in the team? I am not sure how does it look long term, but I know there isent a better man manager. The siege mentality he creates is second to none. I just want teams to be scared of us, it looks so unfamiliar looking at the likes of Norwich enjoying theme selves at OT. Anyway, he is the bitter pill we need and their is no 2 ways about it.

How are you Jred my friend?
