1st time poster long time reader, lassana Diarra is apparently a free agent at the minute does anyone think this could be a good stop gap to help out in midfield until January reinforcements can b brought in?

SG1

1.) He's never been my fav player. If that's the way to go then song would have been a better option. But then again, LvG's genius is beyond me. The Free bit is appealing :)

Ht, enjoyable 1st half apart from the score. Nothing between the teams except level of gk. Created some good chances just lacked a no.9 in the box at times hopefully see sesko at some point, maybe get on the end of a couple of chances. Can see room for improvement but much more positive after that 1st half.

As a Liverpool fan, I couldn't care less who won but it was nice to watch a game with no emotion tied to it.

Cuhna and Mbuemo looked lively and will definitely get you off your seats more often then not. I still think your midfield needs a little work but Arsenal didn't really test you. I actually thought they were quite poor. Yes their defence is good but they just get bodies back.

At the very least you deserved a point but you'll be in the Mix with the Spurs/ Newcastle's/ Villas of the world for that 5th spot. Wouldn't be surprised if Chelsea get dragged into that fight too.

2.) 17 Aug 2025 21:13:00
The golalie made a mistake,
But we definitely looked at par and maybe even better.

3.) 17 Aug 2025 23:33:51
How bad is Ugarte! And clearly RA don’t rate Mainoo either and Cass still by far our best midfielder apart from Bruno
Deligt just not suited to this team, can’t bring the ball out
Still need a GK
SJR best get cheque book out, we badly need CB, midfielder, and cross fingers Clown is better this year if we can’t buy a keeper…
Gyokores is poor as I thought!

4.) 18 Aug 2025 00:30:15
Gyokeres needs time. He played in a poor Arsenal team yday. The fact we couldn't get a goal against them doesn't exactly fill me with confidence but I do understand it's about taking small steps of improvement.

Anybody suggesting De Gea is the answer to our keeper troubles is not being sensible he is no better at commanding his area than any of our current keepers and is definitely past his peak. We need to invest in a top keeper because without one no team can be successful long term.

What today showed us is that we need Sesko to score the important goals that have eluded us for too many years and that we also need a central midfielder who is box to. I but can also pick a pass.

5.) 18 Aug 2025 09:26:55
De Ligt was immense. I'm sure you write this crap before the game and paste it in.

The game last night summed up our whole season. Concede a soft goal and have nothing upfront to score a goal. Major surgery needed over the summer.

What a surprise, out fought and out worked. Dalot again useless, maguire exposed again for 2nd goal.

SG1

1.) 24 Feb 2025 09:02:42
For their second goal the entire defence was exposed by a wild slash at the ball by Bruno that turned into a very effective 'cross' into our box.

Absolutely no attacking threat down the left. Needed another attacker. Dorgu to lwb amad to rwb and garnacho as a 10.

SG1

1.) 08 Feb 2025 09:18:15
I still can’t get my head around the midfield. It’s not right. You don’t win games unless you control the narrative of the game from midfield. Something we’ve not been able to do for years, and with just two in the middle now, none of whom are box to box machines or effective passers, we are even less effective.

2.) 08 Feb 2025 10:14:45
Agreed 100% Eric. I don't know however if we've anyone in the squad capable of performing the role. Perhaps Collyer can grow into it. At least he can do the box to box part.

3.) 08 Feb 2025 12:43:36
I think Bruno is adapting. He could be very effective orchestrating things from deeper, but he needs others to create space for him to pick out passes to the attackers.

4.) 08 Feb 2025 14:02:23
Bruno can’t be in the middle as both CMs need to be completely disciplined. He needs to be a 10, or nowhere IMO.

5.) 08 Feb 2025 14:41:20
Collyer and ugarte, dorgu left, amad right. If bruno must play, he has to be a 10. Play anyone you like as other 10, we don't really have a stand out.

Garnacho is a game changer, makes things happen. Problem is that he wants to play winger wide left, so not sure how that fits into amorims system. If mount was ever fit again, mount and bruno at 10 is probably our best. Right now, mainoo or even Eriksen there with bruno. But there is a sever lack of pace that hopefully amad and dorgue can make up for out wide.

Dalot is very poor in this system, just becomes a back 5 and he loses the ball far too much.

Praying for a miracle in the uefa, can't see it, but you never know.

6.) 08 Feb 2025 17:20:44
Dalot loses the ball so does Mazaroui, both look very poor, but I would think plan is Dalot at RB, where he is better and new kid LB.

7.) 09 Feb 2025 20:27:06
Agree with your lineup Dodgy. The alternative I guess would be to have Dorgu LWB and Dalot RWB with Amad and Bruno in the no. 10s. Dalot is better on the right but really needs to cut out the errors. We'd have more pace centrally at least this way.

Regardless of the result, the 1st half has shown some really promising signs. Really like the intensity in the tackle and been decent on the ball.

Should have won. Better team. Not a pen for me (we don't get them as it's too close) . Also Nunez a lucky boy, nasty shoulder to De Ligt's head, knew exactly what he was doing.

2.) 05 Jan 2025 18:46:19
I couldn't believe var didn't get involved, he clearly looks at de ligt and deliberately smashes his shoulder into his face.

3.) 05 Jan 2025 19:06:22
Exactly Wiggy. In rugby that's a straight red. I don't understand it. Anyway I still don't understand why Dalot got 2 yellows last season at Enfield for 1 show of dissent.
They seem to have a crackdown at anfield for opposition teams then different rules elsewhere.

4.) 05 Jan 2025 19:14:51
Var oliver = utd get shafted. 2 absolute awful decisions. I'm sorry it's always against utd. other way round it's red and never given ever against Liverpool that handball. But. I'd taken 2-2 and that fight before game. something to actually feel good about, not had that in yonks.

5.) 05 Jan 2025 19:21:11
Nunez did exact same thing to Evans previously. He jumps in with his shoulder. They need to clamp down on those challenges to the head.

6.) 05 Jan 2025 19:39:59
Supasub it was a pen all day long.

7.) 05 Jan 2025 20:02:42
It was given as a pen yes madman. Why do you think oliver didn't give it? Maybe thought it was too close? It rules out others.

8.) 05 Jan 2025 21:39:38
Thing is if all decisions went same way fair does. but they aren't. if that's a penalty then how was Newcastles goal not disallowed?

9.) 06 Jan 2025 00:02:15
First off delighted the players actually seemed a team and fought win every challenge. Second that even though they went behind they still had the courage and desire to equalise. Third nice to see Martinez acknowledge what we have all known for a long time and that is that without desire and effort the team cannot prosper.

I cannot agree with those who say De Ligts handball wS not a penalty. His arm was well away from his side. It interfered with the trajectory of the ball and we would have been screaming for a penalty had a a Liverpool player done the same. Nor deliberate but a nailed on if unfortunate pen to concede.
I would not get carried away too. Much by the performance today though. Liverpool were well below par and yet still scored two and could have had another two quite easily. Also BBC pundits were raving about Dalot but he was facing. Trent Alexander Arnold Who defensively is not the best. Being a right footed player on the left flank means a right footed winger will always be a problem to Dalot who will not be in the best position to. Intercept or tackle without risking a penalty or dangerous free kick. Lastly the need for a top striker was shown again.

All that said it was a pleasure to see the team having a real go. Let's hope they continue in the same vein.

10.) 06 Jan 2025 09:08:35
Funnily enough same game a year ago. Nunez jumps shoulder 1st into Evans. Then claps the referee. Gets yellow. Same game Dalot gets w yellows for q show of dissent. Michael Oliver the referee.

Nunez article

Nunez I think also did the same thing again to Evans at Old Trafford earlier in the season. How does he get away with it?

Madmax seeing as you don't seem to get involved with discussions on your own Liverpool page, what do you think?

11.) 06 Jan 2025 09:30:58
The worst decision was Maguires yellow. That was a great tackle.

12.) 06 Jan 2025 13:03:25
Handball was a pen imo. Maguire table was fair too imo.
The nunez was very much deliberate.
I don't think there is an agenda against United.
Get some decisions don't get others that's life.
You could cry about refs all day.

Definitely an upgrade on Onana, been really impressed with Diogo Costa when I've seen him play, really calm. He would be my 1st choice.

Standard of VAR is a complete joke. need ex pros in there with them. Definitely a red for collins. The Chelsea v Brighton game and gusto almost kicks the Brighton players head out the stadium and not deemed a foul or dangerous play ?.

I hate the take one for the team yellow card. tripping someone or just pulling them back to stop a counter attack. Love it to be a red card.

Agreed jred but also Rooney form depends on him staying injury free. When he gets a run of games he gets his sharpness back unfortunately after every injury it seems to take him 4 or 5 games to get back to his level.
