Worst case scenario would not be no signing today but losing Pogba after window closes πŸ˜₯.

1.) 08 Aug 2019 09:06:47
One thing I'm sure of is that if we don't sign a midfielder, there is absolutely no way Pogba would be allowed to leave.

2.) 08 Aug 2019 09:10:32
Pogba won’t go now but will be off next season cannot blame him he has been given no support in that midfield. How Woodward is allowed to dictate transfer policy is beyond me, he is a laughing stock to other clubs. Yet again another appalling transfer window. I know we got maguire and AWB in but we could have had both of them in on day 1 of the window and paid exactly what we paid anyhow. He has again failed to sign a midfielder and we currently minus pogba have the worst midfield in the top half of the table and the others are all strengthening. Sold lukaku without a recognised goal scorer now at the club, genius. As long as Woodward is at the club it will go nowhere but backwards. 7th place this season providing Pogba stays fit.

3.) 08 Aug 2019 09:22:41
That's one take Rivian. Another is that it allows other players to step up, allowing more game time for McT and Gomes who look like they are ready for a breakthrough season.

Who knows. I'm just guessing, like you are.

4.) 08 Aug 2019 09:23:11
Hope never dies (until the deadline), we'll have a midfielder even if it's Jonjo Shelvey!

5.) 08 Aug 2019 09:59:46
Jaime🀩 you are already consistent in your posts mate.

Wazza, ziko we can't kid ourselves if Pogba leaves without a replacement some of statements posted here like season is over before it began would be absolutely true.

6.) 08 Aug 2019 10:15:29
Best case scenario is we make no signings, are outside the top 4 by Christmas, realise its Woodward that needs to go and actually sort the club structure out.

7.) 08 Aug 2019 10:53:37
I wonder what happened with the technical director or director of football Unite were looking at.

02 Aug 2019 04:17:18
Sly saying that Maguire made it clear he wants to move and we are ready to Offer 80m but Leicester demanding 85m and we are not ready to pay that much.

Same sly in another report quoting one of its reporter saying 80m is the 'magic figure' to get him.

I have a feeling that it would drag a bit more again. I still feel he is the most important signing for us in this window, it's scary to think of going into the season with only Lindelof as a decent CB. It's time we wrap this up.

1.) 02 Aug 2019 07:48:36
What makes the McGuire 'transfer' more excruciating is having to look and listen to Leicester's mouthpiece. Brendan Rogers. horrible little smarm.

2.) 02 Aug 2019 08:04:34
I agree Rivian but the fee is outrageous.

3.) 02 Aug 2019 08:56:35
I can't say we need not worry about the money as we see over paying wages and fee have been problematic in case of Sanchez, Lukaku. It is very difficult to move them on and not being able to move them block other signings.

But it is how the market now, any kid with potential 40/50m any relatively unknown guy has one or two good season it is 80/90m. So we don't have an option.

01 Aug 2019 17:55:18
So after Tottenham news, apparently Dybala deal is now being 'hijacked' by Inter with a swap for Icardi.

What next Maguire joins City? πŸ˜‚πŸ€£.

1.) 01 Aug 2019 18:39:35
Hope Maguire joins city.

2.) 01 Aug 2019 18:53:39
Seems he has been left out of the squad for friendly. guess he will be announced soon mate.

I understand that some here doesn't rate him but no one can deny that he is certainly an improvement with the defeders we already have, so may be the guys in-charge of our transfers identified him as an improvement that is attainable. with bailley also injured I feel he will be an important signing for us.

Bruno will also be a cracking signing for us but now with Spurs involved I am a bit worried. we should have wrapped up both the deals early.

3.) 01 Aug 2019 20:43:58
We will probably end up doubling the wages that Spurs offer him.

Either way it’s all media rubbish, new stories every day that contradict each other. They had Fernandes booked in for a Utd medical last week and now he’s going to Spurs.

Can’t wait til this window closes so we can get back to discussing football!

The season is here!

To see the players walk out with the red shirt.

To hear our faithful sing their heart out πŸ’“

To listen to the roars when each player is announced.

To see one of our legends in the tactical.

To witness our own young lads get their chance.

To feel the goosebumps to the eruption of Stretford end on every goal.

To experience the tears of joy for our beloved club.

Can't wait for it to begin.

1.) 11 Aug 2019 14:50:48
Very poetic mate.

Not sure if I posted this with me network error.

To Ed033, I guess you are the tech guy, I wanted to request if its not too much it would be great if we had a link to Ed001's latest podcast near the big red button. With the amount of posts in the site Ed's podcast quickly moves to 2nd or third page and posters like me form different time zone might miss it. Would understand if not possible.

{Ed047's Note - it came through and I tagged it for ed033 mate so he may not have had a chance to look at it yet.

1.) 09 Aug 2019 17:46:23
Thank you ed033 you are a wizard πŸ˜‡.

{Ed033's Note - ok thanks

Just been going through all the signings of our rivals, let's not kid ourselves top 4 is going to be really tough.

I am not writing us off in fact I am really excited to see how we do this season. New style of play, attacking football, we are going to see some of our kids get their chances as well. We shall take one game at a time. Roll on Sunday 🀩🀩

We are Manchester United we never ever give up atleast not before the season starts πŸ˜‚. GGMU.

1.) 09 Aug 2019 08:04:01
TheRivian, yes our rivals have made some signings but you also need to take into account that players from outside PL rarely settle in straight away, most need an entire season and others never settle in to make a mark.

I do agree with the rest of your post and the team does always setup to win games and as you say "one game at a time".

07 Aug 2019 09:42:50
Where is all this no Eriksen news coming from? According to AS we have agreed personal terms and trying to agree on a fee with spurs. Not saying its true but let's just wait till tomorrow evening and stay positive. We have already addressed two important weakness in squad. Any more signings in midfield or forward will be great and put us in a better position but its not all doom and gloom if no more signing.

{Ed002's Note - I would not always believe what you read - they may be talking out of their AS.}

1.) 07 Aug 2019 10:38:46
Ed002 :)

2.) 07 Aug 2019 10:39:24
Love it Ed002 :-)

3.) 07 Aug 2019 10:51:32
i though eriksen always said he wanted to go to spain.

4.) 07 Aug 2019 10:52:23
Ed - nice.

To the best of your knowledge do you think we will sign anyone or do you think out business for this summer is done?

Thank you in advance.

{Ed002's Note - Yes.}

5.) 07 Aug 2019 10:57:24
Ha. very clever reply from Ed002 πŸ˜‚.

6.) 07 Aug 2019 11:01:14
Anyone get the feeling Ed002 can’t wait for thursday 8PM.

7.) 07 Aug 2019 11:21:32
Oh no 8pm thought it was 5pm.

8.) 07 Aug 2019 11:27:20
Ed πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚.

9.) 07 Aug 2019 12:44:34
it is 5PM. thursday the 8th.

28 hours 15 minutes.

10.) 07 Aug 2019 15:21:19
Really should have worded that question better! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

11.) 07 Aug 2019 17:37:22
Ed002 was instrumental in the Premier League moving the transfer deadline forward.

06 Aug 2019 03:50:53
Hi Ed001 good morning!

I am not sure if this was already discussed but why you think Sanchez seems so so poor while he was at Arsenal he was so so good. Will the change of game plan like pressing high and more attacking intent benefit him, will he have something to offer this season. All the posters here have entirely omitted him on any discussion on squad strength like he is not even here 😊. With Copa America run really hope he comes good this season.

{Ed001's Note - in part it is down to the amount of football he has played in recent years. He has barely had a break in about 15 years, other than injuries and it just catches up to players at some point. You can't just keep spending the summer playing for your country every year, then coming straight back and playing for your club forever. Especially not when you do as much sprinting as he does.

The change in play will help him a lot, but he needs to be used correctly. It might be that he has to be moved up front or behind a striker to get the most out of him. The central role requires less outright pace to be effective.}

1.) 06 Aug 2019 06:55:06
Rivian

See part of one of my posts below, not all posters dismissed Sanchez.

04 Aug 2019 09:47:34
I said last season our defensive line is too deep because we didn’t have a leader or trust what was there in defence. It left too big a gap between areas. If they push up 5 to 10 yards it will bring the team closer together, compact our game more and I think if he is still there could help Alexis more than most.

2.) 06 Aug 2019 07:31:31
Alexis is a really good finisher.
Really good first touch and he can make something happen when fed around the box.
A turn around in form will be a dream as he is a match winner.

3.) 06 Aug 2019 08:01:47
Ed seems we got him on his decline then. It also seems a responsibility of the coaches to inform players when to rest and take care of their body. I also very much doubt Ole would use Sanchez centrally ahead of Rash or Martial. Cheers have a good day.

Red man seems I missed it and you have a point when in Arsenal he was good as he had 2/ 3 players close to him in and around the box linking up very well. But sometimes for us he seemed not even able to find a very simple pass, may be as Ed mentions all the years of non stop football catching up to him. Wish he comes good for us for atleast one or two seasons.

{Ed001's Note - it was always a risk signing a player at his age, as he was only ever going to be, at best, about to begin a decline.}

4.) 06 Aug 2019 10:25:03
Sanchez was always pace and energy, he seems to have lost a little bit of both but has been unable to adapt his game.

If the latest 65m plus add on bid from inter is true it would be sensible to accept it. But it would be so difficult to do anything on one day 😜.

Guys AJH has a point. The problem is not there is a convincing required for Dybala. But why to convince a player who is not seen as much needed who is not willing to move to us who will demand monstrous wage who has stalled for the past year. If it is someone who we have identified as main target it's worth going through the trouble. Imagine we sign him and has not really worked out then we will have another player on 350k wages very difficult to move.

You got to give it to him. He knows what to say to the press. You don't get any negative feeling or have to listen to constant moaning on things. Good guy Ole. Listening to him sets the positive mood to look for the Chelsea game. :)
