Hi read in the mirror this morning something about Herrera being alleged of match fixing when previously in Spain. They won the game in question so can anyone shed some light on this. I'm assuming from the article that is something to do with getting some payment for winning the game

bookedredmole

{Ed001's Note - it is common practice in Spain for clubs to offer payments to other teams to try harder at the end of the season, when the game would otherwise be meaningless to the team they wish to win. Odd system, but could that be anything to do with it? Only that is legal there, though it shouldn't be.}

1.) I read something about this, I don't think he's getting in trouble for it I just think he's being questioned to see if he knows anything about it, I doubt it it's probably between the clubs finance chiefs but you never know.

2.) Agree ed that does appear to be a weird system but thanks for the info. Article seemed to indicate he could be in trouble if implicated. Think the lads done well on the pitch so far considering the time he has been at the club.

{Ed002's Note - I have no interest in discussing this matter but I will say that Toni Doblas is key to this whole thing.}

Ed's with joleon lescotts contract expiring at end of season do you think it likely moyes will try and sign him? I don't personally want him at ot but heard a little rumour that the above might happen

bookedredmole

{Ed002's Note - No.}

1.) A nice concise response that allays all my fears. Thanks ed

Read this morning that rvp wants a rest due to niggling injuries. Don't think this is a bad thing as played well without him (not knocking rvp just think he hasn't been as good this year which could be accounted for due to having knocks)

bookedredmole

1.) Has more to do with Moyes moronic pre-season training. RVP had a barren spell after Christmas under Fergie but still came good. The fact he has any niggles is down to the training regime. I feel sorry for him - he must have felt made up this time last year and now he's probably looking around wondering why he signed for United. He would never have signed if Moyes was manager 18 months ago.

2.) It would give us a chance to play Rooney up top with Kagawa in behind. That seems to get the best out of both players. Put Januzaj on one of the flanks and that should be some good football there.

3.) RVP is not in the best form.Rooney will never be as good as RVP when both are at their best.All players suffer from niggles it is the nature of the game.What need to happen is a working plan to get him through the problems.

4.) IanO you can't say that. Rooney and Rvp are different types of strikers. No doubt Rvp has better movement and finishing but Rooney has a wider range of passing, he's a stronger runner on the ball, puts in a lot more effort defensively and joins in with the build up play to help get things ticking.

There is no point trying to compare them just enjoy the fact they're both world class.

5.) IanO- rooney is the best player we have got, like ozwald said, he does more than just scoring, take him out of our team and we are nowhere near as strong, both top players but RVP is just a goalscorer, dosen't do half the stuff rooney produces, I would day rvp is more clinical and does what he has to as a striker, but rooney is a grafter and mops up all around the pitch

Spoke to a friend who is involved with Everton and he told me they do not need to sell players so we can't expect that to be a factor when after fellaini/baines. He did say that they had expected bids for fellaini though and stated in his opinion fellaini may be moved on if Martinez would prefer to use the money for his targets. I'm guessing from that any fellaini bid would come down to Martinez decision if kenwright feels the amount is suitable

bookedredmole

1.) Another made up story.

2.) Would Fellaini and Baines REALLY make that much of a difference to our first 11.
I am worried they only look good, because they are playing in an average Everton side. Would they shine at OT? I remain to be convinced.

3.) I would say average the ripped us to pieces at goodison last year I think there better than people give them credit for think they have just lacked match winners but that's changed now I was gob smacked when I saw they passed the ball more than anyone else at weekend that's a different approach now they have mirallas barkley baines fellaini all can win matches for them if there strikers can notch 50 goals for them then they could be top 4 don't underestimate them they are a team that look balanced and a threat and in barkley he could be stand out player this season in prem the kid is so gifted I have not seen midfielder like that for long time people say he is similar to Gerrard but I think he could be better he is better with the ball at his feet reminds me of Zidane but we are going to see a great player grace the prem

4.) I kinda got the impression from my friend that Baines isn't available (obviously an obscene amount of money offered could change this) however fellaini is a potentially viable sale. oh and no name who stated this is a made up story I can assure you its not but for blatantly obvious reasons I can't say who my friend is. I will say though that I have never posted any rumours on here before as haven't had the info but this time I could help out fellow readers of this site with valid info.

After mourinho's first game thought i would comment on his start so far from my opinion. First i would say it was nice to see him off his seat and on the touchline expressing his wishes to the team which the majority felt was a weakness of lvg last season. He is also acutely aware of the fans issues with the team last year so has also provided the soundbites when interviewed to ensure fans hear what they expect and support him passionately from the outset. Now i am not implying that utd fans would not support him but am highlighting in my opinion one of his biggest strengths which is the psychological aspect of human beings. It is well known that mourinho interacts differently with each player dependent on what he feels will get the best out of them so it will be interesting how this pans out with the squad (will they fight for him like zlatan, lampard etc or turn against him like casillas did) . Mourinho is well known for his guided discovery approach which he originally learned from lvg who learnt it from rinus michels and i believe the best leaders understand that to get the best out of people they have to feel something for the individual (in this case mourinho) . One of my favourite examples of psychology to fire up players is shankly's chelsea fa cup brochure (yes i know he was from a great rival team but the idea is genius) . I am sorry for the long post but thought it makes a change from who we need to sign as sometimes i feel people have the idea that you just buy the best and you will win everything but there is much more to it than just having the best team (as leicester, portugal, greece etc have shown) .

Hoping Sunderland win tonight to add a little bit of excitement to our last game (i sppreciate hull fans won't share my opinion as the game will be tense enough for them as it is)

Hi eds I have seen a couple of stories that depay flew into Manchester to have talks with Liverpool and that they have permission to talk to him (so should have agreed a fee with his club). Is this true and if so do united have permission too as found it strange he flew into manchester (unless this airport was nearest destination available of course)

bookedredmole

{Ed002's Note - Try and ignore tittle=tattle like this.}

1.) 25 Apr 2015 09:40:01
Fair enough, thanks for the response ed.

2.) 25 Apr 2015 09:51:33
I was at the airport and I saw him. He was wearing sunglasses, a baseball cap and a comedy moustache but it was definitely him as he was in full kit with his name on the back. I caught up with him and asked him was it true he was here to talk toLiverpool. he said 'Ja, for sure, as they are a massive club'

3.) 25 Apr 2015 13:03:26
I'm disappointed ajh thought he might have been in Elvis gear :)

Hi eds I know you don't like to talk about numbers but are you aware if united are still overspent on wages for ffp now we have some more commercial revenue deals agreed. Respect if you don't want to discuss it but thought I would ask as your very knowledgeable on these subjects.

bookedredmole

{Ed002's Note - This is why I don't want to talk about money. The commercial revenue makes no difference to the wages.}

I see posts about 5 players needed etc but does anyone even know where we are with regard ffp or premier league wage increase limits etc. I thought I had seen one of the eds mention we had overspent already. It could be we need to sell before bringing in more new faces. I have no idea if Jan transfer window is in a new accounting year but always assumed they were until 31st march each year. Is it possible to add some clarity on this area please eds?

bookedredmole

{Ed002's Note - The period in question is June for the FFP. I have explained previously that Manchester United are in breach of the wages aspects of FFP. A number of EPL sides are in breach of the FFP rules and MCFC have already been punished and have further sanctions hanging over them.}

1.) Thanks ed, I hadn't seen your other posts so apologies for covering old ground again but thanks for the response I appreciate it.

In my opinion I would be less surprised if we end up with mahrez than sanchez. I don't think we will sign either really and kinda hope griezman is still our target once a. madrid can replace him.

redman i too believe pep will go to city but only time will tell if he is a success there (he will be backed well of course in the transfer market) . I personally wouldn't be happy with jose as some are saying but this is due to his behaviour at last 2 clubs. Should the united board decide to change manager then i am not sure who would be best should pep go blue (chelsea or city)

i too have been surprised by some of the signings made by what some would call smaller clubs. I can see a fair few more quality players coming in when the new cash deal kicks in next season making for a very tight league with lots more so called surprise defeats for the bigger clubs. I did actually think the money was coming this year when the likes of shaquiri etc but an ed thankfully explained it was the next season

astar i'm not so sure they can't conclude deals considering this window and last year. sometimes things just don't happen for a multiple of possible reasons.

Thats good news in my opinion, heard good things about the lad before he came to united and his goal scoring record has been good where he has played. From the brief games i watched him for united he looked ok but i see more potential in wilson, that said i haven't watched him for a season so he might have developed massively in that time. It would be nice to see him at least given an opportunity on the tour to stake a claim. Interestingly though that the ed thought he had left and i thought i had heard a fee was arranged as part of his loan last season.

I always thought the best way to gauge a striker was goals per minute ratio and I could be wrong but thought ole was second on this list after Michael owen. I may have remembered this wrong and surely someone will let me know if I am but ole always was good for a goal as I recall.

Ken totally get it and see how some may find it embarrassing. I actually kind of agree and felt similarly with the grey kit issue years ago. I have however been impressed with ole's management skills around culture and personal treatment to form a team. The psychological contract is an area I work and have great interest in and something fergie was a master at (ole has not showed he is at this level but it's obvious he learnt a lot from sir alex) . That's not to say ole is fantastic as not bringing on subs at times, always starting slow and conceding first (usually) means something is amiss (is it tactics i don't know) but just imo from a people management/ culture aspect I think he has done well.

Ken you maybe right that is was wrong to air it publicly but I still think doing something about it after players mentioned it is a good thing. Worse case scenario it was a excuse which is no longer an issue.

Lets play! united I agree it is his job to listen and do something about it which is what he has done as for the squad rotation I agree this could be better.

Redman no I am not saying the colour red is making us lose. What I am trying to say is by listening to his players and then actioning something based on their concerns it is more likely to foster good relations and lead to a better team dynamic. It is a good managerial decision for the team as a whole. It's more a good managing people decision than anything relating to tactics.

Red Man as much as I agree with your reasoning that having red banners would not make much difference I don't think ole saying this is a bad thing. From a managerial point of view he is showing his players he listens and takes their comments on board whilst at the same time removing a possible barrier to better performance (even if you and me think it doesn't make much difference) .
