Anyone heard any truth to the rumour that Mourinho has been exploring the option of Alexis Sanchez?

{Ed004's Note - I highly doubt it}

van Gaal has offered Valdes the chance to finish his recovery and gain fitness with the United first team. This is a great opportunity for De Gea to learn more about van Gaal's systems as Valdes' has played under him before.

Could there be an outside chance we even sign Valdes as a backup keeper?

Hey Eds,

Has our interest in Vidal gone cold or is he still very much a possibility in the summer?

databass

{Ed004's Note - It didn't go cold it vanished}

1.) Well let's hope it resurfaces and becomes real!

ESPN are reporting that Chicharito has signed with AS Monaco, personally don't believe it but it is the rumour I've read.

According to the Guardian, United have turned down an offer for Januzaj and will not entertain any offers for him.

Apparently Reus was our big name target, he liked the personal terms and was receptive to the move. Clubs couldn't agree on a price.

Now looking at Griezmann and all other targets we have heard about already.

{Ed002's Note - Someone has been teasing you.}

1.) 01 Sep 2015 10:23:04
Go on ed put us all out of our misery and tell us who we are in for :)

{Ed002's Note - Manchester United are looking to pay well over the odds for Martial. That should keep you happy.

2.) 01 Sep 2015 10:30:16
Why though Ed? Why are we willing to pay well over the odds? Something doesn't add up here at all.

{Ed002's Note - That I cannot answer - these were the last words I wrote on Marshall about three weeks ago:

Monaco are willing to sell Anthony Martial but are looking for a sizeable fee as 25% of the total will go to Lyon. This price has scared off Lille who enquired after the player in June. Spurs and Dortmund had the player watched last season and may turn to him if other targets are not viable - but agfain price will be an issue. He was discussed between Monaco and Chelsea when loan players were being negotiated and Chelsea would have been willing to pay €20M - but the asking price was an astonishing €50M - there was no way Chelsea would pay that for him. Manchester United spoke with his agent - whether or not they progress it I don't know, but not good value at the asking price.}

3.) 01 Sep 2015 11:02:24
Wouldn't be surprised if someone had been having me on, but what's a deadline day without some good gossip and hope eh?

I take it we were never in at all for Reus?

4.) 01 Sep 2015 11:22:47
These numbers are insane. This young lad better be as good as Hazard.

5.) 01 Sep 2015 10:41:56
Great input ed002 great to see u back

6.) 01 Sep 2015 11:21:45
Cheers ed. Yeah they paid well over the odds, smells of desperation. But not my money so I just hope he turns out to be a decent player regardless of what was paid.

Ok I'm going to have to be the one to say it to all you negative nancy's on here.

We had 25 years of Fergie's style of football but guess what there are other styles of football too and none of them are wrong.

LvG plays a different style of football and just like Fergies methods its proven to work. Have some faith and stop jumping on every opportunity to hate. Support the team and we will be back winning trophies before you know it.

Well said buddy. I couldn't agree more.

2.) 11 Aug 2015 17:20:15
Great, if LVG leaves we could ask Big Sam to take over or perhaps approach West Brom for permission to speak to Pulis.

It doesn't make me negative to say I found watching us last year on the whole, well boring really. The 1st game didn't suggest any real change. I realise it's about winning trophies but if it means boring people to death then I'm not interested. We have a history based on swashbuckling attacking play (apart from Sexton), for me it isn't simply about winning.

3.) 11 Aug 2015 17:52:10
AJH, did you prefer last season or the season before?

4.) 11 Aug 2015 17:54:23
Well said. You'd think we'd got beat on the opening day from all the negativity on here. 5 players made their debut, and still possibly more signings to come. Its important to pick up points while the team gels, it's not going to happen overnight. Time to get behind the team and the manager.

5.) 11 Aug 2015 18:16:57
I think wee played poorly for a number of years. Not sure how old some posters are on here but get the DVDs of 92/3, 93/4, 99/02 and see how team used to play. Then there were the Ronaldo years. For several years now I really haven't enjoyed watching us apart from an occasional game when we shook off the stupor. Even last year in our good run, it was all incredibly controlled and lacking passion. Just my view.

6.) 11 Aug 2015 18:20:23
I should add tat whist there are happy clappers and negative nellies I don't think am either. I support the team, am generally optimistic and phlegmatic, but we have been pants for a long time. After the money we have spent I am expecting a lot more.

7.) 11 Aug 2015 19:30:47
im with AJH on this one.
i also think that after the money we have spent over the last couple of years its fine to expect more.

in fact if any team or sportsman wants to be the best they need to set the bar high.

8.) 11 Aug 2015 20:03:22
I guess this was aimed at me Al, I just thought I'd talk about the net spend because I think it's interesting to see which clubs have done the best business in the window, in terms of bringing in quality and getting rid of what they don't need. In all honesty I think you saw your clubs name at the top of the list and overreacted a bit, if you personally don't care about net spend then why bother posting a thread about it on another teams page?

30 Jul 2015 13:10:16
One bad result at the whole site goes crazy, I think everyone needs to take a deep breath and trust in the manager and the team, we have more than enough quality in our side to challenge for the title.

no we can't do that databass, we just lost an important pre season friendly against a super team for an amazing trophy.

2.) 30 Jul 2015 14:19:32

3.) 30 Jul 2015 14:48:04

27 Jul 2015 03:51:58
LvG has been quoted as saying Ronaldo is type of player that we need. Is it time for the hype to begin?

databass

1.) 27 Jul 2015 07:30:52
LvG said "it is not possible. Because you have the club, Ronaldo and then you have Manchester United and how much Manchester United want to spend"

Interesting that he specifically mentions how much the club wants to spend.

Personally I think we need to look elsewhere , Ronaldo at 30 with the potential cost Madrid would want is not a good idea for me. Bale is another matter.

2.) 27 Jul 2015 08:41:47
Absolutely agree with you there Red Man. We should move heaven and earth to sign Bale. I see no reason why we can't sign a marquee winger like Bale, Reus, Muller, or Griezmann. For me we should get Pedro and Otamendi in, then spend the rest of the window chasing a marquee winger and a marquee striker.

3.) 27 Jul 2015 09:17:23
I'd prefer a two man tent winger and a gazebo striker but that's just me.

4.) 27 Jul 2015 09:18:29
Gilly

Bale, Ramos? And Lewandowski and I think we would have serious threat. Rooney cannot be the main striker we rely on and Depay is too inexperienced to rely heavily on. Note LVG referred to Barca's three 'Galacticos' and we have none. Bale and Lewandowski would be a serious threat and give us a chance at the top prize let alone the league. Yet I wonder if it will just be one this summer.

5.) 27 Jul 2015 11:41:18
I know that he said Ronaldo is not feasible, and that I agree, I would rather go for a younger player such as Bale for that price. But I do think the statement is a sign of intent we are after a game changer and I hope we get one.

6.) 27 Jul 2015 12:15:32
the fact that LVG has said Ronaldo's name is a guarantee that we won't be in for him we have kept our joke of a press in the dark for 2 years now, doubt he's going to start tipping them off now.

I've heard the absolute opposite. Giggs is only in a coaching role to placate the fans and LvG entrusts him with nothing, he's a figurehead who just stands around tiding his time.

Apparently has a great right foot and great acceleration. Has drawn comparisons with Henry.

I don't know much about him though, never seen him play just going off what I read.
