Get the feeling we are not going to sign anyone. No news of any players leaving either. Very disappointing transfer window and not optimistic about the season ahead. I think Ed needs to put someone else in charge of transfers and stop using this tactic of lining so many players up in the hope of signing 1. ☹ï¸.

The reaction would be simple, Sanchez will insist on going to City, which means City will either wait until the summer and sign him for free or Sanchez would dig his heels in and force through a move to City for a lower price than we bid in January.
Either way the press would have a field day about how City is perceived as a bigger club than we are by players now they have St Pep. So why get involved in something that will almost definitely lead to bad press for us?

Does anyone think the so called surprise signing could be Robben. With Costa now at Bayern, maybe they would be willing to sell. Also I'm sure there was rumours of him and van Persie not getting on, but that issue has now been addressed

My knowledge of Costa is minimal to be honest but so far in pre season he's been on the left which is where Ribbery plays no? Other than that it's a fair shout although he's turning 32 in January that's my only reservation.

Whenever Robben gets the ball you just know something is going to happen. Even at 32, and stricken with injuries, providing he isn't on ridiculous wages (120k+) and BM don't demand unreasonable fee, I'd love him to sign for Utd. A lot of variables there, so it's unlikely any of us will be buying a Robben Utd jersey.
All this talk by LVG about the need for a Galatico has us all buzzing, I'm not convinced we need one to challenge in Europe or domestically. We have an unbelievable array of talent in attack/midfield. Just a couple of missing pieces of the jigsaw at the back.
However, if we did bring in a giant of the game, the romantic in me wants that 30 year old with a supposed suspect knee!

I think jones will end up playing second fiddle if we do manage to bring in Otamendi or Hummels. I've had a lot of faith in Smalling and I hope for our sake he really kicks on now.
