Good luck jesse.

1.) 29 Jan 2021 11:19:56
Hopefully this up and coming academy kid realises his potential on loan.

2.) 29 Jan 2021 13:15:41
MrGoodKat, more like senior academy kid. Jokes apart good luck to him.

3.) 29 Jan 2021 16:03:30
yeah, it's unfortunate that he never continued playing well after 2018 WC - it's always more satisfying when an academy graduate makes it. Maybe the loan and getting out of Manchester will be good for him.

12 Jul 2017 18:48:37
10 mil for Adnan snap off their hand.

1.) 13 Jul 2017 00:20:45
All the best to the lad. So much promise unfulfilled. Hope he can get back on track in Spain. His farewell message was a nice touch albeit came across as a little bitter by referencing "some of the coaching staff"; clearly some people he has issues with and I'm guessing this is Jose and staff.
In today's prices £10m is nothing! Iheanacho is going for 2.5 times the price.

2.) 13 Jul 2017 07:48:01
Totally over hyped. Not the first and won't be the last.

3.) 13 Jul 2017 09:07:26
Iheanacho is more than 2.5 times better than him that is why. Talent wasted and we are lucky to get that amount for him, hopefully the funds raised will allow us to finalise with Perisic.

4.) 13 Jul 2017 09:52:39
Remember when PSG were willing to pay £40 million for him.

5.) 13 Jul 2017 11:12:50
We've done well getting that much for him. It's good to see we've started getting decent fees when selling. Maybe it's the market or maybe Woody is proving to be a good negotiator.

6.) 13 Jul 2017 11:22:37
Was that in the Daily Star?

7.) 13 Jul 2017 11:29:14
Psg would never have paid 40m for him.

8.) 13 Jul 2017 14:41:27
It was just before he signed his contract in 2013 when we made him the highest paid teenager in the world. I think Rashford and Sanches are currently the highest paid teenagers these days but it begs the question, does paying them so much ruin them.

9.) 13 Jul 2017 17:55:00
It can do grim.

05 Feb 2016 14:12:30
A quick question for any edds about,
Would it be possible for a club to put a clause in a contract to stop them going to a rival, or even to a PL club for a set period of time. Just thinking maybe this is why we are waiting for a certain special one.
A manager i once had was sacked and as part of his severance deal was that he could not manage another buisness in a 20 mile radius.

1.) 05 Feb 2016 18:54:45
Maybe Mourinho wants to wait till the summer. Pre season to get his ideas across, enough time to assess the squad and a summer window to get his players in.

2.) 05 Feb 2016 19:09:11
Not without the agreement of the particpant.

In the case of your old manager he will have agreed to that clause and as such probably got a larger severance package for doing so.

Under EU law you cannot enforce such a clause on someone without their consent. Its against the restriction of trade laws.

So if such a clause is holding Mourinho back from signing with United then it is only doing so because Mourinho agreed to such a clause as part of his exit from Chelsea.

3.) 05 Feb 2016 21:46:47
We sort of did that with Kenyon. He went on gardening leave for a bit. I think its been done before with managers just not made public.

4.) 05 Feb 2016 22:59:57
Just a mad conspiracy theory that came to me today!

5.) 05 Feb 2016 23:20:04
None compete clauses are very common in business although I have no idea whether they are in football. I suppose with football clubs becoming more and more like businesses it would not surprise me.

6.) 07 Feb 2016 09:22:33
I think Mourinho wants to weigh up his options before taking a new club over, plus all the negative stuff that was coming out about him before he got sacked will of died off by then.

Ed what's the score with valdes? Tell me that lvg is not thinking of keeping him on. Ideal number 4 but no more than that! he's been training with us for a while its concerning me .

{Ed002's Note - Valdes is out of contract, returning from a lengthy lay off from injury and looking for first team football. If Manchester United lose Lindegaard and Valdes can prove his fitness, a short-term contract might suit all given he has been training with the squad. Liverpool had approached the player but Rodgers put his foot in his mouth over any possible deal.}

1.) Thanks ed i just hope de gea stays and signs a new contract i hope we are not looking at valdes just in case!

{Ed002's Note - Valdes will be related to Lindegaard.}

2.) Thank god!!! Cheers again ed

27 Jan 2014 14:04:27
Just spoke to a mate in spain who claims united rep in bilbao regarding muniain! Not sure if he's a prem player? Are any eds aware of this.

1.) 27 Jan 2014 15:09:44
I wish this were true. He is a top top player. 21 reminds me a bit of Davide Silva but quicker. He will only improve and is regarded as one of the best younsters in Spain

2.) He's stagnated somewhat over the past few season. Still a good player with a lot of potential. Could only be a good signing if it's around the £20m mark.

3.) If there is a rep there the they may be discussing Herrera

4.) He is working for Spurs. Boy wanted by Spurs.

Loved seeing Ed001's comments on the Ragnik situation. Hopefully he is just what the club needs and sticks around to help us get back on the right path.

25 Nov 2021 18:07:25
Ed02 what's your opinion on the Ragnik situation?

{Ed002's Note - The issue is the structure rather than the individuals.}

1.) 25 Nov 2021 20:36:23
Ok Ed002 do you feel this could be a step in the right direction.

{Ed002's Note - It depends what happens next summer. They are moving the problem down the road.}

2.) 25 Nov 2021 20:40:31
Would Rangnik be able to change it given that he moves into a more focussed role in 2022?

{Ed002's Note - As some sort of consultant?}

Not playing well but still winning 🤔🤔 it's better than loosing 😉.

{Ed077's Note - I guess it is

1.) 29 Aug 2021 18:37:01
Ddg was excellent
Varane was very good
3 points.

2.) 29 Aug 2021 18:40:33
Has anyone else been highly disappointed in Sancho’s first 100 minutes for the club?

Seems to hesitate and then pass backwards, like Rashford did for the last few months of last season.

Fingers crossed it’s just him getting used to us and a new league….

3.) 29 Aug 2021 18:43:14
That's it Ken👍 look for the positives, the fact Ole looked really p. ed of even after the goal was a positive for me.

Start of the season and hopefully we will build momentum and things will come together bit by bit.

4.) 29 Aug 2021 19:03:21
Sancho has to fer up to speed with the prem and settle in give him time.

He needs a run of games that was his first start in a game where the midfield and full backs were poor going forward

Not worried about sancho

Varane was solid his posisional play was great and other than the corner where he was out jumped he won every 50 50 header.

Fred was terrible he cannot start next game, that two games in a row he has been shocking

Vdb deserves a start next game.

5.) 29 Aug 2021 19:04:49
Every game has positives and negatives. Three points is the most important positive, however there were far more negatives.
After the Southampton game Ole said they would improve, work on a few things during the week and will be ready for Wolves, I didn't see any evidence of that.

6.) 29 Aug 2021 19:15:33
Games like this are nothing new, even in our best years we’ve nicked points whilst playing scrappy. It wasn’t pretty at all! but was a valuable 3 points on the road. More minutes for Sancho and a debut for Varane. I feel sancho may need a little time before we see the best from him. Fred was just…. Fred lol I like Ole but even I can’t defend his decision to play him repeatedly 🙈 but as frustrating as it is at least we know that the club/ manager is actively trying to strengthen in that area so hopefully we won’t have to suffer for too much longer, also Ronaldos arrival should boost confidence in the squad in the coming days. 👍🏻.

7.) 29 Aug 2021 19:22:11
When we win i will take it Simon.
No point moaning too much after a win. We rode our luck once again we have ddg's brilliance to thank along with Mason those 2 have made the match winning / drawing contributions in the last 2 games. I doubt another keeper on our books or in the league makes that double save not to mention the earlier 2 or 3.
Lots of below par performances but we got away with it and move on in the hope that we play better in the next game at home to Newcastle.
Even sleepy old Trafford will be jumping and I'm liking forward to it on 7 points.

8.) 29 Aug 2021 19:39:03
Do people still think Henderson is a better option than DDG? Whilst ddg still has his lapses, there's no doubting his quality.

9.) 29 Aug 2021 19:52:04
agree with everything you said @lickyfields and @ken!

@redwhiskey i can name one fella who definitely thinks deano is better. That would be our resident wordsmith, a certain Mr. Shappy :)

Btw i am totally with you! camp david all the way!

02 Aug 2021 17:33:59
Will city go out and spend 200-250 million on Grealish and Kane? I can't see them buying both in one window.

1.) 02 Aug 2021 18:00:54
They might, effectively they need to replace BOTH David Silva and Aguero.

I say need, I mean want to.

This is the same club that spent 130m on full backs in one window. While they have on more than one occasion spent in excess of 200m in one transfer window.

So I wouldn't rule it out. If they do manage to sign Grealish AND Kane this summer whoever finishes above them will be champions no doubt.

2.) 02 Aug 2021 18:36:46
At the end off the day there's only so many players that can play, but if you are rotating top quality players like kane and grealish for KDB and jesus we won't get anywhere near them.

The depth and quality will hold off us chelsea Liverpool, we will be fighting for champions league again.

Its rubbish but I think this is the harsh reality, I know some think with the money we spend we should be winning the league but look at how well they spend and the quality of players they look to bring in.

3.) 02 Aug 2021 19:56:03
To be honest, spending $100m on a player in current climate is pretty obscene. Spending on two in same window would be out of touch with the rest of society.

I know utd have purchased two high cost players. But the amounts were much reduced seemingly in some context with the global situation.

I realise to get those two players that is what you would have to pay. But honestly don't think any club should be spending that much right now.

4.) 02 Aug 2021 21:19:31
It's just the way the cookie crumbles I guess, city have a much greater spending fund. Our owners are running a business and are in it mainly for profit, as long as city are able to strengthen every season and buy the best we don't realistically stand a chance.

We would need a manager who can out perform every other manager and that's not happening with Ole, so we are stuck in groundhog day I guess.

5.) 02 Aug 2021 21:36:18
To be honest city can afford both as they have plenty of players they can recoup money on. If they were to sell sterling, silva, laporte and jesus for instance that would prettt much pay the fees and wages needed.

6.) 02 Aug 2021 21:48:26
If they make back money and wages from player sales I think it is fair enough. Just good business.

But if they replace David Silva and Aguero (no sale value) with 2 players over $100m on mega wages it is crazy.

Same goes if utd go spend same.

At some point football needs to be a bit more responsible. Lower ticket prices if you have lots of cash. (Lol)

7.) 02 Aug 2021 21:59:50
I don't see any big deal. If they spend it they will balance the books somewhere. Good luck to them if they sign them both. I doubt kane will score as many as aguero did so I don't see any big improvement there for them and grealish will be doing well to do as well as silva did.
No united fans were bemoaning when we bought rio, Rooney Cole rvp Keane when nobody else was spending big.

8.) 02 Aug 2021 22:02:57
What are the prices for those players? Would anyone really offer as much as City wants, knowing they need to sell? Is there even any interest for those players?

I only heard Arsenal would be interested in Silva, other than that, I haven't heard anything.

Perhaps ed could tell us something more on the topic?

{Ed002's Note - What topic?}

9.) 02 Aug 2021 22:03:02
What’s not to say signing Kane and Grealish might upset the balance of their team? Great players and city have a great team. All this talk that they’ll walk everything for the next 5+ years is a bit far imo. The Galaticos era at Madrid if I remember wasn’t their most successful era?

10.) 02 Aug 2021 22:14:38
Caolan, I don't think it's just the players although undoubtedly this helps, they have a proven consistent manager who knows how to breed a winning mentality. My point is they will be hard to topple when we can't compete financially or tactically.

Ole really has to get close this season and deliver silverware I don't think it's realistic to expect us to beat them, but it is realistic to expect us to try.
Top four isn't enough we need to push forward in all competitions and deliver some glory.

11.) 02 Aug 2021 22:52:58
Can’t see them buying both. Pep said last season Foden was Silva’s replacement. They probably need Kane more than Grealish. Supposedly they already bid on Kane first last month which was rejected. Maybe it’s a ploy to show Spurs they won’t be held to ransom.

12.) 02 Aug 2021 23:24:22
Ed, on the topic of City selling above mentioned players (Jesus, Silva, Laporte and Sterling) to get the funds needed to buy Kane.

I understand its not the City page, but whole discussion is made around City buying Kane, so perhaps you could be kind enough to give us some info.

Thanks in advance anyway, even if you decide not to write anything about it.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are asking for nor why you are asking on the Manchester United page.}

13.) 03 Aug 2021 10:33:28
If you want Ed02 views on Man City's transfers dealing there is a very comprehensive write up on their page.
Couldn't agree more with his views on Grealish, tosser off the field numerous issues with driving and drunkeness.

14.) 03 Aug 2021 14:24:40
Grealish may be irresponsible off the field but on it he rarely plays badly. He is exactly the type of player we used to sign. Talented confident got swagger and produces on the big stage.

Re spending "obscene" amounts as some see it, well City are just flexing their financial muscles like we used to when we were dominant and Liverpool did before us. Yes its crazy but its the way of the world. No point moaning about it.

15.) 03 Aug 2021 15:06:04
Never been impressed with Grealish, definitely talented, but when your biggest claim to fame is being the most fouled player in the premiership, then I'm happy we aren't signing him.

16.) 03 Aug 2021 16:04:08
Grim, I wasn't a fan of signing Grealish last summer, especially at the figures quoted. He is a top talent, but there are questions over his off field antics and whether he can cope no longer being the big fish in the small pond.

I still think those questions are valid but with a second year in the EPL and improving his performances from the previous year I'd be a fool to doubt him or call him not good enough. He clearly is good enough to be one of the best players in the league.

The mentality questions still remain, but it wouldn't be such a gamble this year as it was last year.

I wouldn't be too concerned not signing him though. Simply because even though he has the talent, and he is proving himself year on year. I just don't see the need for him at United.

Does he displace Bruno at No.10? No he doesn't.

Does he displace Rashford on the LW? Maybe but probably not. He's a different type of wide player, but I'm not sure he suits our style (lack of pace and holds onto the ball for too long) .

I've seen some people claim he can play as a No.8, he can't in my opinion. Or at least I've never seen him play their and he doesn't seem to have the defensive acumen. At No.8 he'd be a poor man's Pogba in my opinion.

So signing Grealish for us would amount to spending 100m on a squad player. That's nuts and not something we can afford to do.

He suits City's system and would offer them something different. He can play LW or behind the striker. He may even suit a free 8 role that City some times use.

He will be a good signing for City if he does make the move. There is no point trying to deny he is a good player or that he doesn't improve City. He is and he does. Saying otherwise leaves us open to being called bitter.

Let's not be silly like those Arsenal fans or those Liverpool fans who are trying to proclaim that Varane isn't a good player and that White and Konate will be better signings.

If you laugh at them for being silly and denying Varane is a good player, while doing exactly the same with Grealish then the irony may be lost on you.

17.) 03 Aug 2021 18:08:00
Based on recent form I think he would replace Rashford no question on the left, and could do a decent job replacing Fernades, who himself needs to be the big fish. I wonder if he'll be nearly as effective as Utd start to get stronger - he looked pretty ordinary when coming on for Portugal in the Euros.
However, point being - do Utd need Grealish? I'm sure he improves the team but it's not a priority position and I don't think he's been on the radar. When Martial or James move on, suddenly we're banking on Elanga/ Pellistri to come good. Signs are promising.

18.) 03 Aug 2021 19:09:13
Shappy, your right Grelish has the talent, but what makes you a great player, especially at United where your evey move is scrutinised, is your mentality. We already have plenty of players with the talent, but not the mentality, why sign another. Kane is a different matter, top player and exactly what they need, he is more likely to be the difference for them.

On Varane he is a good player, will he do well at United, I have no idea. We have signed quality before and it just didn't work out.

19.) 03 Aug 2021 21:03:23
Maybe we should judge Grealish after his first season with City.

God arsenal would probably be very lucky to achieve top four on current form. I think shappy was referring to the old arsenal, when they where a decent side.

{Ed077's Note - they would probably want a open top, bus parade if that happened😂😂
