Good luck jesse.

Hopefully this up and coming academy kid realises his potential on loan.

2.) 29 Jan 2021 13:15:41
MrGoodKat, more like senior academy kid. Jokes apart good luck to him.

3.) 29 Jan 2021 16:03:30
yeah, it's unfortunate that he never continued playing well after 2018 WC - it's always more satisfying when an academy graduate makes it. Maybe the loan and getting out of Manchester will be good for him.

10 mil for Adnan snap off their hand.

1.) 13 Jul 2017 00:20:45
All the best to the lad. So much promise unfulfilled. Hope he can get back on track in Spain. His farewell message was a nice touch albeit came across as a little bitter by referencing "some of the coaching staff"; clearly some people he has issues with and I'm guessing this is Jose and staff.
In today's prices £10m is nothing! Iheanacho is going for 2.5 times the price.

2.) 13 Jul 2017 07:48:01
Totally over hyped. Not the first and won't be the last.

3.) 13 Jul 2017 09:07:26
Iheanacho is more than 2.5 times better than him that is why. Talent wasted and we are lucky to get that amount for him, hopefully the funds raised will allow us to finalise with Perisic.

4.) 13 Jul 2017 09:52:39
Remember when PSG were willing to pay £40 million for him.

5.) 13 Jul 2017 11:12:50
We've done well getting that much for him. It's good to see we've started getting decent fees when selling. Maybe it's the market or maybe Woody is proving to be a good negotiator.

6.) 13 Jul 2017 11:22:37
Was that in the Daily Star?

7.) 13 Jul 2017 11:29:14
Psg would never have paid 40m for him.

8.) 13 Jul 2017 14:41:27
It was just before he signed his contract in 2013 when we made him the highest paid teenager in the world. I think Rashford and Sanches are currently the highest paid teenagers these days but it begs the question, does paying them so much ruin them.

9.) 13 Jul 2017 17:55:00
It can do grim.

05 Feb 2016 14:12:30
A quick question for any edds about,
Would it be possible for a club to put a clause in a contract to stop them going to a rival, or even to a PL club for a set period of time. Just thinking maybe this is why we are waiting for a certain special one.
A manager i once had was sacked and as part of his severance deal was that he could not manage another buisness in a 20 mile radius.

simonmorris10

1.) 05 Feb 2016 18:54:45
Maybe Mourinho wants to wait till the summer. Pre season to get his ideas across, enough time to assess the squad and a summer window to get his players in.

2.) 05 Feb 2016 19:09:11
Not without the agreement of the particpant.

In the case of your old manager he will have agreed to that clause and as such probably got a larger severance package for doing so.

Under EU law you cannot enforce such a clause on someone without their consent. Its against the restriction of trade laws.

So if such a clause is holding Mourinho back from signing with United then it is only doing so because Mourinho agreed to such a clause as part of his exit from Chelsea.

3.) 05 Feb 2016 21:46:47
We sort of did that with Kenyon. He went on gardening leave for a bit. I think its been done before with managers just not made public.

4.) 05 Feb 2016 22:59:57
Just a mad conspiracy theory that came to me today!

5.) 05 Feb 2016 23:20:04
None compete clauses are very common in business although I have no idea whether they are in football. I suppose with football clubs becoming more and more like businesses it would not surprise me.

6.) 07 Feb 2016 09:22:33
I think Mourinho wants to weigh up his options before taking a new club over, plus all the negative stuff that was coming out about him before he got sacked will of died off by then.

Ed what's the score with valdes? Tell me that lvg is not thinking of keeping him on. Ideal number 4 but no more than that! he's been training with us for a while its concerning me .

simonmorris10

{Ed002's Note - Valdes is out of contract, returning from a lengthy lay off from injury and looking for first team football. If Manchester United lose Lindegaard and Valdes can prove his fitness, a short-term contract might suit all given he has been training with the squad. Liverpool had approached the player but Rodgers put his foot in his mouth over any possible deal.}

1.) Thanks ed i just hope de gea stays and signs a new contract i hope we are not looking at valdes just in case!

{Ed002's Note - Valdes will be related to Lindegaard.}

2.) Thank god!!! Cheers again ed

Just spoke to a mate in spain who claims united rep in bilbao regarding muniain! Not sure if he's a prem player? Are any eds aware of this.

simonmorris10

1.) 27 Jan 2014 15:09:44
I wish this were true. He is a top top player. 21 reminds me a bit of Davide Silva but quicker. He will only improve and is regarded as one of the best younsters in Spain

2.) He's stagnated somewhat over the past few season. Still a good player with a lot of potential. Could only be a good signing if it's around the £20m mark.

3.) If there is a rep there the they may be discussing Herrera

4.) He is working for Spurs. Boy wanted by Spurs.

Now it's women's captain Katie zelem leaving! We really don't have a plan for the women's team at all by the looks of things.

simonmorris10

1.) 27 Jun 2024 23:04:37
Yeah we do have a plan, stick them in the portacabin by all accounts.

2.) 28 Jun 2024 03:50:42
Seen a report the PFA are seeking to have a conversation with United about it.

3.) 28 Jun 2024 08:17:52
It's a sad state of affairs, and it shouldn't be happening at a club our size.

Yet the reality is the club is a massive mess and we have new owners who are just starting to o sort through the crap and try and get things in order.

To do so they will have to prioritise things in order of importance/ impact they have on the club as a whole. Rightly or wrongly the women's team has very little impact on the club as a whole, far far less than the men's team, they even have less impact than the academy.

Which means solving the issues with the women's team will be below addressing the club structure, the needs of the men's team, and the needs of the academy.

It's not right or fair, but that's business. If the club wants to be back challenging at the highest level again they need to fix other things around the club before addressing the problems with the women's team.

4.) 28 Jun 2024 09:50:43
It may also be counter productive as the women's team generates a decent amount of interest and exposure and potentially there is a 50% chance every new club supporter is a woman.

Priority to the first team is right provided it is done in a sensible manner and explained to the Women's team and they are not made to feel they have no value.

5.) 28 Jun 2024 18:24:21
The central issue is that the women’s team was set up because the club were embarrassed with not having one. It’s a huge credit to everyone involved with the women’s setup that they have achieved what they have with minimal investment. But it’s also completely understandable that the best players see the club as a stepping stone toward a top class team.

The new investors have their priorities and there’s so much to fix that you can understand what they’re focusing on. However, whatever way it’s spun, it’s massively disrespectful to the women’s, and is very crappy position to put them in.

6.) 28 Jun 2024 19:01:43
The women's team have kinda outperformed the men's in a way.
Since going up to the WSL the league positions have been consistent, it would be nice to see them push forward and challenge the top teams.

25 Jun 2024 21:56:25
WTAF is going on with the women's team. We let Alesia Russo go, ona Battle, and now Lucia Garcia and Mary Earp's.

Seem to be stagnant at the moment.

simonmorris10

1.) 26 Jun 2024 00:07:15
Earp’s was always going to leave at some point. Still a new team to women’s football compared to Chelsea, City and Arsenal so I think unfortunately this is just part of the process in the woman’s game.

2.) 26 Jun 2024 09:08:13
I wouldn’t exactly say it’s part of the process. More a symptom of lack of funding and not being viewed as important. For instance, the woman’s team have just bern kicked out of their training facilities so the men’s team can use them while Carrington is redeveloped. Doesn’t exactly give them the impression that they’re valued.

3.) 26 Jun 2024 11:54:28
Is Zelem out of contract too?
Letting the key players in the womens team leave for free whilst retaining players like martial for years (I know he hads left now) must be demoralising for the players. Hope they get a good plan together and show some more ambition following the fa cup win this year.

4.) 26 Jun 2024 11:56:07
Earp going is not a big loss. The back up goalie is pretty darn good and earp is not what she used to be and has had a few howlers this past year. Handing out new contracts to aging players at mega money would have been a bit of the same stuff we have been doing.

The training facility thing is a bit embarrassing and unfortunate to be in this position but what do you do when the men's team is the priority and no hiding from that.

5.) 26 Jun 2024 13:22:10
The issue is that the women’s team was started as a pr exercise because the club felt like they needed to have one. At best it has been treated like an afterthought by a club reluctant to invest in anything. Any player that does well at the club will look for a way out because they know that other clubs treat their women’s teams with more respect and professionalism.

6.) 26 Jun 2024 13:23:58
Who is the back up goal keeper to earps? How often have you seen her play?
As for training facilities you have to put up with the rain to see the rainbow.

7.) 26 Jun 2024 17:23:59
Tumble

American girl name escapes me, She is good and I have watched a few of the ladies games and she was starting, when earps was out with some sort of injury. She will start and I believe the club was always planning for earps leaving.

We also have pretty good keeper at under 18s and name scapes me but have watched him quite a number of games and expect him to make it. Anything Else:)

8.) 29 Jun 2024 10:49:25
Ahmad, Elyh Harrison is the under 18's keeper, and he looks a real talent.

I think the keeper is the hardest position for an academy player to breakthrough into the first team.

Unlike most other positions there is only one keeper slot in the starting 11, it's probably the position with the most responsibility and accountability. Every single player makes numerous mistakes in every game, yet when a keeper makes one its the only mistake that is talked about.

Harrison will need a couple of good loans over the next few years if he is to reach his full potential. Maybe by the time he's around 21 with a two good seasons as first choice on loan he might be ready to challenge for the No.1 spot at Manchester United.

Turns out we can't even cook poultry correctly ? scored a 1 on the food hygiene ratings ??.

simonmorris10

1.) 22 Dec 2023 23:00:49
Yeh at a health and safety event . If it was a stag do or something and we killed off some over the top jerk it wouldn't have been so bad, but it was a frigging health and safety event about food.

2.) 23 Dec 2023 07:11:57
Knowing United, the club probably think Salmonella is some Italian wonderkid and will be discussing a 70m bid for January.

28 Jan 2023 12:53:24
Watching Accrington Stanley v Leeds.
It's got me thinking on the worst commentator/ pundit, for me it's Martin keown closely followed by Glen Hoddle Michael Owen. Keown really does irk me though the bloke seems clueless!

simonmorris10

1.) 28 Jan 2023 13:21:23
Martin Keown, the man once described by SAF as "That f***ing idiot"?
Owen Hargreaves who precedes virtually every comment with "I agree with/ I'm with/ I think the same as Scholesy on this" is often irritating. But I agree with all listed on the OP as well.

{Ed014's Note - I’m a gunner and Keown does my head in!

Hargreaves needs an almight slap too!

2.) 28 Jan 2023 14:54:05
To be honest most of them are useless
I prefer the lesser names who do the foreign channels
The one who I think is very good is Danny Higginbotham.

3.) 28 Jan 2023 20:31:17
Worst is Super Alan Sherer, great footballer, as a commentator only states the blandest, most obvious things.

4.) 28 Jan 2023 23:21:15
Special shout-out to Lee Dixon, no wonder SAF was falling asleep must’ve been in ear-shot of him.

Jermaine Jenas and Danny Murphy are awful as well oh and Dion Dublin.

5.) 29 Jan 2023 00:40:03
I don’t worry about who the pundits are. I leave that to the experts in charge of employing them for whichever tv channel is showing the match ?.

6.) 29 Jan 2023 06:06:01
Haha, nice ports.

15 Jan 2023 15:50:28
The women are battering Liverpool. if Carling did weekends ?.

simonmorris10

{Ed014's Note - I thought the Liverpool women played yesterday!??

1.) 15 Jan 2023 15:58:20
Go easy Ed, they nearly won the Quadruple.

{Ed014's Note - to be fair they’ve been immense for some time but they are unbelievably poor this season.

I keep thinking they can’t get any worse then they smash it out of the park!

2.) 15 Jan 2023 16:21:26
They will have their work cut out to make top 4. The 7 horse race is quickly becoming a 5 horse race.
I think city and arsenal are sure things at this stage.
Liverpool and Chelsea remain 10 points off top 4. So assuming they lose 4 games each between now and end of the season we would have to lose 8.
Our squad is going to be stretched at some point but momentum and adrenaline are wonderful things. Win our next game against Palace that can be the only focus.

3.) 15 Jan 2023 19:12:38
I never discard Liverpool, as they have a habit of bouncing back. All they need is a good run of games. After the International friendlies, they will likely have a few key players returning.

{Ed014's Note - now you’ve depressed me, the thought of another international break is sole destroying! ?

4.) 15 Jan 2023 21:16:16
Ed014,

A bore fest. International football isn't what it used to be. I think after 2004, I stopped caring about International football.

5.) 15 Jan 2023 23:02:53
You clearly need better shoes Ed.

{Ed014's Note - ?‍♂️?

6.) 15 Jan 2023 23:03:20
. or fresher fish.

{Ed014's Note - shall I get your coat ?

God. Please don't let that happen to us 🙏, just being content with top four is not enough🤔😡 hopefully the glaziers have enjoyed the success of TNEP and push for some for us.

God arsenal would probably be very lucky to achieve top four on current form. I think shappy was referring to the old arsenal, when they where a decent side.

simonmorris10

{Ed077's Note - they would probably want a open top, bus parade if that happened😂😂
