Yes I would go along with all of the above. After two failed appointments I do not think he can risk another so it has to be someone who is a premiership winner and that is Jose. He will ruffle Ciy's feathers. Unfortunately it can only happen when it is mathematically impossible to get 4th place so could be a while yet. If we do get a position in the top 4 then it should still be Jose and if we end up missing out on him then questions need to be asked, Big Time.

RedSquirrel,

Why would it have to change only if it is mathematically impossible to get 4th? Moyes went then because it appears, having given him a ridiculous 6 year deal, that the financial pay off was significantly reduced when he didn't make top 4. Five years of his contract to pay may give been prohibitive. As at now, LVG only has 18 months left, not five years, so let's guess and say £11m. How much will it cost the club not to make top four? £40m or more? As I have said the next decision is crucial.

There are match going reds who are choosing not to go tonight and one or two I hear say they will be calling for Jose. If this is another tight game, without goals and given Stoke are a decent side, it could get nasty. Let's see how many empty seats there are and if we can score in the first half.

Red Man,

I am a match going red and I am going, as are all my mates who are 'match going reds', why would we not go? Because we aren't winning every week we throw our toys out of the pram? How embarrassing.

It is a Tuesday night game, there are always less people there due to work commitments etc.

If we don't score in the first half and continue to give the ball away like we did against Southampton then the fans will turn against the manager, they have already turned and it won't take long before they go again. Hopefully an early goal will settle the crowd and we can go into the Chelsea game full of confidence after 2 wins.

I don't get this mentality that now City have Pep we must go for Jose.

Their head to head record is 5 draws, 7 wins for Pep and only 3 wins for Jose.

Hardly a record that backs up the idea that Jose is the man to cut Pep down to size. 3 wins if 15 attempts.

its prob because pep has won the title every year bar 1, when jose won it .
and pep said the mental pressure of jose was 1 of the reasons he left spain (as well as others )

People had not bought tickets last week when the flyer came out offering an additional 4 tickets, unheard of. I am merely passing on that some match goers who I have heard saying they are not bothering tonight. There are some who are pretty angry as well. Personally I always found the game around the Munich anniversary an important and a poignant one.

We can't afford not to win tonight, especially with Chelsea away to follow.

Pep doesn't like Jose's attitude. So is that the reason to hire Jose?

I kid obviously, but Pep left Barcelona at the end of his contract. He also had grief with Messi who was fighting for more power within the club, and the media goldfish bowl he was living under as Barcelona manager.

But the fact remains even with Mourinho getting under his skin he still bested Jose more often than not.

So why is Mourinho the man to hire to cut Pep down to size?

I don't think Mourinho is the man to "cut pep down". I believe Mourinho has the arrogance and confidence in himself to build a strong team at Utd. I think Jose at Utd would have the pulling power - like Pep - to bring in the big names. I do believe he would adapt his personality to fit Utd because he knows what Manchester Utd means and is. He's close to SAF I'm sure and wouldn't want to let him down.
