Why are people saying "sell cleverly, Wellbeck etc. "
We will not sell our English squad players (bar maybe young) who will we replace them with without paying over the odds?

1993

1.) Young can be replaced with Lingard, Welbeck with a door stop, or if not Keane can have his place.

2.) So you are saying so long as they are English they will never be sold. so any excuse for a footballer has a career long contract waiting for them at OT so long as he is English. unbelievable how thick some people are.

3.) Brendan81

"Welbeck with a door stop"

Brilliant, sitting at the airport waiting to board and just made me laugh so hard.
He is so poor and I am willing to bet he will not be her in 24 months if this is as good as it gets.Fro 80 k a week there area better players out there. He is no strikers and not sure besides being big what are his strengths.

4.) No I'm saying we won't get that much for them, we never get much for anyone and always undersell. Then we'd have to replace them somehow, using up our budget to buy more squad players who may or may not be better than them, but dam sure will cost a lot more.
I think people are forgetting we can't have a squad of forgeign players.

5.) 'Fro 80 k a week' that just describes Welbeck perfectly, even if it was a input error :-)

6.) 1993 our younger guys could give as much as Welbeck, Cleverley etc, so why not let them have a go where the above have failed?

7.) Also 1993, do we really undersell? Or is it that we over inflate the prices we think we should get because they are players for Manchester United? Let me just ask, if Welbeck, Cleverley, Young, Anderson, Nani and Buttner were at say Aston Villa, would you want United to buy them? If so, what would you, honestly, be willing to pay? I can tell you I wouldn't want any of them on the performances they have put in for us and non would be anywhere near the £10m and over bracket for price. They would all be £8m and under going off performance.

Finally Jones and smalling together at cb, waited a long time for this! Hope they do a good job

1993

1.) Always something to stop this happening ffs.

2.) That lasted long!

3.) And Jones is out.

Moyes is getting his fair share of bad luck. As a matter of fact, he' s having many people's fair share of bad luck

4.) Perhaps now Moyes will understand why we'be all been crying out for Garay for the last 2 windows.

5.) I definitely jynxed that one!
Can anyone tell me the injuries? Where they bad tackles/ awkward landings or just a pull of a muscle?

I'd be interested to know how many injuries are due to strains and pulls this season tbh

I think the smalling substitution was justified in a way, he shouldn't be protecting 1-0 leads but at the same time we really needed the win. Just to get the ball rolling
However it's clear to see The current midfield duo are not working. I'd love a midfield 3 of Carrick or Fellini, with cleverly and kagawa. I think that's the best thing to do currently. With adnan and nani on the wings and RVP or Rooney up top

1993

1.) How did the Smalling substitution work out?

The truth is that Moyes's first substitution was a massive error and the other two were him trying to cover it up. Giggs came on for Nani. This is a 39 year old left winger being brought on to play on the right. It blunted our attack and Moyes realised it was a big mistake. So he brings on Welbeck for Fellaini to cover his mistake, allowing him to shift Giggs to the middle, but he also has to move Januzaj to the right so that Welbeck can play in his best position. Now by this stage we have got rid of an attacking threat, moved our most creative player from a wing where he was clearly besting the full back, and we have a 39 year old winger playing in the centre alongside a tiring Carrick. The net result was that we lacked a coherent shape and we're being decimated in the middle. Again Moyes tries to rectify his original mistake by bringing on a centre back, for another attacker, so he can shift Jones into midfield to offer cover for Giggs's lack of defensive ability. We now have no shape and have broken up the central defensive partnership. Almost immediately we concede a goal, but by this time Moyes has taken off two of his biggest attacking threats so we have no chance of getting a winner.

Saturday was amateur hour, and this wasn't the first one of the season. It's hard enough competing with our midfield when Moyes is determined to play 2 up front, but thinking that Giggs will help shore up a game shows his lack of tactical ability. He made a mistake bringing Giggs on and then made things progressively worse in trying to fix it, until he inevitably lost another two points.

2.) You are right Danny. I know we don't have the best midfield players, but it is exactly for that reason we have to play 5 in midfield.
For me, I think we should play Carrick as the holding player, with Fellaini, Cleverley in front and Kagawa and Januzaj feeding the lone striker.
We will be fantastic in possession and will be very hard to break down out of possession as we can press the ball high up the pitch.

Agreed Thorne
He said he knew it was time to leave when we picked park and raf the silva in the middle against Blackburn.

If that was you and you knew you could do better beb a chance you would be furious. Why the hell would he sign after that
On the other hand he is one of those players that I personally don't think would fit in a team like ours (his
Mentality)
