Question for everyone

Before today, When was the last game every single United midfielder either scored or forced a good save from the keeper?

I think we may just have a goal scoring midfield again and Rooney, RVP and Falcao in front let the goals begin.

1.) Not since scholsy days, have been moaning about the same thing forever, that is why guys like cleverly were weighting down this team. Come this summer i believe we will se a few more gone.

Boy did I enjoy that. Its a shame Shaw did not get a run out and Falcao did get a goal but everyone one else of the starting 11 played great.

My only main concern was Evan's passing which is just awful at the moment.

Im sure the new boys especially Di-Maria who have been excellent will get allot praise after the first half. Them aside, we looks miles better having Rafael back at right back.

1.) I agree. Rafa has been way way better than Valencia.

Hope he keeps his fitness.

2.) We look better with a lb a rb and 2 cbs

3.) Jred

I have been pleading for a back 4. Wait till shaw comes back then we would even be better.

Yeah imagine today if it were Rafa, Jones, Rojo instead of Blackett then Shaw as LB. Having said that Blackett didn't have a bad game, just Rojo is more experienced and more pacey.

Everyone moaning about this window needs to chill out.

We just brought the much needed LB that everyone wanted -Shaw
The high energy midfielder that everyone wanted last year - Herrera
Two absolute world class players to the envy of every opposition fan in the PL - Di-Maria & Falcao
The best left footed defender from the world cup - Rojo
A solid defensive minded midfielder who could develop the passing skills of Pirlo (if a certain RVP assist at the WC so anything to go by).

All of the above other than Falcao can play more than one position (all positions we needed cover for)

Include all the under performing players we just shopped out (even the ones that did not go its clear now that LVG does not want them) I think we had a great window.
Some may complain about Welbeck going but we just replaced is usual starting positions with two world class players who are just as quick yet in different league to Danny when comes to out and out skill and composure on the ball.

What have learn't today
Blanket can't pass
Evans can only pass to the opposition
Young and Valencia still can't cross
Refs just don't give United penalties anymore

LVG Tactics, well I don't even want to go there.

Any player who takes 5 months to xmas to get used to a new system should not expect to keep there place in the team. These are highly paid, highly skilled footballers so if they cannot adapt to a fast pace, exciting new system there is a big problem. The only exception ill give is when they are asked to play a boring slow system like under Moyes.

Like he was keen to move last summer. This story as been done death now so let's move on and find some realistic targets. That said I would not complain if i'm wrong.

The current formation just is not giving us the width we need to pull the opposition cm and full backs out of position to make room in the centre. A good winger or winger/full back combination will force to oppotion to cover the flanks with an extra man. Every team in the PL knows that young and Valencia pose little threat of going past their man and can be easily cover by their full backs whilst keeping a good formation.
Unless we play Di_Maria and Janauzj every game we need full backs in the line up. For a long time now its been Rafael and Evra that have made Valencia and young look even remotly good with the extra width and support on the overlap they gave.

Cuadrado would be great but the player we really need is an established right back so we can switch to a back 4. We can't rely an Rafael to stay injury free and we desperately need to drop the back 3.

I agree with most of your analysis other than Blackett. His passing today for horrible and he gave the ball away virtually every time he tried the long ball out, which was allot of times.
Disappointing because I think he was been the watch out of all the youngster so far.

Really hope we switch to a back 4 sooner rather than later.

If we had not been forced through injuries to play today without a single left back or right back in the squad, I would question if we would have played 3-5-2 and all?
It didn't exactly play out as planned in the first game. I think 3-5-2 has always been due to the players available and not because LVG prefers it.

Having loads of players out on loan means nothing. Out of the 31 players you mentions at City and Chelski how may do you reckon will make the first team? Zero would be a good guess.

If player is good enough i.e. Januzaj or the class of 92 they will go straight in the first team. Its players such Welbeck and Cleverly who are squad players at best that are more likely to be loan out.
