Hi Ed,
Thanks for all the time and information you're constantly giving us!
I tried the search engine but couldn't find anything specific - I was wondering if you had any insight as to the long term futures of Smalling and Jones? Besides the fact that they've been awarded recent contracts, as a biased observer I was hoping that would be more to do with the fact that we wouldn't want to let them leave on a free or for cheap - rather than the club expecting them to be in the squad for another 5 years.
{Ed002's Note - They were not given the new contracts in order to increase their values. I am surprised that happed.}

According to reports phil jones was the most surprised when he got the call that he was getting a new contract.
He had a one year option that the club could have triggered if they wanted to.

Jones is banging the daughter of one of the Glazers, Young is closely linked with Singapore Noodles and Smalling is the next quarter back for Tampa Bay. What other reason to keep them three?

I almost believed you but Jones gets injured walking onto a pitch. Athletic bedroom gymnastics would finish him.
