Overheard a couple of people complaining today that all has gone quiet on the transfer front regarding United.

United have nearly always tried to conduct their negotiations without a media circus. The only reason everyone knew about the Di Maria deal weeks ago was because Madrid leaked it to the Spanish media in order to drive his price up.

I would be very surprised if at least 2 more weren't brought in before Monday. Having said that I'm fairly sure Vidal will not be one of those players, which is a shame. The only one I would put money on would be Daley Blind.

Also, to all the opposition fans laughing at United at the moment. He who laughs last my friends .

Not sure we'll see any more signings for at least another week as rumour has it all LVG's transfer targets are still at the World Cup, with the exception of Vidal.

Having said that there is the possibility that the deal for Vidal will be done by the end of next week.

1.) I hope Sanchez is a target as well.

I'm convinced we won't sign anyone today. Even Arsenal are signing players, bad times!

Rumours in the press today surrounding Ander Herrera, Ozil and Kaka. I'm still clinging on to the (ever fading) hope that United might actually sign a decent midfielder this window.

Don't know about everyone else, but I'll be incredibly underwhelmed if the only signings we make are Baines and Fellaini. Last thing we need are mediocre signings. Why not spend the money on a decent midfielder?

kp7

1.) How is it mediocre?! Baines statistically is the best left back in Europe and Fellaini is in the top 3 defensive, powerful midfielders in the League. And he scores goals. I admit that he ought to have a haircut but we will be much better off with those two than without them.

2.) If you think Fellaini isn't 'decent' then you have clearly never seen him play.

3.) KP7

It's pathetic, I can't even see Fellaini and Baines coming in now and even if they do I will be gutted.
I think the whole transfer window had been like a circus from uniteds point of view.
I wake up every morning and turn on a website and have done for the past 2 months and the same old sh*t comes out of David Moyes mouth. "Man United are always interested in the best players"
Lets face it we can all say it, we want action not words.

4.) I agree with you on this one, baines maybe an improvement on evra but i'd go as far to say not a massive one, as for fellaini yes he'd improve our midfield but is he the answer against the likes of bayern munich, borussia dortmund, real madrid, barcelona or even athletico madrid, manchester city or chelsea.before anyone goes our midfield played reasonably well against chelsea they'll be different proposition at their place.we need top quality and if we cannot get the right players in this window or the next give our youth a chance even if it means a period of transition, we could benefit in the long run.

5.) We struggle against teams who can over-run us in midfield, even effing small EPL teams like WBA cause us problem there. Will Fellaini be a solution? You're damn straight, he'd improve us there. He's no Yaya, but he's no Carrick either - the man is a brick outhouse with good cardio, good in the air, and he has that nasty streak we have lacked for a very long time. If we only sign Fellaini, its a bad window, but signing him in general would give our CM a much-needed bit of muscle.

Vidal is the one most likely to leave Juventus, and I really hope he joins United. The would be a double positive not only would we be getting a quality player, but we would also be scuppering any hope that Chelsea have of signing Pogba as Juventus won't sell both.

He should be given number 9, so we can coin the chant "9, Juan, Juan"
