What's the situation with ugarte?
Is it a matter of meeting PSGs value as it seems he wants the move?

I think him, DeLigt and Mazraoui will happen. I think it is just waiting on some outgoings plus other teams buying players (Neves to PSG etc) .
{Ed004's Note - I think Mazraoui, Yoro, De Ligt, Ugarte & Zirkzee would be a very good start to Ineos tenure. Maybe slightly worried about the left back position but adding young and quality players throughout there}

Mazraoui can play left back too so might be a sensible addition until Malcia’s fitness issues are sorted out.

Ed002 does Ugarte want to go to United and are there any problems like PSG wanting more than United are willing to pay or they just don’t want to let him go? His stats look brilliant for the CDM role. Only Kante had better over a large period of games.
{Ed002's Note - PSG want to confirm the signing of his replacement and then they will let him leave when a club makes a suitable offer.}

Ugarte I think would be a great signing. An ideal partner for Mainoo, and someone whose style of play seems very well suited to the EPL.
I suspect this one is just a matter of time and likely to be the next deal announced.
MdL would be an okay signing in my opinion, although I do have concerns over how you would keep him and Yoro happy. We don't lack for options at RCB, we do have limited options at LCB and feel we need someone for that side more than on the right.
I'm actually pretty concerned about the links with Mazraoui. Nothing to do with his talent or ability. In terms of player profile he seems very well suited. My concerns stem from his frankly appalling injury record.
Since the start of the 2017/ 18 season Mazraoui has missed 422 days due to no less than 23 separate injuries, missing a total of 100 games for his club.
Last season alone he had 5 separate injuries, missing 96 days and 19 games for Bayern Munich.
Considering our own injury issues last season I don't see Mazraoui as a sensible signing at all. Bringing an already injury prone player to the most physically demanding league in the world will not end well.
While I think Mazraoui is a better player than Dumfries, if given the choice between the two I'd take the Dutchman whose hardly ever injured over Mazraoui whose seemingly always carrying a knock.

Shappy,
An alternative would be to sell AWB and promote a Youth player. Thus allowing those funds from the sale of AWB to be used towards purchasing Ugarte, whom is a must needed addition to the first team.
However, do we have a Youth, reserve player ready to step up at RB. At LB Sam Murray has impressed this pre season.
We need to ensure that tmonwy is spend wisely and effectively this summer. Utd could really do with Shaw staying fit for the season.

Mad Hatter, if there is a youth player or alternative to be the back up RB then that is ideal.
Unfortunately I don't think their is a youth player at RB whose ready.
I wonder if Yoro could deputise at RB in a pinch? He wouldn't be the first young CB who gets minutes at fullback while they adjust to the EPL/ senior football.
Ideally we sell AWB and find a good young player with potential who we can get for a similar or lower fee than we get for AWB.

Shappy,
That's the point I was trying to make. Too much sun and beer for me lol.

I like Dumfries tbh. I’d take him over Mazraoui any day of the week.

Ed002 - you previously mentioned Joao Neves was first choice for united, but they don’t want to get in bidding war for JN against PSG (and ugarte being an option assuming psg get the deal) .
Couple of questions:
- do you know if JN prefers the PSG move over united?
- if psg fail to get JN, is there any chance of united trying again for JN; or would they move on to another option and who would that be (since ugarte likely wouldn’t move at that point)
{Ed002's Note - I expect a move to PSG. Manchesterer United my try again in the unlikely event it doesn’t happen but MU will look to Ugarit.}

Ed004. Mazraoui and Dalot can both play at LB.
Shaw hopefully doesn't have the horrendous injury problem as last season.
Martinez too can play at LB with Yoro and De Ligt as Centre Backs.
{Ed004's Note - And young Amas looks a very good talent. I think I’d still feel more comfortable signing a left back, especially if we know Malacia is out for an extended period. However, I also appreciate we have bigger issues to get cover in such as CDM and possibly RW.}

ED004,
I'd be happy with that which players would you like to see leave before the end of the transfer window?
{Ed004's Note - I’d like to see AWB go if he’s no intention to extend, Lindelof, Casemiro, Anthony, Eriksen and wouldn’t be adverse to Sancho but that might leave us short on attacking numbers}

ED004,
I'm hoping the club signs Ugarte. He looks like the perfect addition to the midfield.
Young Collyer looks to be good aswell. Hopefully over the next few years the academy can prove to be very fruitful.
{Ed004's Note - I agree. We need someone who can keep the ball safely as Bruno is afforded more opportunities to be creative but more importantly help us defensively.}
