Would any of you be happy with the arrival of Emi Martinez?
Is he world class? Definitely not for me but he does have character and personality, something we massively lack imo. A keeper with balls who won't hide when the going gets tough in games
An upgrade on Onana? 100%.
I just can't see how we can go into another season with Onana in goal, major major obstacle to us gathering momentum for the new season.
Just think he may be the only option with our limited budget, ideally would love Diogo Costa.

It really depends on the price. Anything over £30m is too much, especially with Trafford supposedly available for £40m.

I don't think Trafford is anywhere near good enough red, actually pretty shocked City are going for him. Barely premier league level imo.

Trafford is going to Newcastle.
{Ed025's Note - maybe you could get his Grandad BU..."Old Trafford", he cant be any worse than Onana mate.. :)

Id take martinez in a heartbeat. We need a few more players with strong character.
He makes the odd clanger all keepers do. I think he has a personality that would allow him to flourish at old Trafford.
Loves a wind up and a bit of dark arts and as I said we need a few more like that.

Personally, I'd rather we signed Lammens, but failing that Emi Martinez would be a good signing - providing the price isn't stupid.

While I’m not going to pretend to know an awful lot about him, Lammens seems to make a lot more sense. From what I have seen online he looks a real steady Eddie. He commands his box well. Has good distribution and anticipation. Good aerially with balls coming into the box. For the reported £17m fee it would make sense. If we can’t shift Onana on this summer, then a keeper who has all the attributes to claim his place while not breaking the bank would be ideal.

I don't think he'd be a great signing, especially if Onana has to stay this year.
I like the idea of Senne Lammens coming in from Antwerp.
Massive potential, and looks ready made for the EPL. He's the kind of signing that comes in at the start of the season to challenge and push Onana for the starting position while he adjusts to the EPL. By the time January comes around and Onana likely heads to the AFCON he should get his chance, and hopefully take the No.1 spot. Then Onana can leave next summer.
We need to be careful who we bring in, keepers are one of the areas where you don't really want too much competition for places as you don't want to be chopping and changing your keeper.
Onana and Martinez would create too much tension and ambiguity in a position that you need to be calm and settled in.

Heaton is looking sharp today.

Bayindir out Lammens in, if we are not promoting a youth to Bayindir spot.
We can't sell Onana this summer as he is injured.

We can sell him injured that's not true. But we can't sell him because he is rubbish.

Would be unlikely Ken, very unlikely.

Injury won’t have nothing to do with sale or not, it’s only a minor muscle, you can still pass a medical with such, reason we can’t sell him is because no one wants him, why would they, I know Shappy previously said he was the missing link in us playing great football when he arrived because the great distribution he was supposed to possess, but he is even useless at that, so the little glimmer of being good at something some see, is not even there!
