Just read Balague saying that RM want to sell James Rodriguez and €35m would be enough. Now I'm not saying it is correct or not, as I don't believe anything most people say regarding transfers. But, let's pretend it is accurate. Would you take him at €35m? I'd be tempted at that price, fitting him in may be difficult, but he has talent.

Just wondered what others thought.

{Ed004's Note - It is very tempting at that price but I just don't see where he would fit in. Would far rather have Griezmann}

He's terrible. Imagine Mata with no work rate or creativity.

Wouldn't have him, need players to fit a system, he's just another number 10. We need to build a team around pogba, play him in his strongest position and play/ buy players to fit that system.

Hi Bren. Yeah he has talent but has done very little there in 3 years. I think Ed002 said he had a lot of baggage and attitude issues. Commercially if he did do well it would be a dream for the club in south America.
Is he not similar to mata or miki? I'm unconvinced personally as I've not seen him do it for sustained period. I also realise it's tough to oust Bale and Ronaldo but when Bale was injured he didn't shine.

If you can't fit him in it does not matter if he is £10m it makes the answer no! In the end it will just end up the same as Di Maria.
We should be going for players who fit the mould and team structure Mourinho wants.

I would say no to Rodrigues as we have a similar player in Linfard and Mata.

I'm with you ed, just the price stated seems good for a very decent player, so wondered what people thought.

Not for me. There are tons of better players out there than him.

Not sure I would get James myself, I think 35 million is decent value for him, would be have capability to play in the middle in a physical league week in and out, very similar player to Mata but just younger

Their is also the (less likely) possibility of playing Miki through the middle in the future or moving Pogba to the 10 role.

It is very difficult to tell how he really is. He shined for Monaco and Colombia and Porto. He does have a good record even with this very limited appearances.
A lot of former Madrid players have left the club and have either been really great or decent since leaving.

Ozil, Khedira, Robben, Sneijder, Van Der Vaart, Higauin, Albiol, Garay, Callejon all have had success since leaving. Even Morata and Carvajal had good seasons when they left.

For 35m, it will be immensely stupid not to sign him. He's comfortable everywhere in all the 3 positions behind Zlatan, and he's an assist machine when on form.
