Hi Ed001, hope you are well, Merry Christmas !! I was watching Wolves last night and i was really impressed with Podence especially when he was centrally. Fantastic little player who makes the team tick, good control and good at tight areas , i would say he was similar to our own Mata a little bit but with more pace and tricks. what's your opinion on him ?

{Ed001's Note - excellent little player but a little prone to playing with his head down at times. If he could learn to assess his options and pick the right one more often, he would be frighteningly good.}

He was megging people for fun last night, great to see as a fan but needs to add more of an end product after he’s done it, megging people in an empty stadium and passing it for a throw in isn’t great but the talent is clearly there, cracking player in there somewhere.

Herrera I made the same comparison between Podence and Mata yesterday. He’s a tidy little player. I’ve been really impressed with him and Neto this season.

Does Podence play on the right or on the left? I know Adama Traits has lost out the starting place on the wings to Neto and Podence but I am not sure which one of them plays where.

Podance is a very good player, much quicker than Mata, but I see the technical ability as being the reason for the comparison.

Typically he plays on the RW and has to an extent pushed Traore out of the side, to the extent that Traore has been played at wing back a few times as that was his only way into the team. Personally I think Traore could be better suited to a wing back role, physically strong enough to be a good defender if coached well. But lacks a little in forward areas to truly be a forward for a top side. He reminds me a lot of Antonio Valencia. Pace and power, but inconsistent end product.

Podance is a far more technical and intelligent player. My gut instinct is that Neto long term will be the better player, but we could do a lot worse than signing Podance for the RW spot.

Yes Wazza, it looked like a quicker Mata. Or maybe more of a David Silva because although his stats aren't good he makes his team tick. Good in tight areas and always moves to become a choice for his team mates.
Deependra they played all of them against Spurs. Podence plays everywhere behind the striker, mostly left winger or thought the middle.

I agree with Shappy, typically he is a right winger, i think that was his position at Olympiakos. But he impressed me mainly when he was centrally because he made his team tick like David Silva.

As you are discussing who you would like to sign from my team I am going to tell Uncle Jorge Mendes to have a word with Bruno Fernandes. We could do with a couple of goal scorers while we wait on the recovery of Raul so at the same time Uncle Jorge will have a word with that Cavani, Rashford and Greenwood.

Your uncle can't help you mate because our players are too expensive. I think your team making a fantastic job buying good Portuguese players for good prices. You have 4-5 players that could walk in most teams. Have a nice match GTW.
