Welcome Jadon! Wasn’t my first choice but goes in line with the big name signing the glazers like. Can’t deny his stats are unbelievable let’s hope he can translate that to the EPL. If we can get Varane over the line too, I’d be fairly happy with the window if that was all. Still think we need a DM, not sold on rice for the price though! Why are we not pushing for Saul?!

Ndidi and Saul or Camavinga with Matic and Pogba sold would be a dream summer. I am sure money are there, not sure the intention to sell Pogba.

I might be wrong because I haven't watched much spanish football in the last couple of years, but from what I remember Saul is not a DM, he's more of a box-to-box/ ballwinning CM. Kind of like Fred but actually capable of passing ;)

That would actually make Saul work pretty well alongside Fred or McTominey, keeping the effectiveness of McFred against other teams possession football, but adding a bit of quality in possession.

If we are targeting a proper DM theough, I don't think Saul fits that role.

I think you are right Thorne, but he also can play as holding. He is better suited in box to box role as he has energy he is good in breaking up play has good stamina and is goog going forward if we give him freedom.

There is a reason atletico are willing to let him leave. He used to be one of the 1st names on the team sheet but he's fallen out of favour and he was also left out of Spain euro squad. I have reservations about him.

The reason AM will allow Saul to leave is that they need money and the only way to get money is to sell players. He signed a new long term contract on big wages. If they sold him, they would get a big fee and him off the books aswell.

He is a top player.

{Ed077's Note - Saul is on 300k a week and has a contract that lasts 4-5 years still. Atletico Madrid cant afford his wages anymore and he is more likely to fetch much needed funds for them. That is why AM are open to selling him, not necessarily because he became a bad player overnight.}

Ed077 - definately on saul, and would be content with ndidi but to be fair I haven't seen or more accurately noticed him as much as others. Saying that, its probably because he does the graft and is not all flicks and fancy arse stuff, lol. Add a cb ie varane/ torres it would be one of our best windows imo. wouldn't be surprised by bailly to Villareal in a switch and another forward . It is being greedy but surely we can recoup for pogba rather than let him out free next year as well as dvdb.

Do we need a CDM if we are buying a quality CB? Surely OGS can drop this double pivot tactic and rely on his defenders more now?
